My journey just began but I do have one real regret....that I didn't do this sooner! Like at least 10 years sooner!

I made the graffiti for an odd habit I have of posting on threads that I am sure will be deleted. Kind of like painting on a wall set for demolition. Unfortunately, the mods here are on their toes and the duplicate thread was gone before I got back. So I posted here on a regular wall. Hope I don't have to get a brush and soap and clean it off.

I just received my EOB yesterday & for the sleeve, it was nearly $17,000 & my insurance paid all but $450. From most people I have heard their surgery was around the $20,000 mark. I can't believe yours was $120,000??!!! Wow....maybe they're planning on building a new wing onto the hospital!

What are you doing? Oh, you're only taking the steps necessary to get your health and quality of life back! How can improving your health and, by association, your life be 'mad'?
Also, in regards to the surgery buddy thing, I was sooo bummed about not having a surgery buddy but there should be other people scheduled at the same time as you. Omar took myself and three other ladies (two of which had just had the same surgery) out shopping post-surgery. Even though I didn't get to connect to them prior to surgery I feel like I have a couple of surgery buddies just because of the fun we had exploring and shopping together. You can contact *susan* or Omar and they'll let you know if other people are having surgery around the same time as you and maybe you can contact your buddies that way?

I had so much to do today, tons of client deliverables, most of them time-sensitive, lots of phone calls...so what did I do? I started a blog. Will you check it out and tell me what you think?
    http://sleevers.wordpress.com/
If I can geek out for a minute, wordpress ROCKS. I literally did that from 8 am until now, while in between deliverables and during boring conference calls. Much of the content was stuff I had posted here, but it has a nice, handy dandy recipes tab for the few recipes I've posted here since people ask me frequently how they can see my recipes while on their phones. Well, here we go.
I have a feeling this is all because I'm trying desparately not to weigh today ---oh hey! and succeeding so far!

Pixie Dust got a reaction from Arts137 in Pre-op diet and diabetes
By watching my carbs prior to surgery, my sugar always tested great but I was also on Glumetza daily. Once I started the 2 week pre-op diet, my PCP told me to drop the Glumetza (but the doc at the hospital where I was having the surgery told me I should stay on them...I decided to go with my PCP instead being that it costs me $200 per month for the Glumetza). I have felt fine & tomorrow I go back to my PCP to be tested & I'm 7 weeks out...so hoping I won't have to go back on them! I'm even hoping to be taken off another med!
With something as serious as Diabetes, I would ask your doc those questions. We're all just sharing our own personal experiences. Good luck to you!

Pixie Dust got a reaction from FRED1977 in The infamous 3 week stall
I'm so glad to read this post...I too have been in a stall for what seems forever but I believe its been 2 weeks now, just seems longer. I keep going up & down the same 2 lbs. I'm staying just below 800 calories & getting my Water in so have no clue what the problem is, except that I keep reading it's normal. Well, I DON'T LIKE IT ONE BIT! Grrrrrrr! Yet, I do see my clothes are fitting me differently & I'm swimming in some of my tops that I couldn't wear because they were too snug on me so something is happening but I want to see it on the scale! WAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!! I do have a love/hate relationship with my scale ~ always have, always will! (Well, maybe I'll really love my scale when I reach my goal!)

I like to say that we all probably have someone we want to see us with the weight gone. My biggest one was family members that and others that think they know everything......but basically I refocused to me, because after all, "it's all about me." LOL
