  1. So...I've joined several sites on VSG on the internet and through Facebook...at almost 10 weeks out' date=' I have had zero issues. Not one. Never thrown up, never nauteous, feeling as if I didn't have the surgery at all. I eat healthy but stop the minute I feel full. Im following the program to the T..Ive stepped up the exercise and the weight is coming off. I feel fantastic but cant help but wonder "when is the bubble going to burst?" ....I cant possibly feel this good for the rest of my life, can I? And I feel horribly guilty for the people who are having the worst time with their sleeve, I do...I just do. The surgery itself was a breeze, no pain at all..just felt like I did a thousand sit up's, never had a single issue from the day of surgery until today. My hair loss is minimum and my energy level seems good. I read the horror stories that people post and honestly wonder if Im going to have any issues down the road. Id love to hear from people who have had a great journey and are out for a while now.....I feel kind of alone :( I know it sounds nuts but when I read these stories, I cannot relate and my nature is to help people and I cant. Sounds nuts right? LOL[/quote']

OMG I am so glad I've came across this post! I'm 8 days Post OP and have not had any issues at all besides feeling like I should be feeling awful or feeling that I should expect complications. I actually got depressed yesterday because I was wondering if the surgery had even worked because I wasn't feeling severe pain while drinking my liquids or trying something new. I am just going to consider myself blessed for having a so far so smooth start :)

  2. Im not worried about the hospital part but I guess it's the lifestyle change that is really getting to me' date=' mainly because I don't know what to expect! As simple as going out with buddies for beer and wings sounds, I really love doing that! Happy you mentioned that one day down the road I will be able to do that[/quote']

I'm 5 days post op and I got emotional seeing a BBQ commercial today.... I guess I'm going through the emotional phase. This is life changing. So far I'm not hungry at all physically but I'm having head hunger. I'm still only on liquids, so I know once I start incorporating solids into my diet things will be different. But what I'm trying to say & to answer your question, it is very life changing.

  3. Just checking in with you all and wanted to say hello... I'm 4 days post op and at times I feel like a hot mess lol I've been on my pain meds lol and sleeping all day. Gonna try to ween myself off the meds in the next few days... But I am doing better, I'm still just very sore around my incisions. It hurts when I try to sit down or get up from bed or the couch. My Protein intake wasn't too good the 1st & 2nd day post op because I didn't follow my nutritionists schedule but yesterday & today I'm right on track. Can't wait until tomorrow where I can move on to full liquids instead of just clear. I'm just taking it day by day trying to get better & start seeing some damn results!!

  4. I will be having my surgery at Cadillac WEST LA KAISER . I was wondering if you all could tell me about your experience with the surgeons there. Please make sure you telle the name of the surgeon...thank you' date=' as always. :-) Good or bad.... just honest[/quote']

Hi, I'm scheduled for surgery next Friday Oct 11th with Dr. Kim. So far so good... He's really nice & very informative :)

    When is your surgery?

  5. I would like to thank every who commented on about Dr. Kim. He definitely lived up to everything everyone said about him. He was very polite' date=' patient, answered all of my questions, explained everything in detailed, he reviewed my chart prior to seeing me like someone said so that really made me feel good. He asked questions that no other surgeon has ever asked me. That made me feel like he really knew his stuff. It really made me feel at ease with him. I have to admit, I was skeptical of getting him at first cause I tend to do background checks on doctors that are going to be performing some kind of medical evasive procedure on me. When I started the options program, I looked up all of the surgeons' licenses to make sure they were valid and had no malpractice or no infractions on their records. Everyone else came back clean except for him. So when I found out I had him, I prayed and asked God to show me why he was given to me. He was given to me cause of my hesistance and he was testing my faith in him. With that being said, God is an awesome God and so is Dr. Kim from what I saw and heard when I met with him yesterday.[/quote']

    Yeyy he's a great doctor!

  6. Hi Everyone' date=' I took my Options classes in Palmdale, but I am having my surgery at Kaiser WLA. I will see Dr. Um on 7/25/13. Hopefully, everything will be fine for them to schedule my surgery soon. How many days did any of you do the liquid diet before surgery? How quickly did Kaiser schedule your surgery after you meet with the surgeon.? Also how many days did any of you stay in the hospital? I am excited and a little anxiety regarding the surgery.[/quote']

Dr Kim doesn't require any liquid diet, just no eating or drinking after midnight the day before surgery. My consult with dr Kim was at 8am they called me the same day around 2pm to schedule me in :) I'm scheduled for Oct 10th, I'm not too worried about staying extra in the hospital... I'm afraid of being in pain at home lol

  7. Hello everyone. Just to let you know; today I meet with the surgeon so I will get my date. I am super excited. I have my list of questions for him. I am meeting with Dr Kim. My appointment is at 2pm. I am curious to find out how soon my new life will begin. I have been praying for this day it seems like forever. I have so much excitement' date=' it is so hard to contain it while I am at work today until I leave for my appointment. I know I will be bouncing off the walls today and gleaming with heavenly joy.[/quote']

We have the same surgeon! Dr. Kim is really nice and very informative... He had reviews my medical history before coming into the room so he didn't ask too many questions like other doctors normally do lol he came in like he already knew me which made me feel at ease... (I also thought he was extremely handsome, just an FYI)

After you meet with him they'll schedule you for a pre op with him & then with the anasteziologist (sp?) on the same day in about a week or so.... He'll have you take some final labs too... I believe his first available appts start mid-end October.I'm scheduled for Oct 11th :)

    Good luck!! :)
