I took mine with no interruptions at all (Quasense, a generic Seasonale) and have not noticed anything I would call a hindrance. The pill however, still didn't prevent my period from trying to creep up early on me though... at least I had read here enough to know that was a "thing" and didn't panic. HTH.

I had a great recovery. No nausea, no vomiting, no Constipation, no diarrhea. I was up and walking within an hour after surgery and didn't even get into the hospital bed in my room until 10 PM that night when I decided to try to sleep.< /p>
No food has disagreed with me. I've hit my Protein and fluid goals every single day since the day after surgery.
I'm not surprised that you are seeing a lot of posts from people with issues and complications. That's how people tend to use a forum like this -- for help if something goes wrong. But meanwhile I am pretty sure there are tons of us out there who have had nothing go wrong.
    Best wishes to you!

I'm almost 6 wks post op & I had minimal pain when I woke up in recovery. Minimal pain at home, to this day have never vomited, had nausea, diarrhea or Constipation. No food I've introduced has disagreed with me. I couldn't have asked for a better recovery! I went back to work after 2 weeks off. I was tired at first but that went away as I was able to take in more Protein. My only complaint was I got a UTI from the catheter in the hospital but that really wasn't anything antibiotics couldn't handle. good luck to you I hope your experience is just as great!

Totally! My BP was normal & my sleep apnea gone a week post-op! I lost 19 lbs on the pre-op diet & 20 more in the 5 weeks since surgery. I was sidelined by a UTI from the catheter I had in the hospital. The antibiotics I took after that slowed my weight loss & I stalled for 10 days but I am back on track & losing again. I had minimal pain, have yet to be nauseated, vomit, diarrhea or be constipated. I've been extremely lucky & I am so very thankful!

Game girl......thank you thank you thank you! I am 5 weeks out & obsessing with the scale & my weight tracker apps. I beat myself up all day over my fluctuations. It is depressing to see lose a lb, gain 1.5, lose 0.5 gain 1.5....ugh it's so frustrating. Thank you all for making me realize it's normal & to put the scale away!

I was sleeved sept 10th & went back to work Sept 23. I have a desk job so there's not much movement. I was sore & tired the first couple of days but I don't think I went back too soon. Good luck to you!

I am pre-op so by no means know what I am saying, but other forums have talked about Isopure and other Protein waters. My Nut suggests cutting the sweetness with plain yogurt. Good luck and keep us posted on what works.

In my first 7 days being sleeved, the top 10 things I have learned :
    1) In the world of competitive sleeping, I am a Gold Medalist. I can (& do) nap anytime, anywhere.
    2) I am hanging up my stethoscope. My new fulltime job is to "sip, sip, sip". Staying hydrated is hard work.
    3) The sounds coming from my new stomach are not lady like.
    4) I am no longer a bashful burper.
    5) Daytime TV sucks.
    6) Not every belly twinge is a potential leak. I am a nurse, so I always look at the worst case health scenarios first. Hard habit to break.
    7) Isopure gags me, but is tolerable if made into SF Jello.
    8) Old Navy makes super comfy yoga pants, even if I never assume a "Lotus" pose.
    9) Clear liquid diets are doable for a few days. My favorite flavor is blue.
and last, but definitely not least, as a wise forum member once advised me:
    10) Never trust a shart!

So I guess the take-home lesson seems to be that there are as many opinions on this as there are surgeons, and as many different experiences with straws as there are sleevers who have tried them. Fair enough. I'll probably give them a shot, but I've never really cared one way or the other how I get fluids to me now, so if it ends up uncomfortable and I have to stop, it's no big loss.

No way I could have done that!!! I'm a 911 Dispatcher so mostly at a desk so I went back after 2 weeks. The first few days were long, I got tired easy. I wasn't worried about the stress of the job just getting up, ready & getting there! You have a long & busy job, I'd take as much time as you could. That's just me though! Good luck!

I got lucky and didn't get a catheter (I had my period and I guess my surgeon wasn't too concerned, I used the bathroom two hours after surgery), I didn't even know I had a UTI before the surgery. They totally surprised me when pre-op called saying so, I had no symptoms! But I'm feeling really good. I'm still sore, but the gas pains are mostly gone and those were the worst!

Yep, this exact thing happened to me when I had surgery for appendicitis. I haven't been sleeved yet.
When they took the catheter out, I got a UTI. It was horrible. The cipro will fix it. I don't think it'll affect your weight loss.

Sounds great!!! I'm 2 wks post op tomorrow & my recovery sounds just like yours. The being tired easy really bums me out! At my 1 week checkup the dr said of course that was normal & will subside. Today is my first day back at work & I'm feeling good so far. I'm down 19 lbs since surgery /lost 20 in pre-op diet too for a total of 39 so I'm pleased. Keep up the good work & congrats!

So I was sleeved on 9/16 and the surgery went smooth. I had minimal pain after and once the pain pump was removed I didn't use any other pain meds. I walked like fiend in the hospital and had some gas and shoulder pain on the second day. Once my drain was removed all shoulder pain immediately disappeared.
Upon coming home I had trouble finding a comfortable sleeping position but as my incision sights heal this is a non issue now. Physically I get tired quicker than before as I am still healing and I am adjusting to that, not being able to walk long distances with my dog sucks as does relying on the husband to do the laundry due to the 10lb weight restriction.
food, that is the strangest thing. Tracking my food in myfitnesspal is weird because my calories are so low. I am tolerating everything and have had no issues with nausea or Constipation. Actually I have had only very loose loose/watery stool. Oh and pain when I sneeze. I lost 11 pounds this week!!!!!!
