  1. I have had flavored vodka and a small amount of diet soda, I find the soda becomes flat once you add ice. I usually can have a couple and it takes me awhile to finish a cocktail which is good because the alcohol does affect me quicker. Its in a social setting anyway, not like I'm doing shots!!! I like vanilla vodka and diet a&w root beer. I find I can no longer stomach beer, the bubbles make my tummy feel weird and I used to love specialty beer. Oh well, I am going to a winery this weekend for a girls getaway and plan on tasting some wines.

    August sleevers progress

Today marks week 9 for me, I was 265 sleeve day and today I am at 235.6. So 30 total. Not the amazing loss some see but I am happy with it. I am going today after work to the gym to start weights, I have only been doing cardio and feel like I need to ramp it up a bit. My eating has been good. and fluids too, I did too many carbs this weekend and feel it but still not even a quarter of how I used to. I really don't ever get hunger which thrills me. I do still deal with head hunger at night.
  8. aug 5 here, down 30 so I can relate. I work in a cardiology office and the medical scale is right at the opening to my office so there is no way I can stop myself from weighing everyday. I am trying not to focus on the "what I haven't lost" and focus on the amount gone. I have only stalled once at the 3 week mark for 10 days. But the weight is very slow to come off. I don't wake up and have 5 gone ever! I jump at every .2 I see. And then grumble on the days I see a pound increase. I know for me that if I ramped up the exercise it would help, right now I am only walking. But walking waay more than I used to and farther. So its prob time to start on weights. I HATE exercise but I know what I have to do .
  9. I too have a difficult time with this, I find that if I leave my cup (because I always have one now) in another room, I don't see it and then its kind of out of sight out of mind. That is the only way I have been able to so far. I also find that drinking with eating protein(meat) is uncomfortable almost creates a bubble effect for me. Now I do not watch the clock and prob don't wait a full 30 or sometimes more. But I stay on a 2-3 hr schedule and no snacks in between. shake/snack/meal/snack/meal/snack that's my daily routine so if I do drink a little early I have to discipline myself from eating sooner. Its just hard when you push all day to get that liquid to stop yourself for that length is tough.
  10. Sounds very normal to me, I was incredibly sore when I went to sit up or stand but once there its was tolerable. Walking was easy, and no real "pain" per se but felt like I had done 1000 crunches. My surgeon explained how they remove the stomach, they make an incision in the skin, your ab muscles are like vertical fibers all bound together he just basically works the fibers apart to get to the stomach so they do not cut the muscle. But that's why that one incision is more painful. Hope this helps. Make sure you keep up with your pain pills don't wait till they wear off because they take about 30 min to kick back in. The first 3 days were the worst for me after that I stopped taking the meds

    pizza 3 months out

I recently grilled a bobli wheat crust with pesto feta and grilled chicken(mozz too) thru some pine nuts and basil on, one thin piece was my limit but it was soo good, and I was actually excited at the thought of WOW I'm totally not going to hog out on this.

    Waiting is the hardest part....

I remember feeling the exact same way as you. Not knowing if I would be approved because my bmi was so close to the cutoff and having to go 6 months teetering at that same weight but not gain. When the time actually came it was like a whirlwind, my approval came through I have an apt then a week later my surg. I look back now and it still seems like it was a dream. Hang in there
  14. Haven't posted in a while mostly because well nothing too exciting happening. Staying the course with my diet. I am still doing a morning shake everyday. I use a scoop of unflavored unjury, skim milk and ice and a couple packets of truvia then add coffee, its been something I actually look forward to. I still have yet to find any food that does not agree with me. (not always a good thing) I find that bread and potatoes fill me up to the point of being uncomfortable so I just stay away, but things like chips and crackers do go down easy so I am not letting those come into the house. I am having fun with cooking, using the recipes I find on theworldaccordingtoeggface blog. I made some lettuce wraps that turned out great the other day. My husband even liked them. We grilled steak this weekend and it was amazing! I only have to buy one steak now and we split it. My exercise is still low key, I walk 3-5 times a week with a coworker, I need to turn it up a bit and get weights in but the weather has been so nice I want to enjoy it to the bitter end! I have all winter to be inside in the gym. As of today I am down 30 pounds and I am 8 weeks out. My closet is starting to not yield much to wear. I have this gap of clothing the "too big" stuff is being thrown into a pile for friends and goodwill, and the "I will get there" clothes are still out of reach and there's not much in-between. I am down to one or 2 pairs of jeans that I can fit. I never realized how long I went wearing clothes that were too tight simply because I couldn't wrap my head around buying the next size up! I may do a big overhaul on the closet this weekend. in 2 weeks I go on a girls trip and we will be hitting some outlet malls, I won't go crazy buying stuff but need to get a few things., I like how shirts are fitting me now. I am top heavy and have lost almost 2 cup sizes, the girls are a bit lower but still look nice in a bra! LOL, I managed to find 2 old bras that I had stashed because they were too small so that has saved the pocket book. My progress remains at 1-2 pounds a week. Sometimes with an extra bonus pound in there somewhere. So I am not the fast loser I hoped I was going to be but this is the fastest I have ever lost weight in my life and kept it off! And for once there's no end in sight, no rebound with binges because I can't handle being no carb or so super food restrictive that I just crash into a bag of McDonalds like a raving lunatic! I look at food for nutrition but I also allow for what I am craving. Partly because its such a small amount. I can usually curb a craving with a sugarfree popsicle, or a couple crackers with peanut butter. I have stayed away from all the cider doughnuts that keep making their way into my office. I did have a minisnickers but kept it to just that one! Which was a feat in itself. I am keeping with the mantra of protein first, and have not had a problem sticking to it. It doesn't really require much thought anymore. I know I am still in the "honeymoon" phase, I have no real hunger just a weird feeling when I go too long between meals. I love the little blue diamond 100 calorie almond packets. I usually have one between my morning shake and lunch, I also have been making mini rollups for a quick protein snack. I take a mini dill pickle, half of a slice of deli ham and a teaspoon of low fat cream cheese, roll it up and its a perfect quick grab snack. This is becoming quite long winded(and I can't separate paragraphs for some reason) I feel good about my future feeling optimistic. So on that note I will end this
  15. I had the 3 week stall that most everyone experiences it lasted for 10 long days then I dropped a couple pounds. Other than that no other stalls. I seems to hold the same for 3-4-5 days then drop a pound and then next day half a pound then same for a week. I know if I did more exercise I would see more but having a hard time in the motivation department with life so busy, I am getting a good 2/3 mile walk a day. I think my expectations were high too seeing people reach goal at 6 months and all. I will have them check my lean mass when I go in nextime. I am still excited that I have had this done and will continue to work at it.
  16. So glad to hear that you and I are losing the same rate!! Good luck to you too! We will get there

    The Real Deal

I woke up(when I actually remember it) feeling groggy and sore but nothing I couldn't handle. I did get nauseous but the nurses were great about giving me meds for that and it went away instantly. I was lucky and had no complications. I was up and moving right away. The anesthesia stays in your system for a bit after surg. For me it was a mind set, I chose this, I needed to cope with it and not be a baby. And I was going to follow everything to a tee
