Teachamy got a reaction from tamg26k in What was your most recent NSV? (non-scale victory)
Someone came up to me today looking very serious and said, "what are you doing?" I said, "what do you mean?" They repeated the question. Then they said, "you've lost so much weight! How did you do it?" My real NSV is that I've been at goal for so long now, I had no idea what he was talking about! I used to hear that several times a day, now people are used to the skinny new me. It felt pretty good!

Thanks so much for sharing your story. It is a good reminder for all of us that the sleeve doesn't perform acts of magic or miracles. We are human, we are food addicts, and this can happen!
I'm an all-or-nothing type of person too. I am the type that can talk the talk, but the follow-through of walking the walk is a lot harder, especially if I am feeling overwhelmed. (As I do with housework, work in my profession, exercise, etc.) My advice to you is to start small. First, congratulate yourself for keeping your doctor appointments--it's not always easy, especially if you suspect a lecture is on the way. Secondly, you are taking your Vitamins (deficiencies happen--not your fault!) Third, you are AWARE of what is going on and your therapist is helping you to see why it's happening.
Start small. You are doing some things well. Keep up those habits. Now add in something small. Start by drinking your 64 oz. of Water daily, for example. That's it. Do it until it becomes routine. Don't sweat the other stuff, just Water, deal with water. When that becomes second nature, try some other small step, maybe starting your day with a Protein shake, or making sure you eat an appropriate snack 3 times a day so you don't ever get overly hungry. Again, a small step, not everything, just a step. Stay off the scale. If they weigh you at the doctor, turn away. Don't look. Small steps won't get you where you want to be right away but remember to focus on what is manageable as you look at the underlying causes of your eating habits. It's easy to become impatient, but I really think this is a good place to start. You are feeling overwhelmed and lost, so take a step.
I hope this helps. Again, thanks for sharing.

It's important to note that 1-2 per week is an average. Calculate your average at the end of a month or 2. In other words, if you lost 4 pounds over the course of a month, you are on track. If not, you may be experiencing a plateau, but it will pass.

Most people complain of a "stall" 3-4 weeks post-op. Your body is getting used to the changes and the trauma it has experienced. As everyone just said, if you stick to your plan, the weight will come off. If stepping on the scale is making you crazy, stay OFF it! I weighed once every 2ish weeks only at my bariatric center. If I owned a scale, I'd get on it several times a day and go bananas.

I never had a stall until the very end of this journey. (My medical folks are telling me I'm done losing weight.) What's my secret? I only would weigh once every 2.5 weeks. That way, I only saw major losses, no stalls. Good luck!

    AutumnPunkin,
Thanks so much for sharing! You look fabulous. I have lost 65 pounds (at goal now) and I was wondering if I should expect any skin tightening. My belly is pretty darn saggy! I am doubtful that I will pursue a panni or Tummy Tuck, but I wish all of you the very best!

You're giving too much power to the scale...I had to stop weighing every day. My husband took the scale from me and brought it out once per week and it saved my sanity.
Your body is trying to figure out what's going on...you've been living on liquids for a while, cut back your calories by probably 70% and removed part of a major organ. It's saying, "What else are you going to throw at me!?!?"
So, settle down...if you're consuming less than 1000 calories a day, you'll lose weight. Let your body heal. Let it catch up to all the changes.
Also, instead of the scale, use pictures and measurements as a way to gauge your progress....I guarantee you will see those numbers and images change, even if your scale gives you a different impression.
    Be good to yourself.
