    Essure...does anyone have it?

Can you get an ablation (spelling?) - my co-worker had one and she loves not having a period.
  4. Also, I am really sorry you're having this problem. It sounds like a total nightmare! Please let us know what you find out.
  5. Are you totally sure you had vertical sleeve surgery? I mean, I'm reading what you're saying and I'm thinking maybe they put you under and didn't do anything?
  6. I'm so excited for you! I wish I could go sooner.
  7. It's funny, because my mom had a similar reaction to my wedding announcement or my religious conversion. I don't think she understands me or my decisions usually - but in time she accepts them and learns to love me as an individual.
  8. She is your mother, but as I've learned with my mom, she has her own life to worry over now You are the captain of your ship. I think you've made an amazing decision that will help you have a healthier life for your future.

    Time off from work

I am having my surgery on a Monday and I am returning to work the following Monday. Thankfully, I have a job where I can choose my activity level and I have a helper if I need to take a break.
  10. Thank you so much for all the information! I am getting really excited to go
  11. April 1st with Dr. Ariel Ortiz in TJ

    Dr. Ortiz Jan. 15th!

Thank you, this is great advice. I was starting to think last night about how to get protein on the plane. At four days post op, do you need clear protein?

    Why am i craving sex

Yes, my husband is definitely excited about this part of the surgery. You know, I have found even when we're not that "active" my body has found a way to take care of things in my dreams, know what I mean? Catch an Alexander Skarsgard dream and all problems alleviated!

    Dr. Ortiz Jan. 15th!

Awesome, ATX! It sounds fabulous. I hope I can lay out in the Mexican sun a bit while I'm there...is the pool area nice at the Marriott?
  16. Woohoo! The next appointment I could get at the passport office was February 1st. Sheesh!

    Panicking...

I just had a colonoscopy last week and I was scared of the anesthesia, too. Talking to the anesthesiologist and asking the questions I was really afraid to ask helped tremendously. I'm scared of the same things you are, but I have always found the best way to deal with fear is knowledge and information. Also, go to http://www.reddit.com/r/progresspics/ and look at all these people who have lost major amounts of weight and how awesome they look. I don't know how many of them are WLSers, but it helps to remind me why I am taking the chance to go to a foreign country and have this surgery.

    I am not waiting

My insurance doesn't cover any bariatric services. Even if they did, my deductible is so high and the co-pay is too, that it is worth it to go to MX. It's a great deal and I get to be in the care of one of the best surgeons in the country.
  20. Sorry to hear you had such trouble with it. I had emergency gall bladder surgery and I wouldn't wish that kind of pain on anyone. Constant vomiting, mind bending waves of pain, inability to walk or think straight - I should have called an ambulance but I asked my friend to drive me to the hospital instead, I almost didn't make it inside. I'm not sleeved yet, but I'm glad to know it won't hurt as much as that! All I know is that the more I walked and farted, the better I felt. I was pretty sore for a while. Hang in there
