    Help! I'm hungry!

I'm day 12 post op and been on eggs, beans and cottage cheese since day 6. Tomorrow I add turkey, canned chicken, seafood - too many to list. I think every dr is so different.

    Sounds like you're dehydrated
  4. Lol I had 13 staples in my 6 incisions.... there was no pain at all with them. They just ease them out. It was less painful than stitches.
  5. I don't think everyone does. I had mine pulled before I went home and it didn't hurt.
  6. I'm 9 days out and the experience was not bad. I did not have any gas pain. I had staples and a drain. The drain was sore but mine was pulled the next morning. My biggest problem was inflammation which made it hard to swallow anything. This only lasted about 3 days. I had my staples pulled yesterday and zero pain...I was freaking over that more than anything. As of today, I have zero pain unless I bend over wrong. I can now swallow a full drink without any pain and I have had no nausea at all. Everyone's experience is so different. You will do fine! !

I don't think you're hurting anything. I'm 8 days postop and on eggs, cottage cheese and refried beans already per my surgeon. I do fine with it. I think it's just a different opinion of surgeons.

    Hiccups?

I have the same thing and I asked my surgeon today during my post op appt. He stated this is stomach spasms and its an indication of fullness, eating to fast or just over working your stomach.
  9. Hey guys...I am one week post op and wanted to share an app that helps you eat slower which = less pain :-D It's called "Eat Slower". You set it on whatever interval you want. I have mine set on 2 minutes and it notifies me every time i can take a bite. This helps me realize I'm full faster and to avoid the "I took one too many bites" syndrome!

  11. I did buy some gas x but I have only taken them a few times. I was lucky and had minimal gas. A lot of people had a ton of gas after surgery. Jon, feel free to message me if you want to chat or have any other questions. Seems Like every day is different. Today I was successful at getting more than one shake down however I have terrible hiccups all day.
  12. You may want to ask Dr Hamilton about the meat in the evening. They don't offer it on the paper they give us but will allow it on this preop diet. It kept me sane. I didn't do it everyday but I did the first week. The second week I was pumped and stayed focused without wanting food.
  13. Same place I went! :-) I haven't done any recording except weekly pictures. First day of surgery was not too bad. I had a lot of inflammation which caused me some issues and pain but not everyone has that. Today is the best I've felt and its exactly one week.
  14. The first few days were ok for me. I was on a 14 day liquid diet. About day 4 or 5 I wanted to eat someone lol I learned that most of it was mental. Also drink more water everytime you start getting hungry. What Dr are you going to? I lost 15lbs during the 14 days. My Dr also allowed me to have 3oz of lean deli meat or chicken breast at night if needed.
  15. Good luck to You! I am from Kansas City as well. I am one week post op with no regrets :-)
