  1. I don't think so. I have all natural beef stick that has a little more than 500mg of sodium and I eat that and that has 13g of protein and 139 calories. I plan to buy more of this perky jerky for a road trip I'm taking in 2 more weeks. It's the perfect snack pack (this and P3 portable snacks).
  2. You took a page out of my book. My starting BMI was higher than yours. I started at 275 but I am only 5ft tall. I had (still have) a lot of weight to lose. The reason I decided to go with the sleeve is because for some reason the thought of gastric bypass scared the hell out of me. Plus I still wanted to have the option of having something sweet every now and then, without the worry of the dumping syndrome. I also have asthma so I know what that's like too and I also want to lose weight quickly but I'm really happy with my progress so far and I know this type of thing can not be rushed because after all we didn't put the weight on overnight so naturally it's not going to come off overnight either. Ultimately you have to make the best decision for YOU. I know if I had to do it all over again, right now, I would still pick the gastric sleeve over the gastric bypass. Good luck with whichever one you decide on.

    POOP.

Where did u get the tea?? Walmart had it but you can probably order it online on Amazon too if your walmart or local store doesn't carry it.
  5. I swear, I feel like my husband is trying to sabotage me or something. I told him 2 days ago "whatever you do, don't get me chocolates. I can't have any. Don't forget". So what does he do? today he got me chocolates. I said "gee thanks but I can't eat them" and his response was "oh I forgot". Well that's why I reminded you just 2 days ago! UGH!! I have been with him since I was 15 years old (for 15 years now) and in the past he has always tried to sabotage my weight loss efforts. I don't give in to it or him anymore though. I get upset with him. I find myself yelling at him a lot now because it pisses me off that he does this to me. He'll say "you know what sounds good? McDonalds chicken nuggets" and I'll scream at him "YOU KNOW I CAN'T EAT THAT CRAP ANYMORE SO WHY DO YOU EVEN BRING IT UP"?? and he'll act like he forgot that I cant eat that stuff. Um hello I had the surgery 2 months ago, have you not seen what I have been eating in the last two months and how small my portions are? I really don't think he is forgetting. I feel like he does it on purpose and it pisses me off! In other news, I went out and bought a pair of jeans that are way too small with the hopes that in the near future I'll get to wear them. I hope this helps to motivate me to stay on the straight and narrow.
  6. It's the little things like this that put a big smile on my face. My BMI is still high but to me down 10 points is a huge difference!! BMI at starting weight: 53.7, now it's currently 43.7 at almost 2 months out from surgery.
  7. You look amazing! Congratulations on the weight loss!!
  8. Thanks guys! I don't know for sure if he really is trying to sabotage me or not. I can only go based on past behavior from him. This isn't new for him, the only difference is I know physically I can not eat more and I have to be careful of what I eat. Miss Mac, I'm sorry for what you have been through. I do read all comments with an open mind. I'm glad you were able to free yourself from the abuse. (((HUGS)))

    POOP.

I wasn't able to go on my own until I was 6 weeks out and even then it wasn't much at all. 1-2x a week I drink a tea called smooth move and that helps move things along. It's a great tasting tea too and helps me to get in my fluids as well. Currently I "go" once or twice a week and the tea helps a lot with that. I am 2 months out from surgery.

Are you sure it was the sleeve she got? I was watching inside edition today and they mentioned she had weight loss surgery but never specified which weight loss surgery she went with. Is getting weight loss surgery going to be the new "cool" thing to do now among celebrities? even those celebrities that really don't need weight loss surgery, because you know they'll still find a surgeon to do the surgery if they really wanted it done. Money talks and bullshit walks.

