Please read pre op crisis
pacificpeach replied to Quenae757's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I mix my protien shakes with Almond Milk and ice in the blender. The shakes are creamier and taste better! -

pacificpeach replied to McButterpants's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I ditto the last 2 posts! I am also a patient of Dr. Umbach. Had my surgery 6.5 months ago. I thought he was a very skilled surgeon and would recommend him to others. And I have! -
New Quest Bar limited release tomorrow
pacificpeach replied to TapSnap's topic in Food and Nutrition
I absolutely love the Quest Cashew & Coconut!!!!!! -
I also had my surgery by Dr Umbach on March 8, 2013. I live overseas so I don't have any contact with the office except via email. I thought Dr Umbach was a great surgeon and I would recommend him to anyone. Actually, I have a few of my friends are having surgery with him soon.

Feel crummy in the AM
pacificpeach replied to artymama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 4 mos out and I still have a hard time in the morning. I have decided to stick with a protien shake for breakfast. It still takes about 45 minutes to drink it all down. -

I hate my pre op diet!
pacificpeach replied to softballmom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I was self pay also. I had a 2 week pre op diet of 2 shakes and 1 lean and green meal. My Dr. stressed that is was to shrink the liver. They actually lift the liver to reach the stomach. -

Question - Subsidized by insurance because of hernia repair
pacificpeach replied to Bredred's topic in Insurance & Financing
I have a friend who was also self pay. Her total charge was $10,500 for the WLS. They then filed her insurance for the hernia repair and I do believe the ins paid about $3500.00. So, when all said and done her out of pocket was only $7000.00. -

Stall 7 weeks out
pacificpeach replied to schavez2010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Make sure that you are drinking ALL of your fluids. I notice a big difference in my weight loss when I keep on track with fluids. I am also about 7 weeks out from surgery. -

March Sleevers - what does your diet consust of
pacificpeach replied to Jazzy1's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am 5 weeks out. I am still drinking a shake for breakfast because it is easier and I bring it to work. Otherwise I am eating pretty much what I want but only healthy stuff. I have had strawberries and did not have any problems with the seeds. I am limited to about 2-3 ounces at a time. In the beginning I really had to learn how to slow down and take small bites. I had a problem with taking that 1 bite too many, and then everything came right back up! Another great tool is the myfitnesspal.com to keep track of calories, protiens and carbs. I am limiting myself to 600 calories a day and I try to walk in the evenings for about 45 minutes. My Dr. did not have me on a pureed food stage. He just told me to chew everything really well. It does help to see what everyone else is doing.
