Welcome! Snacks.. yogurt/ baby carrots (10only)/ turkey slices from the deli (prepackaged ones got to salty for me) and popcorn (100 cal pack) I know the popcorn isn't the best but it helped me get away from chips

@fadstabora that is a win! Social situations can be a minefield. It must have felt really good to walk out of Wingers having made good choices@chiquitabananaz14 focus on little consistent steps...getting on the scale is up to you... don't feel defeated, you've reached out for support and it takes guts. Bravo! Not everyday is about the # on the scale we all have areas to work on to make ourselves stronger and more resilient...Just look at this thread...you started with honesty and openness and as a result we all found a place we can come for support and encouragement while we work towards our personal goals... your current choices have had a positive impact on others, that is an NSV if I've ever seen one!! Stay on your path:)

Could you bring an opaque water bottle with a protein shake in it? Sip on that and avoid all the poor foods?...if that's not feasible for you, eat something healthy before you go and then maybe just have either a slice of thin crust pizza or the chicken fingers ( if you can avoid the ranch- I'd struggle with that for sure) Good luck!

@Kathy812 I'm glad you got on BP for some support-- that is what we are here for... We all have low points and I can understand the tendency to be your own worst critic... most things in life don't go to plan...don't worry stick with it and the LBs will peal off! @fadstabora Welcome... 13 years out without community support must be tough, and soda is a killer for me too, even though I only have a little bit here and there... I'm glad you found us! So I am back from our Anniversary weekend away, sorry for the tardy check in we got in late Monday night... I'm feeling pretty good and I can happily report that not only was I able to enjoy the weekend because I banked calories throughout the week, but I made it through both birthdays as well as the wedding with just a small increase... I know we are all shooting for NO GAINS, but I went from 231.2 to 231.4... so up 0.2... With all the temptations, I felt like I made some pretty good choices, and didn't feel like I was missing out....although without a structured schedule this weekend I didn't get all my water in and I know I drank too many calories, especially since I chose to add a packet of sugar to my coffees this weekend.... I am fully back on board with my meal plan as of today, and am hoping without any big plans coming up I can start seeing the scale move like everyone else...I really hope I can get into the low 220's before the end of July.. fingers crossed for some steady losing...

    New Job Opportunity

I haven't applied to anything post op-- but I did get a significant promotion after losing weight-- and my annual increases post op are greater % than pre op...meanwhile the reviews themselves have remained consistent in scoring and comments...funnily enough I was working harder when I was heavier-- maybe bc I was less social then? Anyway it's not like we all didn't know there was a fat tax levied against heavy people... just glad I'm not being penalized anymore

Thanks@kathy812 it's possible that just sharing hear kept me on the better track with food choices last week.... I hope your feeling better from that bug Thanks for the tips@Liz210 One of the birthdays is at Benihana so I've looked up their menu and will build my meals for the day so that I can enjoy the party with everyone and still eat Thur hibachi chicken and veggies- I'll have to skip the rice there which is so yummy.. it's ok though I keep thinking to myself is this (rice / or whatever is tempting me at the moment) better than being in the 100's?? That little trick has been helping me

What was it about yesterday?? I had a hard one too… Our office has been doing potlucks every day this last week-- luckily I traveled on mon/ tues half days, so I was only really tempted on wed/ Thursday-- and I made it through Wed with flying colors. But then comes Thursday when one of my coworkers put a smuckers crustless pbj snack pack on my desk 1st thing in the morning—after I told her not to repeatedly the previous day-- she's a nice woman, means well, but I wish she had just not-- I put it in my lunch bag "away." But then kept thinking about it -- finally gave in and ate the 210 cal monstrosity and was not satisfied at all-- I had to remove some of my better and planned snacks to compensate for those empty calories. Still the indulgence left me craving sliders the rest of the day, and I was mad at myself...Then I go to Fitmill class after work, which is this circuit low impact HIIT format where we have this fill in instructor who is pregnant… there I struggled through the whole class….all the ladies under 200lbs seemed to breeze through the class and I started to tear-up during abs thinking "How did I let myself backslide so far! I mean I was there I WAS IN ONEDERLAND!!" I could have caught it earlier, why did I let myself not care about my health- yes there were miscarriages, but I knew rationally those weren't my fault, and the doctors confirmed they could not be prevented, but that should have made me more focused on being healthy, not less, I knew it would make our future chances better not worse-- why did I go back to feeling worthless?!? Why did I punish myself in my grief? I knew better, I know better...ugh! I realize that I was already having a hard food day and beating myself up over that… and that having the class instructor announce her pregnancy probably hit me in a tender place when I was already feeling low… I can honestly say that I don’t begrudge successful pregnancies and I don’t start blubbering uncontrollably when I see or hold babies, I just pray that next time we will be the lucky ones, because this type of loss is hard, it was hard the first time and it feels compounded the second time. Logically I know as time goes by it will be less raw….logically…Anyway I made it through class, ate a healthy dinner of salmon to compensate more, although I was way over my carbs at 157 grams, my total calories came in at 1728, my net calories consumed came in at 1042 and I'm still here today….. Normally I try to be more uplifting and keep a positive outlook… Yesterday was hard… thanks for allowing me someplace to be honest and candid…

I've been doing Monday mornings... it really helps me to keep my weekend activities in check knowing that I weigh in on Monday. For me at least, weekends are so much less regimented and harder to control in terms of food choice..... so when I put in a really great week of eating within calories (and now, my macros!) goals and if i have an opportunity to really blow all that self discipline over the weekend, knowing I have a weigh in on Monday where I check in with this thread and update my mfp, helps me to make a healthier choice any way I vote for Mondays

I have fallen down a slippery slope :(

It's not too late! Don't get into the habit of drinking your calories... yes I suggest you go back to morning protein shakes, increasing your water consumption and logging everything you eat into mfp

Hi everyone! Checking in after my weigh in I'm down again! The back to basics is working!! I'm at 230 so 8 lbs are toast going to keep at it I've been using mfp religiously and having breakfast everyday, I have bean eating a variety of foods- meats- veggies- fruits- and I'm recognizing head hunger again, instead of mindlessly grazing through the day. Also logging my next days food in mfp the day before has really helped me to stay on track with calories and protein intake- especially on more hectic travel days... it's also helping me to smooth out intake over the whole day... I was less successful then I hoped with last weeks workout plan-- I didn't make it to any spin classes- I could drag myself out of bed- well I could have but my determination lapsed in the early morning hours-- I made it to two of my fitmill classes and we also did a 6 mile hike on Saturday.... so I definitely have some improvements to make this week in terms of workouts...I'm committing to going in afternoons to spin unless I get up in the morning... the goal is to go!!! How's everyone else doing with activity?

Do you think they were worth buying? I was thinking of picking some up- my husband has his snack bag of chips in the house and I thought it might be good to have an alternative near by in case my will started to be tested

Maybe you can shift some calories or meals to later in the day....like start with your protein shake after 9am then shift everything till later... that way your later snacking is actually a scheduled meal
  23. Did everyone loose all restriction after pregnancy? Did restriction return for anyone? How was restriction during pregnancy?
