firelle got a reaction from tamarada in Horror Story
I'm sorry to hear about your sister. I can't imagine how difficult and scary it's been for her and your whole family. Thanks for sharing her story, and I'm glad you did. I know surgery has its risks, but it's easy to look at a piece of paper that lists the risks, and not really think about it too deeply. It's easy for me to just think about the end result of being thin and healthy, and never give a second thought to any complications that might happen. Your sister's story definitely forced me to get my head out of the clouds. While I am still going the route of surgery, I appreciate you making a serious complication very real for me, and wish your sister and family the best.
You certainly don't sound like an idiot or "mentally challenged" to me, you sound like someone who loves her sister very much and has endured a lot of pain and scares, and wants other people to know her story. I'm sorry the other poster didn't see things that way and had to resort to name calling.

Ok! Maybe that was just some generic weight loss surgery info, and more geared toward bypass patients!

I was also sleeved on 2/4 and went from 258 to 206. I've been on so many stalls but I'm sure my occasional cocktail isn't helping. I need to exercise more too but I am using excuses not to. I'm in the sandwich generation with elderly mom and kids still at home plus a full time job and my husband just had two hip replacements in the last two months so I can honestly say that the lack of exercise isn't really my fault. I'm running like crazy from 7 am to midnight everyday. I wish I could take control of "me" again! I need to get back on track. I sure look and feel a lot better though! ????

You can TOTALLY tell! Your face and neck look noticeably thinner, and so does your tummy! Your graduation picture looks amazing - I love your hair
Congratulations on your Masters!!!

Oh, and I will be thrilled when I'm reviewed fairly at work! It's like fat people are just automatically assumed to be lazy slackers. I consistently do more work, and better quality work, than some of my thin and younger coworkers. Yet they always get better performance reviews, and I'm always told to take more initiative to do more things in the lab. Even when I test this and do EXACTLY the amount of work another analyst does, and take the exact same amount of down time, the boss always comes out and tells me to go do stuff. I'm so sick of trying so much harder than everyone else just to be thought of as barely as good as anyone else.

I can't wait to NOT have to ask for a table instead of a booth, and not have to feel like I'm dying just to put on socks and lace my shoes, and not worry incessantly about going to someplace where I will have to walk a lot.

I can still see mine a little too (from around the drain hole). I also changed mine 1 to 2x/day. I think I was allergic to the adhesive on the bandage. it is fading a bit after 14 weeks....

Sleeved 2/26 and doing great. But you can STILL see the light red square mark where the tape was that kept my post-incision dressing on (over the drain tube hole). I changed the dressing and tape a couple times daily, and only had it on for about 5 days total right after surgery. The tape itched like a mofo.

firelle got a reaction from Fiddleman in best green superfood powder?
Thanks! I'll keep looking, or try the Amazing Grass or Garden of Life. I ordered a really nice Ninja blender from Amazon, as my old smoothie maker has bit the dust from too many green smoothies and frozen bananas. Once it comes, I want to try smoothies with chia seeds and this superfood green powder.< /p>

I already feel like a whole new person! My confidence is much much higher. I've cut my hair short after having super long hair for years and "hiding" behind it. I bought crazy bright neon Skechers sneakers, when I'm used to wearing mostly black so I don't stand out. Have gotten a ton of compliments on both the hair and shoes (even the big burly mechanic, when I got my oil changed, said "I just have to tell you, I really love your shoes." lol). My car is an ancient tan tiny 2 door Cavalier, and I'm test driving a big bright light blue used Ford Edge SUV. I just feel great. People are noticing my weight loss. I've put the fat jeans away. Should give them away or toss them. Most of the jeans in my dresser are now too big!
