Actress Mo'nique loses 80 pounds through diet and exercise. She looks greats...but is seemingly critical of weight loss surgery. While I applaud her success...I wish she was more supportive for individual choices. After all, it's the final results that ultimately count. http://www.today.com/entertainment/monique-lost-80-pounds-after-tipping-300-1C9965346

mysleevemylife got a reaction from newat52 in ATTENTION ALL BOXERS...
So, one of my goals is to become a boxer. I'm currently reading up on it & slowly training myself. What I'd like is a great DVD or set of DVDs that will instruct me on how to box. Suggestions?? I know that I can hire someone to train me, but the guy I talked to wants about 300 per mo. Ummm....that's not in my budget right now. Any tips, advice, help would be greatly appreciated! I'm all ears guys & gals. :-) Thanks

mysleevemylife reacted to Karen H. in Finally on top~ and loving it!
I hope this is not too much info for this forum. I just want to proclaim that I have finally mastered being on top during sex, and now it is my favorite option. I love being able to see him close and of course, being in control of the pace. This is the one position that eluded and frustrated me back when there was a lot more of me to love. It was awkward and embarrassing and always ended up with lots of apologizing on my part.
This surgery has not only giving me a new lease on life, but it has opened doors to a sizzling sex life!

If you were curious about the 30 day shred, you can watch all of it on YouTube! So cool! Was thinking about purchasing it (again o.O) and decided to see if it was available for free and all three levels are!. I have YouTube through my Xbox so I can watch it on the tv. I have no intentions of doing 30 straight days, but ill definitely add this to my collection!!

It'll be different this time because you won't be able to eat the calories back and you will get results! What I am going to do differently is not give myself more than one day of rest a week. I don't want to lose motivation either and when something gets too easy or repetitive, I'll challenge myself and switch it up. Don't expect to fail. Failure isn't an option anymore!

Find new goals to work towards, like a specific race or challenge. A group of us are preparing for a 5K mud run (obstacle run) in October. When that is over, I will find my next goal/challenge - perhaps something completely different. It helps to have a goal and a focus to keep you motivated! Just be sure to find a new goal or focus as soon as you complete one.
When I was thin many years ago, I also got into triathloning because I got burned out on just running - the training and racing variety was good to help keep me motivated.
Finding a friend or a group to exercise with really helps to keep you accountable!
And if you can afford to, buy some new, super-cute workout clothes! Sometimes that helps to get me up and going.

When I had my surgery I THOUGHT I would keep it to myself........BUT afterwards... I thought If I could help anyone in my shoes I would be happy to.
Today almost 2 years later, I have had 2 people I work with come to me, and say,,,,,,,,,,, THANK YOU............ I have watched you.......... I went to your DR and am scheduled for the surgery...........it brought tears to my eyes.........I PROUDLY told them If I can help you please let me know, here is what to expect from the Dr's office, the NUT, the evaluation, they said I have watched you and you are amazing!!!!..............BEST compliment I could have had......... I am there to help ANYONE............and ALL........... if you do the same think how many people we can help! SHOUT it, that you had a life saving surgery!!!! I had a conversation with a man today, he said, you have lost a lot a weight since I seen you last, I said yes........ and we chatted about food,........ he said you look really good............I said thank you......and later in conversation I said...........I had weight loss surgery, he said SO WHAT......you DID It!!!!.......... you look wonderful.............we talked more Protein............ protein.........protein......... once again you look good, congrats.............now this was a 20 year old kid, telling me a 55+ women............ that I look good, and congrats!!!!! He made my day! So don't try to hide your surgery, unless for some reason you have to, you MAY help someone that you may not even know is watching you.................

I've had this addiction lately to these Hormel Rev wraps they sell near the Lunchables. They're like 3oz wraps, maybe 220-300 calories depending on what kind you get and high in Protein. They're a great lunch on the go!

CONGRATS!! Feels good, huh? My advice would be to prepare your mind like you're entering the ring for the fight of your life. Prepare to win. Plan your meals, Water, etc carefully/strategically. DO NOT let the scale control your mind. Look at it & rejoice if there is a loss, but if there is no loss or if there is a gain, be patient with your body. As long as you are doing everything within your power to make it happen, just sit back, relax, & let your body catch up. Also, be creative once you get off the restricted diet. People ask "Can I have this, that, etc", well, I, for example, took a small tortilla (low carb one) & made a pizza with it (only few pepperoni). You can enjoy flavor & texture, & be satisfied while losing weight. I could go on & on...hope this helps. God bless!

I also had surgery right before Christmas and was still on full liquids until the day after. I can understand it being hard during celebrations, but really try to focus on all the milestones that this next year will bring to you. When your next birthday rolls around you will physically be in a much different place. Head hunger and our emotional triggers are much harder to deal with than just the food. Can you have pudding? If it is a treat you want for your special day, make a little crustless chocolate cream pie. (non fat pudding and a little fat free cool whip) IT will get easier every day.
Good luck to you and Happy Birthday!!!
