  1. If there is a link to close an account, I can't find it. I know the link at the top of the page is for technical issues, but I clicked on it to see if I could get to a help page. I keep getting a message that I don't have permission to view that page. How can I deactivate my account?
  2. Thank you. I thought maybe that was the case. I can't seem to take my pictures down either. It is a privacy issue.
  3. Is there a moderator who can help me please?
  4. I was trying to view a thread by gamergirl titled NOTE: Your picture may be on the bariatricpal app in the apple store, but I keep getting an error message that I don't have permission to view the topic. I clicked the link at the top to report the issue and I got the same message. I really wanted to view that topic!! I hope they get the bugs worked out soon!
  5. I agree about the acid feeling like hunger. I'm 6-1/2 months out and I'm still on Prevacid. I was pretty miserable until I figured it out.
  6. I got married 19 years ago in October and I got that sucker on and zipped today!
  7. I've been told a few times that I look younger.
  8. I am so thankful that food doesn't control me anymore. I'm in control of me now!
  9. I used the weight I was at on surgery day.
  10. Google Telogen Effluvium for more information on the hair loss.
  11. I love this thread! Just the other day at work I was mistaken for someone that is very little (short and thin) . That made my whole day!
  12. My feeling of full is now a sharp pain in the center of my chest with a wave of massive nausea. It doesn't last long and I don't experience it often. It usually happens if I eat too fast. It is nothing like the full pre-sleeve. What does your full feel like now?
  13. I haven't dressed up for Halloween since I was a kid. Now that I'm down almost 70 pounds, I have more confidence and I'm seriously thinking about it. It seems most costumes are labeled "sexy" and "naughty", but I'm not ready for that yet! I'm considering making my own costume and going as a hippie. It is fitting since I'm so much more carefree and happy now! Anyone else dressing up? Share some ideas with me.

    I can't handle the puddle!

Is it best to buy these in one size up or one size down?
  15. Sleeved 4/23/13. Pre-op weight was 232, surgery day weight was 219. I weigh 165 today for a loss of 54# since surgery and a total of 67# including pre-op. I'm considered a slow loser I guess and I've never really counted those pre-op pounds in the loss. I'm almost 6 months out.

    A hair loss theory

I'm no expert, I'm only 6 months post-op, but I've been thinking about this whole hair loss ordeal that so many WLS people go through. Mine has been very minimal thus far, just a very small amount of extra shedding. This was a very big fear of mine in the beginning because my hair is rather fine to begin with. Is it possible that a lot of people start losing their hair at the 3-6 month mark because that is when we stop drinking Protein shakes? I've never stopped and I wonder if that has helped. I faithfully take my Vitamins also. I don't take oral Biotin at all. I've been using Organix shampoo with biotin and collagen since early post-op. Like I said, I'm no expert and my hair could starting falling out by the handfuls tomorrow!
  17. I gained 18 pounds while in the hospital. I had a complication that required an extra 2 day stay and I was pumped full of fluid. I think it took about a week and a half just to lose those 18 pounds.
  18. I've been battling lower back pain on and off since the mid 80s. The past couple of years have been especially bad and I have been under the care of a pain specialist for the past year in the form of facet and SI joint injections with minimal results. I also have bulging discs at 3 levels. I've lost a total of 66 pounds including pre-op and post-op (4/23/13). I was certain that when I stated to lose weight that my back pain would magically disappear. Apparently my discs are the culprit here and I'm not sure the damage can be reversed. I'm scheduled for a different type of injection directly into my discs at 3 levels at the end of the month. I would love to hear some positive stories about how back pain does indeed get better at some point after losing the excess weight. I have about 34 pounds to go until goal.

    A hair loss theory

I never lost hair after having my kids or after any of my other surgeries in the past. I'm sure genetics has a role here too. Very interesting responses here. Keep them coming!

    my bmi 36

I have heard of surgery being canceled because of an enlarged liver. As far as hair loss, mine has been minimal. I'm almost 6 months out.

    Chronic lower back pain

I just finished a round of PT again which didn't help at all. In fact, when I do the exercises, I have numbness/tingling in my right leg. It's just so frustrating.

    Has the sweating stopped?

Yes it does and you will most likely find yourself putting on a thin jacket on to keep warm too!

  25. This sounds like how I was in the beginning and i remember how mad I was and regretted it. I'm now about 5-1/2 months out and down 53# from surgery date. I am probably considered a slow loser in the weight loss community. My surgery day weight was 219#. I'm a stairstep loser and you might be too. Hang in there! It took me about 4-1/2 months to finally have no regrets.
