    Sitting here eating a salad

For me the cravings do go away. And if I get one, I will have a bite or two of something and then I'm usually done. If I try more, I usually get sick. If that happens, I am sooooo cured of that craving! LOL
  3. Congrats and good luck! This seems to be a common topic around here. :0)

    Second night home

I had a hard time with my bed for quite a few weeks.....
  7. I still catch myself thinking' "Geez, I would love to be able to eat...." But NO! I went through this so that I wouldn't eat that crud anymore.
  8. I got top ramen noodles and just used the flavor packet and added non flavored protein.
  9. I'm sure you are mixing your powder with something you can tolerate, like water or soy milk. I've added non flavored protein to soups. Not the greatest but it worked....

    Waiting to drink after food

It is hard and I've thrown up several times because I didn't wait. But that is just how my body reacts. You don't want to wash down all that food you just worked on getting into your stomach.

    One month today

Congrats! I'm just now at 30 and I'm a few weeks ahead of you! Good job!
  13. It does get easier. The 1 oz/hour is good in the beginning. good luck!
  14. I mixed my regular coffee with decaf. Have you seen those cute insulated glasses with the lid and straw? I drank 2 of those every day..... I also drank a TON of caffeinated beverages through out the day including Monster drinks. What is funny is that now I can't drink coffee. I tried several times with Protein in the beginning. I couldn't do it! It was 'heavy and oily'. Go figure! Oh well, my grocery bill is a lot less without the coffee, creamer, sodas, and caffeinated drinks. :0) Good luck!

    Too "small" for surgery?

I'm 5' and had a BMI of 40 but I also high blood pressure, high cholesterol, arthritis, and bone deterioration in my feet and ankles. I had it done for many reasons. I wanted to sit in stadium seating and not get 'stuck'. I wanted to be able to walk between student desks and not knock everything off of their desks. I wanted to not hurt when I walked. I wanted cute clothes and shoes. I wanted to shop in the misses section of the store and not womans. But mainly because my mom's family either has diabetes or has died from it and I didn't want it. I have dieted for years. The weight always came back. When my ankles and feet finally got really bad, I couldn't exercise without pain. I just kept getting heavier and heavier. I got sleeved for all of the above reasons. It isn't an easy answer to weight loss, but it has made it easier for me.

    Upset stomach

I just had my 6 week check up and told my doc about my constant burping (even with plain water), lots of acid (yes, I have a ppi), and my stomach still cramping when I drink to quickly. I will have an EGD this next Wednesday. Tell your doc. :0)
  17. I am 5 weeks out from surgery- Anyway, I am at the beach on a vacation with my family. It has been really hard to eat, but have Protein drink, will travel.... We were going back to our hotel by car and I look down and my LEGS ARE CROSSED!!!!! I didn't even think about it. I almost started to cry!

    umbilical hernia?....

I never had a c sec, sooo I don't know what to tell ya there. I do know it was very hard and painful for ME. I was very glad I had my mom living with me.... It may not be as bad for you. Talk to your doc about what to do and about how much pain it may cause you.

    umbilical hernia?....

ME!!!! OK, I had an umbilical hernia AND a hiatal hernia repaired when I had my sleeve done. Mine was relatively small compared to stuff I had seen on the internet. But I still wanted to have it repaired. When I had the surgery my sleeve didn't bother me at all, pain wise. On the other hand, I had intense pain with the umbilical hernia repair. That surgery basically made using the lower abs painful. Getting in and out of bed hurt like all heck! I could raise my feet to get into the hospital bed, on and off the couch, in and outta my reclining chair. Laying back in bed hurt because you use those muscles also. It also means that sitting back in a chair hurt, laying back in bed.... Oh and sitting up in bed, on the couch etc. I had my surgery 6/7/13 and up till this last week or so I was still very careful getting outta the car because when I sat crouched over for any length of time I felt like I was going to tear something if I moved to quickly. It was fine after I straightened out slowly. Oh, and don't ya dare sneeze or cough! OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, you remember those silly commercials about the reclining chair that helped old people stand up because the chair had a lift to it? I soooooooo could have used one! I so got how it was useful! LOL!!!! For me, I hurt so bad that I had strained my neck pulling myself into bed. So when I got home I was on Tylenol3 every 2.5-3 hours for the stomach and neck pain..... So DON'T STRAIN YOUR NECK!!!! But now, it is fixed and healed. Hopefully I'll never have a problem with it again. Good luck!
  22. I got my sleeve 6/7. Anyway, I went on vacation a week ago and when I got back I had lost 6lbs!!! It was hard but I can't say I've ever gone on a trip and come back lighter!!! :0)))))

    A first for me- ever!

The thing of it is is that you can't think of it as 'sucking'. I have caught myself several times thinking "what I wouldn't do for.....". But you know what? I had this surgery so that I wouldn't be that slave to food... Food doesn't taste the same way to me now. If I know that I will hurt after eating something, then it isn't worth the pain.

    A first for me- ever!

It hasn't been easy for me.... But it is getting easier. The biggest thing about eating for me is having to wait to burp between every couple of bites.... :0)
  25. It takes me FOREVER! Haha. While I can do more than a sip, if I do really big gulps, then I get stomach cramps. My goal now is to try and drink it before it gets hot... Bleh!
