De-jo reacted to Madam Reverie in i think my sleeve is making me hate my spouse
Oh, honey...
You won't be the first to experience this and you certainly won't be the last.
Firstly - you're the one who had surgery, so if you want to go and run marathons, then that's your choice - not his. He might've promised to do it with you, but really, he shouldn't be forced to - if he doesn't want to.
Maybe do another activity together - ideally one he wants to partake in?
As for your growing impatience with him across the board and drawing a correlation between that and your weight loss?
Do you think you're worth more now - and he's worth less? Or you're worth more and he's stayed the same?
You need to ask yourself the question as to whether YOU believe YOU settled for less, because you were previously bigger?
Sadly, its all about your perception of the situation. If you love him, you'll bring him with you and discuss your feelings/frustrations. If you don't.. then its a whole different ball game of which you can only decide upon...
I wish you the best of luck x

De-jo got a reaction from Boomersmomma in December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
December 9th!!!! I had the option to go in October but life and schedule didn't allow. But I'm just glad to have it scheduled and start the new year with a new me!!!! I'm 38 5'5 and currently 270. I start my two week liquid on Nov 25th, so no turkey and yams for this chick! I'm ok with it though...I decided to host an early Thanksgiving and have already told my family I will be a no show on turkey day. I comb through this web site every day and can't believe I'm finally starting this journey.
I have always had weight issues and have wanted wls forever but never had insurance that would cover it. Now I work for a local hospital and it's covered and I had a relatively painless process into all this. I got luck and was able to use most of my pre-testing from a recent gallbladder removal to satisfy my surgeon and ins. All I have left is the the labs the day before Thanksgiving and then the big day on Monday Dec 9th....oh yeah and I'm getting married October 26th!!!! New Year, new partner and new life! WATCH OUT 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

De-jo got a reaction from Bremartus in December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
Day one of my two week Pre-Op liquid diet and I'm not doing so well. I feel depressed and weepy. I know it'll pass. I think I'm having emotional fall out knowing my life is going to change. I tried to explain to my hubby, who isn't overweight, that food is my friend, my commfort, my drug. It's hard to say goodbye to the me that i've been for 30 plus years and to the one thing that made everything better. I was prepared for the hungriness but not the emotions,

I got my date last week - December 2nd! I could have done it a week earlier, but figured I would wait and not put my family out for Thanksgiving! Plus it's easier to miss a little work in December. I'm excited and scared all at the same time. My insurance won't pay a dime on this so it is self-pay all the way. If my hubby hadn't told me out of the blue one day that we could cover it I would never have considered shelling out the moolah! But I really want to do this and to get healthy. I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes last year and haven't been able to lose and I have struggled with it all my life! Also have high bp and sleep apnea. Ugh! I'm so sick of being sick!

I'm self pay and also decided to wait until after Thanksgiving as I recover poorly and I cook the dinner, so I at least wanted to be happy about cooking it for everyone!

De-jo reacted to Nurse_B in December Sleevers?
Hello!
I am hoping for a date the first week of December. My surgery center is calling me on Wednesday to officially schedule, when I talked to them last week they had not maxed out November yet. I am thinking it would be nice to be able to have thanksgiving with my family and have the surgery in December. This also doesn't interrupt holiday scheduling at my job, so others wouldn't have to cover me and sacrifice time with their families. It feels so far away, but I started this journey in July and I can't believe it's almost November. I was really hoping to have this done in September, but some of my pre-op dates couldn't be done until Mid September. I am looking forward to getting a date and going on this journey with other December sleevers, I need all of the inspiration and motivation I can find! Good luck to everyone

Any of you guys getting sleeved in December? I was offered October 16th but due to my upcoming wedding and school and work and blah-blah-blah I had to wait till December. Any one else out there ready to role in December??? My preop diet ( 2 weeks liquid) starts Nov.25th so no turkey for me. I've already informed family I will be a no show this Thanksgiving, so worth it though. I decided to have a pre-Thanksgiving the Saturday before.

Omg I so agree with all if you.. I keep hitting like on all of the replies.. I can't wait to buy sexy undergarments like Victoria's Secret.. And to just be able to shop in any damn store in the mall without saying "do they have plus size"? And I know this might sound cheesy but being that I am a costco member.. I would love to be able to buy the clothes they have for super cheap.. Especially now during the holiday season :/
Soon.. Very soon.. I can't wait

This is not going to be the first of such challenges you face. How many times will you give up something that is good for you (prime spot, sunlight, window) for something that is bad for you? Maybe this is a good opportunity to put yourself & what is good for you front & center, and deal with those old habits head on.

I can't wait to wear something just because I like the style! With no worries about how my body will look from a side angle.
I want to wear a leather shift dress and be chic!!!!

This may be a strange thing to want to wear. I'd REALLY like to be able to wear my Army Class A uniform again. Haven't been able to get in it since 1994. OMG that was last century!!!!!!!!!

I was fantasy shopping last weekend. Looking at different styles and wondering what mine would be. When I was younger I was a preppy dresser. I think I will go for semi sexy dresser! I'm thinking short skirt with knee high boots and a white button up blouse and a cute jean jacket! Move over skinny girls I'm coming to a store near you!
Life is good!

My daughters clothes. A skirt above my knees. A tucked in shirt. Something I bought because I liked it not because it was the only thing that fit.

I am on my way to get the endoscopy done. Last of the tedious tests before surgery (Finally) Wish me luck ladies!!! I am a bit nervous now. I will let you know how it goes in case any of you are curious about the procedure.
