    Feeling REALLY down

All the ladies (& gentleman) above me said EXACTLY what I wanted to say but I couldn't see through my tears after I read your post! Don't lose hope before you even start! You picked out the perfect name for yourself here, "Never be the same again!" So go for it!! I do understand what you're saying though, I see people's pre-op weight & I dream of being THAT weight! You know what though, I firmly believe in "better late than never!" Just think how fast your numbers will drop after your surgery! You will lose an incredible amount of weight in a very short time. Just have a little faith, trust & we're all sending you some "pixie dust!" Be blessed!

    Those dont fit...

That must be so exciting!!! I had a friend tell me yesterday that she was a 3X & in 3 months she's down to a medium! I can't imagine the thrill of that alone, but she said she now wants to wear her labels sticking out so they see her size "M"! Haha!! I'm sure I'll be the same!!

Not as much support as I thought.

OMGoodness, I just noticed all the weight you have lost so far, on your own!!! You Rock Ms Wisdom!!!! Way to go!!!

Not as much support as I thought.

I'm sorry about your man not being supportive. It's so important to have support from the one you love. I have to say, I must be married to a saint! No matter HOW MANY times I started a new diet, my husband was always supportive of me. Even though it would cost us money we didn't have. In his eyes, if it gave me hope, then he was all for it. That's how a loved one should be. Then after I failed, as I always did, he never once came back to throw it in my face. I would be hard enough on myself, so I'm sure if he had thoughts of saying anything negative, he probably didn't have the heart! LOL! I'm saying all this because this is the way it should be. Support, love, patience, kindness....all very important qualities we need to help us succeed easier, BUT if you don't have that support, you can still succeed on your own, it's just that you have to work harder at it, mentally. Please don't rely on anyone but yourself to get you through this. In reality, this really is a personal journey, so try not to be discouraged. Just prove him wrong! You come to us & we'll give you all the support you need!

I so agree with your thoughts! She really should be! She's stunning!
  10. Amen sister! Like you, if I could diet, I wouldn't need to have my stomach ripped out of me! Thanks for the tip on where to find the bouillon! Makes sense...I had completely forgotten that aisle! Thank your husband too!

    6 months pics

Really incredible! Almost like mother/daughter seeing the before & after pics! I sure hope that happens to me too but I have far more to lose than you did! You look GREAT (as Tony the Tiger would say!) Haha!
  12. OMGoodness Cerenatee, you really made me burst out laughing with the "birds came out & birds were singing" comment!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Thank you for the good belly laugh! Anyway, please tell me where you found that! I know you said costco but what aisle was it in? What was down the same aisle as I can't even picture bouillon being sold there? Another friend of mine from this forum shared her homemade chicken Soup recipe & now I'm embarrassed to say that I've NEVER made a homemade soup (except for my Mom's Asparagus soup but I learned that when I was little). I'm not normally a soup eater, so I never bothered to learn but her recipe sounds good. I just don't have a pot as big as the one she recommends. Considering I'll be the only one eating it, I think it would be far less trouble if I end up liking a bouillon instead. No clean up either really. So I've heard some docs require 2 weeks liquid diet prior to surgery & my current surgeon requires 1 week liquid diet & another doc which I'm considering as well, requires 1 week of 4 Protein drinks & a regular dinner each day. Crazy how they all differ so much! Good luck to you & also Sabrina on your Thursday surgery!

  19. HAHA! That was my question too! I went to your profile to see if you had your weight listed, but you didn't & I'm curious as heck! Anyway, even without knowing, that AWESOME!!! Congratulations to you! I'm sure that was so nice to hear from your doctor!! I know I'd fall over if my doc ever said that to me!!!

    May 8th meet with surgeon

You're welcome Cheeze! I haven't had my surgery yet. My surgery date is July 15th because I requested summer surgery, when my kids are out of school. I'm just going by the plan that I was given when I attended my first meeting. The program director of the hospital where I'm supposed to have my surgery gave me a plan list & I have had to go thru the check list getting different appointments done & testing done. But she said, once you meet your surgeon, you get your surgery date & that's pretty much it!

    May 8th meet with surgeon

My understanding is if you've met all your criteria or are working towards it, that first meeting with your surgeon is usually when you set a surgery date. That's how mine went anyway. Good luck to you & so wonderful you have a very supportive boyfriend! Support from loved ones makes a world of difference in the outcome of your journey!

    YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID!

This thread is hysterical! Thank you for the belly laugh today!
  23. No kidding?? I wonder why our sense of smell changes? Just like MichiganChic, I too had a very sensitive sense of smell when I was pregnant but no other time. I guess something to look forward to...or not ??!!! Then again, I have heard that things taste different too. Things you used to love to eat are no longer appealing? Strange??

    Hanging skin

I had asked my surgeon about this when we met last week (I'm pre-op) & he said it all depends on your age, & how long you've been obese. I'm out of luck. I'm 53 & I've been obese for nearly 20 years now. Good luck to you!

    I need clothes! Sizes 16-12

I am saving mine for when I get to those sizes again but you can hit thrift stores/Salvation Army in your area! I have found 2 Coach purses at my Salvation Army. Paid $7 for each! Have seen really cute clothes too for $3. Good luck!
