    Beer

I had some Ace Pear at like 2 months out. Probably whenever carbonation is ok, beer is ok. I know my pain medication was so much stronger than a beer and I took that from the day of surgery for almost two months. No I am not an addict either, I have a blood clot. :-D

    Any regrets

I got a blood clot in my hepatic vein post surgery. It was so painful I felt like I was dying. I was on Clear liquids for 4 weeks, and in and out I the hospital during that time. I could have whined, but I chose to walk instead. I walked all over the hospital. Determined to drop pounds. Focus on what's important. Get a grip. Take a walk and Celebrate that you will be able to be with your kids longer. Suck it up. Liquids is only for a little while. Don't let your life revolve around food anymore. You are in control. You! Not the food! Stomach gremlins are only for a little while from the liquid diet. They will go away and then you will pray to have those back because you can't poop. Haha. Or at least I pray for the gremlins sometimes.
  3. Today was really exciting. I ran my first 5k in 37 minutes. Slower than my usual because of herding issues at the paint stations. Yes I said paint. It was the neon splash dash. What fun and what a victory. First is me in August of 2012, second is me after, and third is me in the middle before the race.

why did I eat that pecan roll?

Try putting on your old clothes or look at old photos of yourself. You can find your motivation again! You can do this!! Get that crap out of your house. It's too tempting. Or say ok I can eat that after I have my protein and most likely you won't want it.

    Any regrets

Glad you said number 2. My husband actually said it was easier for a couple of reasons. I am not so wide or thick so his arms don't get so tired, and my hip bones are handles now. Lol!!
  7. It all depends on the day. I can usually only eat one but some days I could probably eat two. Don't over analyze your intake. If you are eating and satisfied on significantly less than you were pre-sleeve you are fine. Those tacos are a good treat. I eat the Doritos loco supreme one fairly frequently. Once every week or two. Low in calories, crunchy and yum. Only neg is the sodium.

It takes a little while to get over the omg phase, but when you really see and believe the difference in your body, you will be sold on it. For me it was the first pair of pants that fell off as I was walking. Then it was the going in any bathroom stall and fitting. I still have a hard time believing when I hold up my pants that I will actually fit in them, but slip them right on and they are a little big. You won't regret it.

    My first 5k Done

You can do it! I used to hate running, but now I hate to stop. I really look forward to the end of the day when I can just let out all my stress on the pavement or treadmill. For me it was setting this goal (the 5k) that got me running, but it's the improvement in my speed and endurance, the tone in my legs and those pounds flying off that keeps me going. Running did make me stall for a couple of weeks as my body adjusted, but now it's got me back up to dropping about a pound a day on most days. 5 weeks ago I couldn't run for even 5 minutes on a treadmill. Now my first mile is about 10 minutes. I remember the day I got to a 12 minute mile. I was so excited that I reached that arbitrary time milestone. Well not so arbitrary. In high school you were supposed to run a mile in 12 minutes or less for the presidential fitness test. I struggled with that in high school even though I was relatively thin (size 10ish). Now I can outrun many of my husband's soccer players, and I'll be honest, I can even outrun my husband. Even at 193 pounds. I feel great about myself.

It was a blast and thanks for the compliments. I still have a long way to go. 40-50lbs. But staying active will help me get there.

    Rings!

There are two kinds. Rubber cheap and temporary and the metallic semi permanent ones that are more expensive. I like the look of the metal better. I got mine at fast fix a jewelry repair place in the mall.

    Rings!

They have little sizer clips you can buy for cheap. You buy it and clip it on. Sizes you down a bit.
  17. I personally drink only diet soda. No Water. 3.5 months post op and my doc has no problem. 71lbs down so no restriction issues. Why don't we answer the question asked instead of judging? I mixed unflavored now foods whey Protein isolate with decaf iced tea sweetened with Splenda. I found it tastes a little milky. I will try the fruity route.
