  1. You might try upping the protein some and see if that gets the scale moving. This usually works for me.
  2. Prilosec or the generic version over the counter in a pill form. I did not have any issues with heart burn though, I only had issues with the gas.

    Full?

It took me a while to realize that I did not have to fill stuffed to be full.I am three months out and now my stomach tells me before I am stuffed, it gives a big noise when it is satisfied and when I am super stuffed, I hiccup three times and my nose will start to run just a little. You have to learn to listen to your body and it will just take time.
  5. My approval took about a month, I have Aetna.

    Protein shakes

I would wait until after your surgery to buy large quantities of protein. After my surgery, the protein that I bought before my surgery I could not stomach so be careful what you buy, because your tastes may change. I could not stand anything orange flavored, especially the orange flavored calcium citrate.Disgusting.
  7. I am down 38 pounds since 2/19/13

  11. What is your best non-scale victory post surgery? I went to Marshall's today and bought Xl shirts off the rack and I did not have to shop in the big and tall section of the store. Woo hoo!!! I can now find shirts that look good and are not a after thought on what material should I use to cover this big boy up with. I think someone shout create a clothing line that looks good for people of size.

    Weight loss stall

Yes. I did for a month.I changed my routine and foods up a bit.I also upped my protein intake to about 90 grams a day and the weight started to come off again. I am three months out and I have had a few stalls along the way. Check your sodium and water intake these can male a huge difference in your weight loss success.
  13. How much weight have you lost since your surgery? I am down 36 pounds since February 19.
  14. I had a similar reaction to ranch, but I discovered that I now am lactose intolerant to full fat milk and creams. I tried a small milk shake from McDonald's and by the time I got home as soon as I got in the bathroom, it came back up. You may have developed the same issue.
  15. Try putting some crystal light in you water, this helped me some, water was very heavy to me. You might try skim milk, that worked for me as well. My doctor said not to worry about the protein in the beginning that would come in time. I started getting all of my liquids in at about a month out. Good luck.
  16. I like strawberry protein powders from gnc.
  17. I use skim milk first then protein powder then fruit, I then use a hand blender and that works well for me.

    I hate protein shakes!

I hated them as well, the thought of a protein drink made want to throw up. I asked my doctor about this and he said not to worry about it in the beginning we would get the protein in some other way. I think it has to do with the medicine they use to put you to sleep with. I could tolerate protein drinks again at about a month out. Then the weight began to fall off.I would be cautious about buying these in bulk until you try some that you think you may be able to tolerate. I have found that for myself I like the fruity flavors better. I also like vanilla and strawberry from GNC. I do not like chocolate protein drinks at all. Our tastes change a bit after surgery. I also like some of the protein bars, but that will come later.

    Post op clear liquids!

The first two to three weeks are really hard. You may be coming off caffeine or just adjusting to how little food you are taking in.I had a few headaches in the beginning. I do not think the classes and doctors really prepare you for what you are in for mentally, especially when you get to the puree stage and how much your tastes will change after surgery it was very hard for me to figure out what I can eat. For the first week or two I actually removed myself from the table and that helped. I am not judging, but it sounds like your husband needs to step up and cook his own dinner. I just recently went back to cooking for the family and is a change. You will have to go with your family at some point and watch them eat while you are drinking liquids. I know it is hard, but you can do it. In the second week I thought to myself what have I done, when I got to the mushie stage I felt like I could eat somewhat normal again. It takes time and it is a process that we all must walk through. In the solid food stage you will eat two or three bites and you will be full. One good thing is that you will save a lot of money on food. Hang in there and know that you can do this. It is not an easy process, but it will be worth it in the end.
  20. You should try to find what you can tolerate. I would not buy them in bulk until you try them and see if you can stomach them. I bought a few kinds before surgery, but I was not able to tolerate any of them until this past week. I am almost five weeks out.
  21. How long did it take for everyone to come off of their medicine completely after being sleeved?
