  1. PALAK PANEER IS MY VERY FAVORITE food IN THE UNIVERSE!!! I don't know if you have Trader Joe's where you live, but they have a boxed palak paneer that I literally buy them out of every time. It's one of the few "normal people" foods I've been able to eat in the last couple weeks. If I'm not able to do this for my dinner tomorrow, I will definitely be keeping your suggestions for future meal ideas!

I'm going to call our Trader Joe's tomorrow to see if they have any of this! I just googled it & am pretty sure I'm going to be a big fan of it!

  2. Well, I haven't moved on from friends for the exact reasons you did but I did move on from a friend who was just such a Debbie Downer that I just finally gave up! I think that's the reason you gave up on this one, not because she smoked or was overweight but because she had a way of bringing you down & we just don't need people like that in our lives ~ ever. I felt so free once I stopped communicating with that one friend. I felt bad too at times because I know she had problems but sometimes I felt she brought on her own problems. I do still think of her at times, even tho I moved 2000 miles away about 17 years ago & I do wish her well, but I also can't be happier about her not being in my life anymore!

Move on sweetie, & never look back!

  3. My feet were fat. And now they're skinnier just like the rest of me. I've worn crocs so long... and now I love trying on strappy heels!

I wear Crocs & sneakers with orthodics (?) in them. I love my Crocs & have several pair in several diff colors. I have 2 pair of dressy shoes for weddings/funerals. That's about it. It's no fun dressing up at nearly 300 lbs so didn't care anymore. Once I lose a decent amount of weight, I'm going shoe shopping! Can't wait to wear strappy heels!

  4. The Calcium/Vit D pills I got r horse pills! And the recommended dosage is 4x a day. The guy that works at The Vitamin Shoppe said thats the way they come. If they were to make a Calcium/Vit D pill to come in the recommended dosage, it would be as big as the bottle.

Oh, maybe cuz it's got Calcium added to it? Duhhh....

Yes, it could be because Calcium is added to it. My Vitamin D pills are tiny. I got the chewable calcium squares in chocolate & also raspberry flavor. They're pretty good!

  5. I had the same fears as you only I'd be leaving behind an 11 y/o autistic son & an 18 y/o son & my wonderful husband. I bit the bullet & went ahead with the surgery & feel I made the best decision. The surgery itself was really nothing. I remember feeling worse after having my tonsils out at 5 or 6 y/o. I'm only 2 weeks out but have had a decent weight loss so far. I just hope it keeps on moving. The only regrets I have so far is that I didn't do it sooner. I wasted my youth being heavy & unable to participate in life so hope to make up for lost time. Go for it & don't look back sweetie! It's also very normal to be afraid & have doubts. I'm sure everyone goes thru it.

  6. Ground turkey or chicken or beef? I love the chicken burgers with carmelized onions from Sam's Club ~ I can't remember the brand name but they are delish! I'm not up to that stage yet as I just entered the pureed stage. :-( I even love those black bean burger patties from Costco! They're very tasty! Also, how about grilling veggies after marinating in low cal Italian dressing? I love grilled veggies, especially zucchini & red peppers with just a tiny drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. Hoping I can eat all that stuff soon! Especially before BBQ'ing season is over!

  7. I found a couple online. I looked at Big Oven and a couple of the food network chef sites. The only thing I adjust is the crust. Here's a good one i like:

http://www.foodnetwo...cipe/index.html - I use only the egg whites and usually use turkey meat or bacon (nitrate free) in the place of the sasauge. I then grease a mini muffin tin and let me tell you, 3 of those minis keep me full for hours.

As an FYI, you might have to chop your veggies even smaller due to the small tins.

Okay, so you don't use the pie shell this recipe calls for, right? (Thanks for posting by the way!)

  8. Same with me. Nothing heavier than a gallon of milk. Can you try to lighten the load? Or maybe what you have in your backpack now, maybe you can squeeze into your wheeled bag on the way home? They also sell backpacks on wheels. I may be confused, are you taking the weekender along with the backpack? If not, I'd take the one on wheels. That can be brought on the plane with you anyway.

BTW, that is one cute puppy!! Is it a Bichon Frise? We just got one of those a few weeks ago.

    Good luck to you!

  9. You can eat ground turkey 2 weeks post -op?? I should of had your doctor! I did manage to eat a 1/4 cup of chicken salad I made myself today but I'm not even supposed to eat that yet. I'm supposed to puree everything but my blender doesn't work so great so I just took teeny tiny bites & chewed, chewed, chewed! LOL!

Sounds like you had a wonderful time! I can't wait to eat out with my family again!
