I absolutley adore how this sight comes off as NON judgemental then people ask a question and you jump down their throats. I've seen it so many f***ing times it irritates me to a point of no return.
On topic... my surgery was 2/12 I smoked last week. I only needed on hit and I was good to go due to stomach and body asorbs differently now. My doctor said if it hurts DON'T do it. Its common sense really.
Don't judge people every one has their happy zone.. I mean remember what it was like when everyone on this sight medicated themselves with food....

I had a lot of supportive people, semi supportive people, and completely negative people.
Some said natural is the way to go, some said omg what if you die, and others said go for the gold.
Just try to understand everyones veiwpoint may not be your viewpoint unfourtently.

Wow, that's great! When I went for my first post-op at a week and a half, I had lost 5 lbs and thought that was great! I like your number better.

One word: sharts

The only ugly I have had so far (11 weeks out) is gurgling (from the stomach up - but not burps - just gurgles) after drinking. It is LOUD and uncontrollable and embarrassing in groups. Small price to pay for getting healthy.

That's where I am, too. I was so cautious for the first couple of weeks, just taking tiny sips. I accidentally took bigger swallows a few times and realized I could handle more without the pain now. As of yesterday, I've realized I can take about 3 normal sized drinks. If I do get a little too much, it does hurt for just a sec as it kind of squeezes by, but it's not horrible. This has made it so much easier to get all my fluids in. I'm very happy!

I make mine with Pork rinds for the crust. I know gross. But you dont even taste them. And if you use the hot and spicy pork rinds, it gives it a bit of a kick. Just google pork rind Pizza Crust for the recipe.

Yes!!!!!! I start tomorrow. Two weeks out ive only lost ten pounds =( but excited to start soft foods.

I'm 13 weeks out and just started having salad. Prior to surgery, I used to pile it with all my favorites, and I can't do that anymore. Now, I usually go for the turkey, boiled egg, cheese, and cottage cheese. I can only eat a small portion of it, and wind up feeling hungry 2 hours later! But I know what you mean about missing it.

I'm almost 9 months out and I can eat about a cup of salad at a time....just wait until you are 3 to 4 months out to try it...so you will be pretty much healed when you eat it...

There wasn't n e moshing. Lol. But I had a great time.

Can't wait to not panic when at a restaraunt they are about to seat us at a booth, and I'm wondering if I can fit!

Can't wait not having to think "Am I going to be able to fit on this ride" while standing in line to get on a rollercoaster. Torture...LOL

I was sleeved on 2/21, I have very minimal pain even to stop my pain killer. TODAY I STARTED MY PERIOD!!! I have very painful periods. At first i thought something was wrong with stomach and started to panic. Then i went to the bathroom and realized what was happening. Must be karma, who can have 80% of their stomach removed and not have pain??? Damn mother nature!!!!grrrr

I will be honest I was bad and attempted a sip of soda. I felt like I was gonna die... it hurt so bad and that feeling lasted about 10 minutes. I swore I would never drink another sip of soda again. I didn't believe my surgeon when he said that the carbonation bubbles would be painful and boy was I wrong. I'm glad that I had that experience though because it taught me a lot and I know that Water and crystal light and other low calorie drinks are so much better for me.
