I can so identify with you. I posted the same question after my sleeve. (I was sleeved two weeks ago today). I kept reading and hearing people in my support group say how they couldn't even finish the 1/4 cup of liquid broth. I was starving on my ten day post op liquid diet. I am now on a full liquid for one week (cottage cheese, yogurt) and I'm feeling much better. I still can devour my 1/4 cup rations in two minutes without any pain or issues and haven't felt that full feeling yet, but I dealing well with it. The folks on this site have been great, and I've been reassured I'll feel the fullness when I start eating normal food. I had read somewhere, and I can't recall, that maybe my stomach is still just numb from the surgery and that's why I don't get that ful feeling and feel hungry? Sounds like a good reason to me, so I'm sticking by it! I love your line about demanding a refund You are funny!!!!! Keep up the humor and we will get through this.
Today is my two week anniversary too. I've been hungry for two weeks!

Loved your post!
As for me, I'm still not at the "loving" stage because I just graduated to pureed foods (oh joy!) But I hope I can find all the happiness you found in #1-6!
Agree with watching the clock. It's something that requires effort & I just want things to be easy. I hope I'm at least down 47 by my 8th week. That's awesome!!

Hungry, hungry, hungry! I told my husband that tomorrow when I meet with my surgeon (1st time post-op appt), I'm going to demand a refund because I think he just poked some holes in my belly but left my tummy in. I hear my tummy growling all day long (& yes I've taken my PPI too) & I'm feeling hungry. He left the grehlin (?) part in there too!

Do you have a special recipe for the mini crustless quiche? How many can you eat (I'm thinking its done in a muffin tin...maybe the tiny ones?)

Does your employer offer more than 1 insurance plan? Some employers offer a few diff insurance companies & each insurance company offers different options. Just something to look into. You may have to wait till open enrollment, which is only once a year, but it could give you time to look around?

Holy Moley, that's incredible!!! Are you able to eat salad at 2 months already? I can't wait!! I'm just 2 weeks out tomorrow & am dreaming about eating real food again. You look incredible & you have a movie star's name! **Big bold voice** "Starring Lawrence Washington with Tom Cruise & Vin Diesel in (insert movie name here)..." Keep us updated on your progress....it gives us hope!

Good luck to you! Don't be nervous, it really wasn't anything to be so nervous about having been thru it myself. Check back with us!

I have a 3 year old who is non verbal with autism. I plan on having my husband bring him in to see me.
Off topic but my son was non verbal until he was nearly 4.5 years old. Then music took him out of his silent world. I had him in therapy since he was 18 months. They had him carry 2 liter bottles of Water (old soda bottles filled with water). Something about opening his air way? I really don't remember but he loved carrying those heavy bottles. I guess it's good for them to do that. I think it's a good idea that he comes to see his mommie. Good luck to you!

I have an 11 y/o son who is autistic so he is more like a 5/6 y/o & he is VERY attached to me. It was hard enough for me not to be home one night that I had to be in the hospital so there was no hesitation in my husband bringing him to the hospital to visit me. Just my husband had to warn him ahead of time that he couldn't just jump on me when he saw me. So he approached me very carefully & gently & then sat across the room on the chair talking to me. He said I looked very tired. Overall, it was a good decision in our family's case but everyone is different.
The best part was that while he was there, the doctor came in to see me & told me I was being released since I was doing so well (okie dokie, hate to think how it was for people who didn't do so well...eek! ) So I got to tell my son that I was getting to go home & he couldn't help me fast enough to toss stuff in my bag so that he could help get his mommie home asap!
Good luck on your decision but I think your child will be fine & happier to see you looking tired, versus not seeing you at all. Just my opinion.

I have horrible breath! My youngest came up to me one day & said that I smelled like "poopy"! OMG! I can actually taste the bad breath too! I hate it! I brush my tongue & it stays looking white too from the toothpaste. Yuck.

Hi I m a state employer of MI and have Bluecare Network through Bluecross does anyone know will they pay for this procedure and did anyone have to jump through hoops for this? Thank you.
Hi Cupcake,
I just asked my husband because he works for BCNM & he said you'd have to call Customer Services to find out because each company that purchases Blue Care Network for their employees also have the option to purchase different types of rider plans. Since you work for the State, he thinks it will be a covered benefit but you may have to do a 3 month documented diet plan depending what your BMI is. Each company purchases different plans thru BCN so if you call Customer Service, they can let you know in detail what may or may not be required of you!
He works for BCN, but we have Blue Cross insurance & my 6 month documented diet requirement was waived because my BMI was over 50. I was just sleeved on July 16th. Good luck to you! I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised at what your plan may cover!

At least you didn't eat your children!!! :-)
This is true! LMAO!!!!! Well, I should have started on my teen son but he's too sour right now (we all know teens, right? ) Then there's my 11 y/o autistic son & he's just too sugary & sweet & I have to stay away from sweets, so I had to find something else! Therefore, potatoes it was!

My husband says I was crankier, probably the hormones. I find my attention spand has decreased too. Exercise seems to help burn off the nervous energy.

I had the attention span of a gnat anyways (I'm ADHD) but I do feel I'm even more forgetful than usual.....now what were we talking about??

Yeah, my inner b***h is coming out a lot. Hey, ya' think it's because I'm not pushing the anger down with food anymore?
Hey! I think you may have touched on something here! It could very well be true! Oye....my poor kids! I just thought it was their imagination that I've been cranky.

P.S. Great job on your weight loss!

My youngest has told me I've been pretty crabby lately, but in reference to stupid people, like you encountered today, I just can't help myself but to set them straight & it has nothing to do with weight loss.

I'm supposed to be on full liquids for 2 full weeks & I was sleeved on 7/16. I've been starving! Today I broke down & made a portion of Idahoan 4 cheese mashed potatoes (they come in little cups, just add Water & nuke.) OMG, I thought I was eating some gourmet food! It went down well (I did eat slow) & for the first time in a week, I won't be going to bed hungry!
I have an appt on Wed with my surgeon & I'm going to tell him I want a refund! I thought he was supposed to cut out that part of your tummy that brings on hunger. He must have missed mine because I could eat a subway sandwich most times!

Wow! I can see a big difference too!!! Hope you're not going to be one of those down to 120 lbs & still seeing the same old "you"??!!! Look again at your picture alone ~ major diff!! Good for you!!

Every Doc & NUT will tell you differently. I went thru one program that said no caffeine ever again & the program I ended up going with (& not for this reason but I'm happy about it anyway), says I can go back to caffeine after 6 weeks (I think) but that Decaf is fine for now. I'm actually liking decaf okay but I know I'll eventually want a little cup of my favorite drink each morning again! Not too soon tho, I can wait.

**Raising hand wildly** Ooooohhh....me, me, me!!!! I do normally have painful knees due to arthritis but since my surgery, the pain has been absolutely ridiculous! Exactly like you mentioned too, can't keep your legs one on top of the other if I sleep on my side because of the knee pain! What in the world is this from???
I have 2 follow up appts this coming week, I hope I remember to ask at both appts what could be causing this?

Such a pretty girl! Watch out world!!!! Good for you!!
