    NEED ENCOURAGING....

Thank you both! I have recently taken up crocheting again CanyonBaby and I signed up for a 5k for like end of June I believe. I would really like to reach my 100lb mark by August (surgery date) and that reminds me CowgirlJane, it was August of 2014. I am not losing at the moment, but not gaining either, so I should be grateful! Thank you for the advice! I know I can do this....sometimes it just helps to feel like you have that support. Someone to help back you up! Thanks again!!
  2. OK, I am needing tips and encouragement. I was sleeved on August 12, 2015 and I can't say I have fallen off the bandwagon, but I am struggling. I am not gaining any weight back, but I am staying the same. I have lost a total of about 85 lbs. In the last 5 months my life has been altered in many ways and I have gotten into some mindless snacking. I work full time, go to school, lost my mom in November and my daughter and her family (including my grand baby) moved away in March. A lot of life changes have stirred up some emotional eating behaviors that I am ashamed to admit too. I know that it is an issue, and starting next month I will be attending support groups (class on Tuesdays made it impossible to go before) but any ideas, tips, encouragement would be greatly appreciated!

    Period munchies

Ok, I had my surgery August 12th 2014 so I am almost 6 months post op. I have lost about 85 lbs so far so that is great but it seems that around my period I crave things I shouldn't eat. The Sweet and the Salty. I do very well all of the rest of the month. Have any of you guys had this problem and how or what do you do to stay on track? The last few months have been pretty rough and my weight loss has slowed. I lost my mom the day before Thanksgiving and since she was in hospice the last few weeks before I got out of the habit of going to the gym as often. Guessing I could just use some encouragement. Thanks for looking at my post and thanks ahead of time for the help!
  4. Hey everyone! Haven't posted in awhile, but I just wanted to say Hi! Hope your all doing well! JenBenjamin congrats! You look great!! I am almost 3 months out as well (on the 12th) and I am feeling pretty good! I don't like pics (still) but i definitely see a difference in my clothes and I have lost 55 lbs. It is for sure a journey. And anyone who says that it is or was the easy way out has absolutely NO IDEA!! Love all the encouragement on here though! and keep up the good work guys!!
  5. Thats exactly how I feel nonsenseprecious!! I was so bummed out. They said at my two week that I was fine. Lost 30 since starting the nurse visits, 20 lbs since surgery. Since then I have only lost the 5-7 lbs. I stalled for a long time. (felt much longer) I know my clothes are fitting me differently, but still like you said, or as I say.... "I had major elective surgery to lose weight! WTF??" I am just seeing if I am normal for being exactly 1 month today and if I am on track again to losing more. This whole journey has been a bit surreal. We totally got this!!!
  6. Just wondering what everyone lost in their first month? I stalled at my 2 week mark until this week. I have lost about 25 lbs, and I have been pretty bummed out. Just wondering what everyone else has gone through, and if this is normal?? Thank you!!!

    August Sleevers Check In

My surgery is tomorrow!!!! I am really getting scared! I have wanted this for so long, and I really can't believe it is here, but I am not looking forward to the recovery part. I have heard it go both ways....really rough, and easy peasy. I am hoping for the easy peasy! I am worried about water intake, sipping instead of big drinks, throwing up (i absolutely hate throwing up or dry heaving), and eating as slow as i should be. On the other hand, I am soooo excited to be starting this journey and being the best me I can be!! It was 20 years ago that I was my thinnest. Not sure how small that even is. We got this....those sleeved this month!! Ohhh and it is also my birthday in a few weeks. It will be interesting to see how I get to celebrate that!!
  8. I have my surgery tomorrow too (sleeve) and I am a nervous wreck!! I can't wait to finally be able to lose the weight, but at the same time any surgery can be a scary thing. I think I am more nervous about the after surgery recovery. I have heard it from all spectrum. People who haven't had any problems and others with pretty bad pain. I have been on my pre-op liquid diet for 2 weeks, been preparing for this since January. Now that it is here, I am a mess!! We got this!! We are finally getting a new healthier self! I am not sure about your med situation. I would just call your doctor and ask them. Hope everything works out ok, Congrats on your surgery and decision, and Good luck!! Hope you have an amazing, comfortable recovery!!!

    Surgery was yesterday!

I have my surgery on Tuesday and I am getting very VERY nervous!! I am ready to have it over with though too. I am getting pretty bummed about this two week liquid diet and my amount of weight loss on it. I feel I have been following it well, with little to show for it. I am still just pushing through. I hope that I am able to walk and work through this like you! Good job! And congrats on everything!!!
  10. You Got This!!! Good luck! I will be thinking of you!!

    2 wks to go

10 days until surgery here.....I'm really having one of those days where I am not sure I can do it. I'm scared, nervous, hungry (on liquid diet since Tuesday), tired, and surprisingly cold today. I keep trying to tell myself "I got this!" but today its not working out for me. My body and brain are on different wave lengths apparently. *sigh* Just one of those days.
  12. I am on a liquid diet since Tuesday. My surgery is scheduled for August 12th. I am limited on my diet to liquids, with one Protein bar a day under 200 cal. I can have things like tomato Soup, broth, sugar free Jello, applesauce, etc. Since it is only day 4, I haven't weighed myself. (me and the scale have a bad relationship). I was told though that I could loose 14+ lbs on it. Hope that helps some.

    Cheating on Pre-Op

I'm on day 2 of my two week pre-op diet. Yesterday I started it confident and satisfied with myself....then I got home. My husband was cooking dinner for himself and the boys and it smelled DELICIOUS!! I walked right past everyone and right into my bedroom where I stayed until my sons baseball game. Today, I have been hungry....and kind of down. I know I have to do this, and I am determined. But I guess I am overwhelmed by everything going on. The diet, the weight loss I wish I had, and the surgery coming up. It's definitely a mind thing. I was wondering if any of you felt tired, and exhausted while on the pre-op diet? I mean, I understand that I am eating a great deal less, but I don't know if all this "ick" feeling is the diet, or something more I guess. (hope this is understandable, I feel like I am not making sense and rambling)

    One week post sleeve

8 lbs is awesome!! Keep up the good work. I have my surgery on August 12th and I am currently doing a two week liquid diet. I'm both nervous and excited. I hope that i feel OK 7 days out. I am more worried about the after surgery phase, than the surgery itself. Congrats on everything!!
