  1. Hi Dan, I am just checking in to see how your revision went. I am 10 years out from my sleeve and getting a revision on 1/15/23. I am kind of sad about this as well since I really love my Sleeve. However, the severe GERD has prevented me from staying on track and I have had regain over the years. I am hoping the Bypass will not only get rid of the GERD, but also help me shed some of the regain. I wish you well!
  2. Oh this is music to my ears. I am having my revision to bypass done on 1/15. My sleeve recovery was as good as I could have imagined so I am hopefully the bypass will be as well.

    July sleevers please check in..

It is definitely harder as the years go by. I got to my goal of 135 and maintained between 132-137 for 2 years. In the last 6-8 months, I have gained to 150 and now bounce between 146-150. It is not easy at all to lose anymore and I agree with you, I do feel like I think about eating so much more. I guess it is going to come down to how bad I want to get back to 135. Back to basics sounds like my plan, too. Good luck!
  4. My surgery weight (after pre-op diet) was 248 and I am sure I gained weight from fluids while in the hospital. I did not weigh myself until 1 week out at my PCP follow-up visit and I was 240. I lost consistently for 10 months with really no stalls. I lost about 120 pounds total from day of surgery to reaching goal. If you stay on plan, you will lose.
  5. My doctor didn't give me a goal weight. She basically said that she would be happy if I got anywhere in the overweight BMI. I set my original goal at 150 and got as low as 135 which is a normal BMI for me. I am 5'5'' and started at 269. I am now three years post-op and have regained a little to 148ish. I am not as happy as I thought I'd be at this weight, but it is probably because I managed to get lower and maintain for about 2 years. I am working to get back to about 138-140. I think that is my sweet spot.

    Straw Poll

3+ years out and I drink with a straw all the time. No issues at all and I really believe it helps me get more water in throughout the day.

  9. 3 years out and I drink carbonated drinks a couple times a week. I will say that I didn't do this until I was about 2 years out and I was at my goal weight for over a year. Honestly, I do not notice a difference in my cravings when I drink them. I did regain but that was from allowing too many carbs back into my diet.

What Is Your Beverage of Choice?

I am 3 years out and typically don't have any problems getting in my fluids with plain Water. However, during my losing phase (and currently) I drank flavored water (Mio or store brands) and diet Snapple.
  11. No change for me this week. CW: 147 Thanks!
  12. My stats for this challenge: CW: 148.6 (NOT HAPPY; this is my highest weight since March 2014...BOOOO!!) GW: 140 (I want to get back down to 135 by the end of the year, but that seems impossible for this challenge) Thanks again for doing this, beyondgrief!!

    Twinkie Twit

I swear I am always surprised to hear/read/experience such nasty, mean people in the world. I really just don't get it...what does belittling someone do for them? Sadly, bullies will always exist. You do you and as hard as it is, don't let her control your emotions and feelings about yourself! 120lbs...WAY TO GO!!!
