Look up emilybites.com and go to her cupcake/muffin area and most everything is used with wonton wrappers. I love using them!

I'm a stay at home mom of 3 kids. My 7 yo will be starting 2nd grade, my 5 yo will be starting Kindergarten (half days though) and I have a soon to be 3 yo. My weight gain really increased after having babies but it went really bad being at home all the time. My second baby was very difficult and that's when I started going nowhere and just staying at home eating my way through her colic and acid reflux. Apparently some habits are hard to break
Anyways, I was sleeved in April. I thought it would be harder than what it is being at home but I don't find it too terribly bad. The only times I really seem to struggle is around PMS days when sugar suddenly looks good. I'm always trying to come up with creative ways to cook food that we can all eat. The kids are really enjoying some of the meals off emilybites.com and our new meat in the house, turkey, seems to be an even bigger hit... who knew?! The husband is actually the super picky one. He ended up loving the lasagna bites and the ricotta bake.
The house is staying cleaner, laundry getting done more frequently, playing more outside and getting out more. This has been quite a positive change so far!
How's everyone else handling the staying at home with the kiddos?

Ignore them. Think of them as a bunch of immature students. People this is a forum it's not about bullying. Wow big deal she wrote a title you did not like. I actually think the title stood out so got responses. Most title are like "what to eat" or "any new gastric sleevers". Truth is who gives a ****. Seriously these people don't matter. All that matters is you lose the weight the best way you can and let these fools carry on being hypersensitive. My god call me any name in the world. I really couldn't give a crap. These responses are just shameful. Everyone has opinions which I respect but I don't respect bullies!!!!!'

ChristineR got a reaction from Ginger6367 in How Many Calories Are You Eating?
I don't know my calories in the liquid phase but in the soft food/mushy phase I averaged 600-900 calories a day. I'm on all solids now (almost 6 months out) and it's become easy to eat too many calories if it's not the right food. I try to stay in the 1000-1200 range, 70-90 g of carbs a day although I could bump it to 120, and 80-100 g of Protein.
I lost weight faster with more calorie intake. The low carb isn't hard for me because I don't feel good with bread, etc. I stalled once for 2 weeks when I started heavy exercise. When I went back down to moderate exercise the weight came off again. I figure it was a calorie deficit and I couldn't keep up at the time.
The weight will come off, it has to. Your body has to recalculate and figure out what is going on. Hang in there!

I guess I was one of the lions. I am so passionate about this surgery it is unbelievable..I have had to struggle for success every inch of the journey...
I did misunderstand what you wrote and apologize for my quick and tactless reply...Every Doctor is different and even mine has said things that I have never read on this forum...
It brings tears to my eyes as I listen to all the progress folks are making on here and the pain disappearing from their souls and I try very hard not to jump the gun and say the first thing that pops in my mind...This time that did not happen and I am sorry..
don't give up on posting, this is a marvelous tool that you can learn from and laugh with those who are experiencing funny things or cry with those who are who are struggling...that is the most important reason why this forum is here...
It is here to benefit me and you and anyone else who has an opinion or a story to tell.....That all said...It is not like me to be a lion...i am not happy with my reply and so sorry that if it is me that stops you from being here then that would be just awful...As my opinion is just that an opinion....

Someone once told me...."only take advice from someone who is where you want to be." So what cowgirljane said is true....I see so many newly sleeved and even presleeved people here telling folks how to do things...and how it's going to go for them forever. Really? How do they know?
The surgeons all have many different opinions on what works and what doesn't work. The truth is, there is more than one way to skin a cat. The best way is the way that works....and that you can stick with forever.
And btw....it's not the Protein bars and shakes that bind you up...it's the lack of Fiber. When you're newly sleeved it's very difficult to get in enough Fiber. Most don't because they're too busy getting in their Protein and simply don't have the room for much else.

I can understand the frustration from having a different plan than others. But my frustration is with people in real life, not on this board. I have a very different pre and post op diet than most. I am having my surgery done at a Center of Excellence, and so I will follow what they tell me to do. I have friends in real life who have begged me to find a new NUT because "you have a really bad Nut". That offended me. I'm a relatively smart individual and have gone with the most experienced team I could find for this surgery. Just because a plan is different than your own, does not mean you have a "bad" team, or Nut, or surgeon,

I did not go through that but if I did I would have the same complaints. Please keep hydrated as best you can. Make them check your dehydration if you need to. You may need an IV to pull out of it. Did they give you anti nausea meds?

Haha! My new obsession is taking pics of myself. I don't annoy others with my photos, they are for my own enjoyment. I was just thinking this morning about how I've spent my entire life hating how I look and all of a sudden, I finally see myself as beautiful. All these changes are blessings. Congratulations!

Are you keeping a food log to see if there is something that could be setting it off? Your habits may be the same but it doesn't mean that your new tummy is very accepting of certain things anymore. Also, lactose intolerance is uncovered a good bit after surgery. (Just throwing out ideas)

I would say it's one or the other. It gets expensive to buy all those bars/drinks for the whole family with all the junk food on top of it. My husband doesn't touch my Protein bars/drinks except for my greek yogurts so I get some for him and some for me.

Bypass makes me nervous with the reconstruction and the massive absorption issues. I've lost 80 pounds in 5.5 months and I'm feeling great. I have no regrets. Some people lose quickly and some don't. Took me a long time to gain the weight so having any loss is making me happy!

ChristineR got a reaction from c0nnie53 in Hunger pangs? Really?
It sounds like something else might be going on. The acid is always mentioned because it mimics hunger pangs. You might need a different med for it. Does your stomach feel the same with everything you consume right now? I can't speak for everyone but I didn't have any physical discomfort trying to sip on a few things. You won't get many calories in at this stage but you need something to heal faster. How are Protein Drinks going?
