LOL! I can't blame you one bit... Congrats to you though on being sleeved. And I wish you the best in your new beginning :-)

Wow! Yeah I didn't go through that... and actually glad. I can't imagine giving myself a shot every day for 20 days. Every doctor is definitely different

I never had shots... while in the hospital they gave me blood thinners. But even those were just shots in the arm. Maybe it depends on your blood work when you leave or how much you're moving around... personally I walked a lot after surgery. I'm talking mere hrs after surgery I wanted to get up and walk (it helped with the gas pain). But every doctor and what they prescribe is different.

    Dizziness

I never thought about low blood pressure... hmmm. My blood pressure was always good even as a bigger girl, so I didn't think about it being low. Thanks for the heads up!

    Dizziness

A few ladies on here told me I could be dehydrated, so I'm making a conscious effort to drink more water. Also another poster mentioned medication which got me thinking about my slacking off in taking my iron pills. So I'm trying both things for the next week and if it doesn't begin to get better I'm going to see my Dr.

Thanks Ebonisekim. I asked this same question on another page and realized I haven't been taking my Iron and that could be the cause. I was never good about taking it pre-op, but since the surgery limits what/how much I eat, my body could really be low on iron now.
  7. Has anyone else experienced dizziness after their surgery? I had surgery in January of this year and for about the past week and half I've been experiencing dizzy spells. They happen daily sometimes multiple times a day. Anyone else have this problem? If so was there something wrong?

To anyone who's post op at least 5 or more months... Did you experience dizzy spells? For about the past week and a half I've been having dizzy spells daily, a few times a day some days. Did anyone else experience this?

I can concur with Miistamunk. It is a great decision and though you ladies may fear hair loss it's a tiny price to pay for a healthier body and more confidence. I am losing some hair, and I'm natural. It did freak me out a bit to see my hair shed like it was but its starting to stop and luckily I had a nice full hair to begin with. So though it's a little thinner it's still a nice length and I'm grateful it started easing up before I really started to panic, lol. I was sleeved 1/8/13 @ 335 lbs. Today I'm 270 so that's 65 lbs in 5 months. It could've been more but I let my relocation mess up my exercise and eating habits. Going all day not eating (easy to do post sleeve), not leaving time to exercise. But do it! Don't delay the best decision of your lives. It's completely worth it. Good luck to you all and God bless!
  10. So I'm a little down today. And trying really hard not to get depressed. I had my surgery 4 months ago, January 8th to be specific. And for the past month my hair has been consistently falling out. I've always had a head full of hair, thick, curly nice length hair! As I washed and blow dried my hair my edges have completely thinned, my hair is not as thick and I'm seeing bald areas in spaces. I'm really regretting my surgery at this point. I wanted to lose weight and I'm noticing great results. But I don't want to see those results at the expense of my hair... I've never been a weave/wig girl, unless it was braided. I'm just fearful that I'm gonna be bald by the time this whole ordeal is over. Some one please speak some hope and positivity over me...

Hey wannabehealthy2, I was sleeved on 1/8/13 and have PCOS. I do believe I'm losing a little slower than others. Since my surgery I've lost about 45-50 lbs but my inches are more. My clothes are falling of faster than the scale moves. So I'm grateful still. The symptoms of PCOS are becoming less and less. My cycles are getting more regular, hair in areas it shouldn't be on a woman is getting less and less, my skin is clearing up. So all around an awesome experience. I try not to measure my success against others for two reasons. 1) They're not me and everyone's different and 2) my weight is dropping more consistently than ever before. Plus I'm hoping with my weight dropping a little slower I won't have as many issues with my skin . Hoping at least! But good luck lady and hopefully all goes well for you.
  12. This is completely off topic but I am relocating to Durham, NC in about 1 month and wanted to try to connect with some locals there, just to learn a bit and bounce questions off of. So if you're in the Durham, Raleigh area please respond here or msg me personally. Thanks!!!
