    Regrets!

NOT 1 regret here!!! You won't have any.

    SAD :(

It sounds like you might not be getting 60 to 75 ounces of water in per day. If you are slightly dehydrated you will have trouble with constipation. Keep sipping on water- ALL day long. The scale will start to move.

    Traveling for PS alone

How much do all the surgeries cost together? Just curious. Is it cheaper where you are going?

I am woman, hear me ROAR!

Good for you!!! You will find something very cute to wear that will be a size you are happy with. It was so exciting when I hit 199! I officially have lost 101 pounds in exactly 6 months. I feel like I have won the lotto of life!
  5. Good doctors prescribe medication - Actigall- to prevent problems with the gallbladder. No matter what way people lose weight- with surgery or without- the chances for gallstones is increased. I hope everybody is smart enough to do their own research and find a good doctor who will know how to help them.

    Help

Ok- that makes me feel better. For the first 6 months you may end up taking lots of medications. I also take Atigal which will help prevent gallstones. And Postassium and magnesium and Prilosec. Your nutritionist and doctor should go over all that stuff- and if they don't - to me that would be a red flag to go somewhere else. Usually a year after surgery when you can get more nutrients from food- you should be able to take a regular multivitamin. But you should look into ones now that are specific for weight loss surgery.
  8. You look FANTASTIC. Your arms look so buff! You have so inspired me to get my smaller ass to the gym---pronto! Good job.

    Help

My doctor spent an entire visit just on the vitamin/ supplement information. Have you had surgery yet? Blood work should be done routinely after surgery to better dictate what your body needs. It will show what your specific body is deficient in. I take Bariatric Fusion--- 2 tabs in the am and 2 in the pm. Plus I take calcium citrate supplement total of 1500mg per day.

    Bridesmaid dress question

In three months you could be a size 8 or 10. Wait until 2 weeks before the wedding and have it altered by a professional. Most of the bridal stores will insist you do it sooner. But find a privately owned business and make the appointment way ahead of time and explain that you are losing weight and want to wait to have it altered till just before you need to wear it.

    starting on my journey

Most insurance companies will go with your first recorded weight and not penalize you for weight you lose during the 6 months of supervised diets. You need to show that you are willing to follow a diet plan. And - losing weight is much better for you on the operation table.

    Pms

Call your doctor. Get a heating pad. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is one of the main ingredients in Lortabs. If the strong Lortabs don't help you - regular Tylenol will not help. You need to be taking your regular meds too-- nobody likes crushed pills. But not taking your medications is a terrible idea. You really should commit to doing everything your doctors ask you to do and take what you are supposed to.

    Not doing the liquid diet

I am so shocked at that. Did you lose a certain amount of weight in the past couple weeks. I can't get over how different doctors can be. Are you having surgery at a Bariatric Center of Excellence? I am very curious. I almost want to keep track of everybody's answers. You don't have to answer- but I am interested. Does your surgeon specialize in bariatrics or does he do many abd. surgeries?

    Consequences of no protein

Goldygirl---Many, many, many people lose their hair goldygirl.!!! Geez! And most good Docs will warn the patients of the potential of losing their hair.

More than a little hot right now

wow. Things like this do happen. But even if your surgery was in October-- it will be here before you know it. I had some hang ups too. Just remember how fast time goes. Keep yourself busy. Breathe. And relax.

    Not doing the liquid diet

If your liver isn't ready for this surgery - you may have serious problems. Please talk to you doctor and be honest. I hated the pre-op diet. I made a promise to myself--if I couldn't follow the diet exactly the way my surgeon asked me to- then I believed I was not mentally prepared for this life changing event. I did it-- it sucked. But I made it through the surgery with no problems and the following 3 to 4 weeks were not bad because I was mentally prepared. Please be honest with your doctor. YOu may need a little bit more time to mentally prepare- and there is nothing wrong with that.
  21. I don't believe I am lying about it. I have restricted my food intake and started moving. Does it matter what helped me do it? I could have taken a certain medication/supplement that helped me feel fuller, and I would have kept that to myself too. The only people that really understand ..are people that have over 100 pounds to lose. Average weight people in MOST work places are very judgemental. And although I am not ashamed of what I did...I don't feeling like being judged and scrutinized every day. Unfortunately, there is a stigma to having weight loss surgery. And if you are the type of person that really doesn't care what other people say-- then that is great. But it is almost impossible to truly not care what others think because that is the whole gist of being human. Humans are social - they want to be validated--and accepted. It is a fact. You can easily drop 50 to 80 pounds in 3 or 4 months on the ATkins diet-- I did in the past. And that is what most of my co-workers think I am doing again. Which is fine with me.

    Consequences of no protein

I use Bariatric Fusion! I swear these shakes are magic. If I don't use them for a week or so the scale doesn't move. So I start drinking them again--and the scale shows loss. I have used other shakes but do not get the same results or the same protein in.