    Valentine's Challenge

226 today. I was hoping to be 225 which would put me at exactly 50 pounds lost total. But maybe some time this week i'll reach that goal. Congratulations to everyone who reached their weight loss challenge goal. I think for the St. Patrick's day challenge I'll be more realistic about my goal.
  12. So prior to surgery my exercise of choice was breathing (read: I didn't exercise). Now that I have been cleared to exercise beyond just walking I am taking advantage of it. Seriously, I use to hate to exercise and I would avoid it like bubonic plaque. Now I look forward to exercising. When my husband leaves for work and my daughter goes down for a nap I call that my "me time" and I take advantage of that time to exercise. I know everyone needs to find something to do that they really enjoy and I think I finally found it. I had to think back to when I was a child and what I really enjoyed doing and for me that was stretching. I LOVED stretching when I was younger, so much so that I can remember in gym class the teacher brought out this box that you put your legs up against that measured how far forward you could stretch without bending your legs (I beat everyone in class ) so when I went home that day I made my own box and practiced stretching on that and trying to beat my previous measurements. I am currently stretching for 25 minutes, 5x a week plus I add in 3 sets of 10 crunches and 3 sets of 10 leg lifts. So in total about 35 to 40 minutes a day of working out. I put on my ear phones on my tablet and listen to Pandora and workout! What is your 'Me time'? how much exercising are you getting in each week and what do you really enjoy and look forward to doing in regards to exercising? I believe in order to be successful you need to get into a routine and really enjoy what it is you are doing.
  13. My numbers are in my siggy but basically my surgery weight was 262 and I lost 24 pounds the first month. I am 3 weeks into my 2nd month and so far have lost 11 pounds (could be more, I haven't weighed myself this week yet and I have another week to go before I know what my total weight loss is for the 2nd month).
  14. I decided not to tell anyone either, only my husband knows. Almost 3 weeks after surgery I was visiting family and my sister who is 23 years old acts childish sometimes and while I was visiting she proceeded to jump on me and I had to hurry and cover my stomach and told her not to do that. She looked at me weird and then said "what? are you pregnant or something"? Yeah ok, we'll go with that, I'm pregnant so don't jump on me. LOL!
  15. For a while before surgery I got into the habit of not eating anything at least 3 hours prior to bed and it has stuck with me. I was never told I had to wait a certain amount of time between laying down and eating, it's just part of my routine not to eat prior to bedtime.
  16. Congratulations on your weight loss so far! I can't wait till I can be in onederland. I am at almost 50 pounds lost but I still have about 25 more pounds before I'm in the 190's. Looking forward to it!

    Sorry. ..must bring it up!

YES, I know exactly what you mean. It wasn't until last week (week 7) when I was able to go to the bathroom on my own without taking something to help me. I HATED milk of magnesia but it got the job done. Then I found an organic tea that I actually enjoy drinking and its called "smooth move" and that's been helpful in moving things along, so I stick with that now even though I don't feel like I 'need' it as much anymore.
  18. If people can't drink the water there, then what do they drink?

    Biggest Loser Finale

On day one when the show started I picked Rachel out of all the contestants to win The Biggest Loser this season. I just saw something in her and I knew she would be a fighter. Yes my jaw dropped when I saw her walk out on stage and yes I do think she got very thin. With that said however, I do believe that she was so focused and driven on winning the game aspect of the show that she didn't even take into consideration that she might not be in a healthy BMI range. I also think the athlete/competitor in her took over, she knew she was going to go up against guys that weighed more than her and could afford to lose more weight and could easily lose at least 50% of their body weight (which they did) so she probably felt she needed to fight that much harder to lose even more weight in order to win the game. I think sometimes it's harder to win a game like this when you don't have as much weight to lose as some of the other contestants on the show. She was already within 5 pounds of an ideal weight for her height when she left the show but it's clear she didn't feel that would have been enough to beat the boys in the finale. The looks on the trainers faces said it all. I'm sure they took her aside after the show and talked to her about.

  23. I had my 2nd post op appointment today and it was with a NUT and she was upset with me, she said I was losing too much weight too fast. Since my last appointment which was about a week after my surgery I had lost 20 pounds. She said I needed to eat more, that I wasn't eating enough and that is why I'm losing too much weight. This is insane, I have never had anyone tell me that. I feel great for the most part and I feel like I'm eating enough. I eat 3 to 4 small meals a day and I'm getting in anywhere from 500 to 700 calories a day, when I feel satisfied I stop eating, even if I am not finished with my meal. Before surgery I would eat until I felt stuffed, I'm trying hard not to do that anymore. I am only (almost) 7 weeks out from surgery. Luckily I don't need to see her next month when I go back, I see a medical doctor. When I go for my 3 month visit, who do I see? Please tell me NOT a NUT!! Oh and she told me the reason for me feeling light headed when I get out of the tub is because I'm not getting enough Water. I thought I was getting in plenty of water but I'm going to work on trying to get more in and see if that helps at all.
