Welcome to the best years of your life! I will be 48 in January and I have been sleeved for 2 years now. It's been the best decision I ever made. I wouldn't change a thing. There's been challenges along the way and still more to come but I'd do it again in a heart beat!

Had surgery 9/15/14. I'll be 45 on 11/11. I just want to be healthy! I'm down 22 pounds in 6 weeks. Slow and steady wins the race! ????

I used to get a bit down when my losses were not as rapid as I would have liked - I still can as I have not yet reached my goal weight.
The truth is that this will never end - and we will get there eventually if we keep at it - and that is okay I am light years beyond where I was at the start of this journey, and that is pretty amazing.

Well it is now getting close to my big day. I will be 43 in 25 days and I am 10 pounds from onederland. That would be the best birthday gift ever!!! Even if I don't make it the best part is I have not been this weight and size since I was in my early 20's. I have had people look at my pics and say I look young now.

So this is going to be a great birthday

For my 45th birthday I am getting sleeved!!! I think it's going to be the best gift I've received in my entire life. My surgery is 7 days after my wedding anniversary and 3 days before my birthday!

On top of doing your C25K routine, you walked 4 more miles? That's super impressive!! Like, seriously. Especially in the morning. I find that I have a real energy problem in the morning, if I try working out. I guess because I haven't yet gotten the calories in. I finished Day 3 of Week 2 this morning, and during the last jog of it, I found it hard to even keep lifting my legs. I had to lay down for a bit when I got home. I definitely should have had my morning shake before. I feel much better now.
I'm glad your doc and the nurse are giving you such positive feedback and a straight forward plan! It's nice to hear the experts affirm that that's a clear losing rate difference between 600 and 800 cals, and I feel better about what I'm doing. The dietitian at my clinic actually had the sleeve done in mid-November, and that's so helpful. She hosted our support group meeting on Wednesday, and I learned that I've actually lost more than her. So that makes me feel pretty freaking successful. Lol!
You may have said before, but which pedometer do you use? I'm thinking of getting the FitBit Zip. Other than the time I set aside for exercise, I'm still very sedentary. I could use another layer of motivation and a daily activity goal.
Also, I signed up for my first Run. July 26th, and I think I'll be in Week 5 then. I'll try to jog for as much as I can.

Last week I went for a 6 mile brisk walk with a friend, could've gone on forever and was totally inspired. I work out 5 times a week, including with a personal trainer, and thought I'd be pretty fit for a jog. I tried for the first time Saturday (hadn't jogged in a decade), and I have to confess I was so surprised. I kept thinking, "How on earth can people do this?!!" More specifically, how can you breath?? I literally could not breath. After very short distances, I'd have to go back to walking, and I was breathing so hard my throat made awful noises. I can still be proud of my 3 mile walk with random bursts of jogging, but g'aw dayum, I can't believe how hard it was. I live right on the Mississippi River, and all the other levee joggers made it look so easy. I'm downloading two C25K apps now, and I'll see which one I like better. Hopefully it's just a matter of getting used to it and the app will be a huge help.

Well I went ahead and did a morning walk with jogging intervals, and it went well. Then two sessions with a personal trainer left me (and my thighs) in great pain - so taking a day to recover (ouch!). I did download the C25K you all mentioned, and am starting it tomorrow. Yay!

I finished C25K last week and then on Saturday I ran 5K around my house first time in 37 minutes. Was very proud and then yesterday I ran another 5K around my town in 36:47 so improved a little. I will do a 5K tomorrow also but I am very proud of my time at this point. I was hoping for 45 minutes when I first started running so this is huge for me.

LisaT678 got a reaction from tmcbride in 3 wks post op...stall
I'm almost 4 mos post op and it's true, just keep doing what your doing and it will start dropping off again in a week or two. I thought I was doing something wrong and had wasted our money and time when I had my first stall. I finally told the little "devil" sitting on my shoulder to get lost! No one invited self pity party to this engagement and this was MY Weight Loss Journey! It took about two weeks but I started losing again and the first week I lost almost 4 lbs which more than made up for the two week stall I encountered.
Keep the faith and stay the path!!!

If you go back on the treadmill as the summer heats up, adding an incline better simulates outdoor running.
