babybearsmum got a reaction from Jennifer Rogers in Sex...
My doctor said whenever I felt up to it so my surgery was on a Monday, got home late Wednesday night had sex Friday morning. It wasn't painful you just have to be extra careful. I did find that we're more active since my surgery.

I add a drop or two of hot sauce so it's not but adds a little flavor. After about 4 small bites I feel like I've ate a huge thanksgiving dinner so I've been stopping at three. And I add fat free cheese.

Hi! I have been waiting for WLS for over 4 years...I was sleeved Sept. 24. I'm 35, 5'8", a registered nurse. At my known heaviest I was 374. The balk finally started rolling in March when I followed up and had come down a few pounds since I was last seen (2 years ago). I kicked it into high gear and lost about 25 pounds before I got my surgery date. I started my pre-op diet one month ahead of surgery and lost about another 20. On the day of my surgery I was 327. Today I am 305. I'm excited to get my life back!

My doctor said "Carbonation will ruin this surgery" so I haven't had any but I'm only a few weeks out. We'll see how I feel in a year or so I hope I stay strong.

babybearsmum got a reaction from built2livenotexist in 6 days post op... no fun
I was in really bad shape at first and wanted to cry but I didn't because I was worried id puke again! I held my husband and said "oh God why did I do this to myself!" I feel better now outside of pain. It's one of those things you'll probably enjoy it eventually you just have to get over this big hump! The only thing I can recommend is what I did which was sucking on ice and taking all of my nausea meds whether I needed them at the time or not. Good luck

    hi babybearsmum,
I had VSG on 8/4. The only discomfort I had after surgery was in one specific incision on my left side, which was the largest one where they removed the excess stomach. I wore my binder daily without fail for about 2 weeks after surgery. The pain subsided and eventually went away without further treatment. I also didn't bend down for those 2 weeks - it was really uncomfortable. If the gas strips didn't help, maybe the binder will? Good luck and hang in there. It gets better from here, I promise.

It's so surreal. I checked in this morning at 9:15 and had surgery at 11:15. Came out of surgery in a lot of pain and nauseated. Once I got hooked up to the pain pump and got a dose of zofran I felt really good except I have been so very tired from the anesthesia. I am up and walking with almost no pain. My doctor allows ice chips thankfully because my mouth is really dry. Tomorrow morning I have another leak test (he does one in the OR) and then on clear liquids. Hopefully all goes well because I really want to go home! Once home I'm allowed to start on full liquids.
I hope everyone else's surgery's went well today! This is my first time on because I've been so tired and my eyes would not cooperate. Good luck to all those waiting!!

babybearsmum reacted to *Lexie* in What I'm really afraid of...
I've been on Bariatric Pal for a few months now and I'm a week away from surgery. I've read countless posts around fears about surgery, complications, losing hair, loose skin but my biggest fear is something that I rarely see mentioned.
What if I fail at this too? Does anyone else worry about that or just me? I did okay going through an 8 week pre-op diet/skills class and lost around 15 pounds. But as soon as my 2 week pre-op diet started, I have lost my mind and haven't been able to stick to it. Which leads me to wonder if the same thing will happen afterwards. I really want to be successful but knowing that soon I won't be able to eat make me feel compelled to eat while I can. It probably doesn't help that my doctor's office told us that we have already shrunk our liver with the weight loss we have already had and they only expect us to lose another 2 lbs on the pre-op diet. I took that as permission to eat three meals a day versus 1 meal and 2 shakes a day.
