Have you been tracking your measurements? With all the Protein and working out, it's likely that you're building muscle, which weighs more than fat. I wouldn't be surprised if your measurements are still shrinking!

I would be very interested to see what kind of correlation there is between the depth of pre-surgical program and the incidence of those expressing regrets. I'd be willing to bet there is a strong inverse correlation.
    (OK, I know I'm speaking math-eze)
I wonder if more of those with regrets went through less/shorter requirements and preparation pre-surgery?

It really doesn't have to be all or nothing. I mean every now and then I have a slice of pizza or half a cheeseburger. That's not going to make me fat again. What would make me fat is if I ate a whole pizza and a whole cheeseburger with fries and coke regularly. But that isn't going to happen because my stomach does not have enough capacity for that. Everyone should lighten up on themselves and on others.

Chris R got a reaction from Butterthebean in How many carbs should I be eating?
I've seen this question posed on here several times, but have never really seen a good answer to it. Today I had my 2-month follow-up with my NUT, and lo and behold, she shared a recent article from "The Bariatric Times" addressing that very question. I'll post the link, but the bottom line was for the first year post-op, keep carbs under 90 grams, and after 1 year under 130 grams.

I've always said if you aren't comfortable enough with someone to fart in front of them, then you shouldn't consider having a long-term romantic relationship with them.

50 lbs in 3 months is 4 lbs a week! That's about the same rate I've been losing, and I weighed 390 at surgery, and I'm very happy with that. Remember, that works out to a 2000 calorie per day deficit. Don't stress about it!

I was 450 when I started the program, lost 60 lbs in 9 months pre-op, and have lost 38 more in 9 weeks post-op. I feel confident that I will be able to reach my goal of 150, a 300 lb total loss. The sleeve is a great tool, you just have to follow the directions!

Chris R got a reaction from ProudGrammy in 100 lbs gone!
As of today, I've lost 100.6 lbs since I first began my gastric surgery program on May 5, 2012. I lost 60 lbs in 9 months pre-surgery. I've lost 40 in the 9 weeks since surgery on my 50th birthday, February 12, 2013.
I feel more restriction now, 9 weeks out, than I did at 3 weeks out. I'm no longer using Protein Shakes regularly, though I do occasionally add unflavored Protein powder to a smoothie when I need to get a little more protein in. I shoot for about 35% protein, 35% carbs, and 30% fats, and under 1000 calories per day.
I still have a long way to go - another 200 lbs to goal - but I feel confident that I will get there. I never used to think I wanted surgery to lose weight, but after losing up to 85 lbs at a stretch at least 3 times before in my life, and then gaining it all back again, plus more each time, I'm glad I made this decision and found a tool that will help me keep this up for the long haul!

I found it more sickening than amusing. Apparently the patients have an open port into their stomach? Sounds like it's begging for an infection. I agree with the reviewer who said it's an enabling machine, and horrifying!

I am only 9 weeks out and am able to get at least 60 g of Protein in most days without doing any protein supplements. On the occasional off day, I make a fruit smoothie and add some unflavored Protein powder if I'm having trouble getting enough in.
My NUT told me it's better to eat your meals than drink them! Focus on high protein foods first, and you certainly will NOT have yo drink Protein shakes for the rest of your life.
