You have to stay away from the snack for AT LEAST 4 days for it to get patterned into your brain. Try the most water you can drink instead of pretzles. Or, go to bed...
Good luck. And praying is good, trying is good. Doing is better.

Ok so dont panic you havent gained anything you know what you have to do. If you need carbs which all carbs are not bad for you eat them withen one hour after you work out. the rule is no workout that day no carbs get a good hard workout in you can have some arbs but you only have that hour window . Dont beat yourself up over this you can get back on track, good luck to you.

It's hard but I've decided not to buy them anymore....... Good job throwing out the spaghetti! Yayyyyyyyy!

Good post. My surgery was in January. So for the holidays i was in need of nice party clothes. The thought of giving the high priced fat stores one more penny was killing me. So - i went to a consignment shop. Shockingly - beautiful clothes for almost nothing. And i only wore what i bought once. Because a few weeks later- i was too small. yay

I have lost 94 pounds since my surgery on January 14th. I have not rewarded myself yet...but soon I expect to do something. I too have been excited about super sexy underwear.. I am a little bummed that my butt is sagging quite a bit and i think that is why i haven't spluged yet. I am exercising hard so hopefully I will be able to lift my booty. Reward yourself with clothes, or a new hair-do, a little vacation, a really good book, manicures/pedicures..............

I am so excited for you. I have gone through very similar life path as you. I had my surgery in January 2013 and have lost almost 90 pounds as of today. I WOULD DO THIS SURGERY AGAIN IN A HEART BEAT. I wish I would have done it 10 years ago. Tomorrow- I have a rollerskating birthday party for my son. And this momma is getting on the skates too. Last year -at 290 pounds- no way would I have tried it. I have become that healthy and happy woman, that mother and wife that my family deserves. And it is AWESOME. I don't know you- but I know how you are gonna feel 4 to 6 months from now- and I am excited for you. Keep us posted on your journey.

Carbs make you hungry. Lose the sugar. You shouldn't be having sugar anyway. I never feel hungry. Never have tummy rumblings. I did read before in a bariatric book that people should have a large glass of water when they feel hungry and they shouldn't be- cuz they had food not to long ago. Often it is your body's way of telling you that you need water and you need hydration. But many people think it means they need food. Try it. It amazes me how that works. Good luck. Proccessed food isn't a great choice- like braunschweiger. Just sayin. Good luck. And please- I am not preaching or judging - just having conversation.

Do protein shakes for about 10 days- I bet you get under 200 faster than u think. I had surgery 20 weeks ago. Started out at 264. Today I weigh 178. I really limit carbs and i work out everyday.
Keep us posted. You can do it.

What are the shakes you are drinking. I buy the bariatric fusion. Mint chocolate chip and chocolate mousse are my faves. I hated the shakes at first. But I decided I was gonna do this right - and I needed to grow-up and be mature about it. Now i actually enjoy the shakes. And the pre-op liquid diet is the hardest part in my opinion. But it is a great way to prepare you mentally to saying goodbye to the food for awhile. I did liquids for 2 weeks post-op too. Way easier. After surgery you are never hungry.

I had so many of your feelings and fears. Very similar. I felt like I wrote your blog. The first few weeks after surgery I was very careful to not direct my anger toward my family members. It wasn't my husband's or my children's fault/choice/or decision to have this surgery. YOU must be clear with your self that this surgery is only for you. Because if it is not- you will struggle more. Every time you get mad at your husband - the urge to eat will be strong. You have to do the surgery - only for you. Or it won't be as successful as it could be. You really can't let yourself "wonder" if this is going to work for you. You HAVE to make it work for you. The surgery is only a tool that will give you a small window of time to break your bad habits and start your new life with better behavior techniques. Good luck and counseling with the right behavior therapist will absolutely help with your addiction.
I enjoy sugarfree gum like there is no tomorrow. It really helps me with the head hunger and the mouth hunger. And it really helps with my addiction to food.

I plan on plastic surgery as well. Definatley breast augmentation and getting the loose skin taken off my abdomen. However, even with out surgery-- and even though I don't really want loose skin-- it to me will be better than having fat rolls to live with. I will be able to hide most of the skin issues with clothes. AS long as I am healthy--- I will be grateful. Loose skin will not prevent me from doing all the things that fat has all these years. I always have had muscular legs- thank goodness. Keep us posted.

wow!! Just want you to know that you really do not have to depend on anybody to take care of you post-op. I have 2 little boys and a husband and I still had to do everything that I usually do. And i kept it a secret from my children because I didn't want them to worry. I was concerned about how they would feel. How old are you??? Quit blaming your mother for postponing your plans. Get a grip. Do you live on your own? You will be able to walk. You will be able to take yourself to the bathroom. You will be able to dress your self. You will NOT need any meals prepped for you. What is it that you expect your mother to do when she "takes care of you"? Have a friend take you to the hospital and have a friend take you home. You will not need to be taken care of. And yes your post screams that you are very selfish. Perhaps you can learn now to consider that the world does not revolve around you and your surgery plans. You need to know that you can do this on your own, even when you are hurting. It is not that bad- and they will give you pain meds.

I didn't want anybody to know either. I had to tell a few because I would need their help with my little boys. But I don't plan on telling everybody about the surgery. The fact is-- you still have to do the work for this to succeed. You have to adhere to a strict dietary guideline and exercise. So to me- people don't need to know what tool we use to loose our weight.
We have to work just as hard as others- who do not have surgery. Don't worry about keeping it to your self - it really is your own business!!1

I have no regrets for keeping my surgery to myself. It truly is nobody's business. You still have to do serious hard work. There are people that have surgery and fail - regain all the weight they lost. They don't follow any diet plan. So just because a person has surgery does not mean they have done something wrong- it does not mean they should have something to hide. Your body is your business. Don't worry about co-workers. They won't be in your life forever. Right?
And you do look fabulous. ENJOY it.
