    Plastic Surgery-specifically BOOBS!

I had a lift with a lollipop incision and small implants (240cc). I was a 38D before and now am a 36DD. Depending on the method used for the lift, the scar can be pretty minimal. Here's a really good video: I'm almost four months out and my scars are fading nicely.

    Aspirational shopping

A bikini! Not too bad for 49 yrs old!
  3. Dr. Sauceda did my neck lift and I'm happy with it. There are some pics on the Dr. S Obesity Help forum group of others that have had neck and face lifts. There've been several that have had face and eye lifts recently on the Facebook group and they look amazing. My results are very natural looking. I'll post pics when I get my phone charged.
  4. It's not the same Dr. Sauceda. That one is in Texas, not Monterrey MX.

    Dr. Salk Monterrey Mexico Gosculptura

I looked at the prices on his website and they are almost the same as Dr. Sauceda's and some are higher. Not sure about multiple operations though as Dr. S discounts and pays up to $600 of your airline ticket if your operations are over a certain amount.

    Stitches......

External stitches are usually not dissolvable. Are your internal stitches coming out (aka "spitting")? If so, you can use scissors to trim those stitches that are poking out. If they're external, non-dissolvable stitches, they usually get taken out between 10-20 days. The doc should have setup an apt to do that.
  7. I worked on my computer the day after I had surgery. There was a project that didn't get finished before I left and it had to be done. I never had a problem with it.

    What's Your Favorite Store Now?

I like NY&Co too! They carry talls! Just bought my first size 10 pants and I had bought a large top, but had to exchange it for a medium.
  9. I had my arm lift done in July. It was the one thing I cried about afterward, but the tears were all happy tears. I was overwhelmed with happiness when I saw how small they were. I have had large arms forever. I usually had to buy shirts in a size larger to fit my arms and I never wore sleeveless. I told very few people about my plastics. I am a little bit disappointed in the scarring because I can tell the front of my LBL is going to fade to almost nothing, the breast lift scar is almost invisible already, but my arm scars are still red. Unless I lift my arms up or swing them dramatically you really can't see them from the front or the back. I'm still wearing sleeves around people that don't know about my plastics, but don't feel very self conscious in a bathing suit.
  10. I love the one that I have: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007J9GUVI/ref=pe_385040_30332190_TE_M3T1_ST1_dp_1# I used the Higdon plan for the half as well. Started Couch to 5K last week and hoping to go through it a little bit faster. Here's mine (flower for Maui half, charm for OKC half, Ragnar logo for Ragnar relay, and tiara for Disney Princess half):
  11. Awesome! I did 3 halves earlier this year and took off a few months for plastics. I'm ready to get back at it. What training plan are you following for the full marathon? I'd like to do one next year, as well as a mud run, and maybe an obstacle course race. I've got a charm bracelet that I'm adding a charm for each fitness event.

    NSV shout outs

I'm now wearing the same size clothes as my 13-yr old son (he's 6ft tall and 150lbs). Never thought that would happen!

When you can't even be honest with yourself

I chose not to tell anyone except my immediate family. I haven't lied about anything. I didn't make up another surgery to cover. I had mine done in Mexico and all anyone knows is that I took a trip to Mexico with my sister. No one has said anything or asked me how I lost weight. Everyone that I'm around knows that I started running a lot, so I guess they assumed I was losing from that. I have had people ask how much I have lost (rude!) and I say a bunch or enough. I'm a private person. I don't like talking about the surgery. It would bore me to tears answering the same questions over and over. I also had extensive plastic surgery this summer and didn't tell anyone but my best friend. I work at home and was in between projects so I didn't have to see anyone for two months. I'm guessing most people assume that I just lost more weight. I don't know why this subject comes up all the time.

    Bandage Allergy?

I had a lot of itching with my sleeve incisions. I took Benadryl and still had rashes. For my plastics this summer I bought 5 different paper tapes and tried them before surgery because I knew I was going to have to use tape on the dressings. The 3M micropore didn't bother me at all, so I used it. If it hadn't worked I was going to use the barrier spray.

    Bandage Allergy?

You could also try out a barrier spray or cream. It dries on the skin and the adhesive adheres to it instead of the skin. 3M makes one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000HY6T7M?pc_redir=1412329547&robot_redir=1 I have an adhesive allergy, but I am okay with micropore paper tape.

    Bone broth

There are two good Facebook groups for AIP diets. "Hashimoto's 411" has good information in general, but also has information for Hashimotos (thyroid autoimmune disorder) patients. "Elimination/Provocation Diet: Hashimoto's 411" is more recipe and diet specific. Pinterest is also good for finding recipes. I've tried eliminating gluten and am just not getting the results that I want. I'm thinking that dairy and soy may be the problems.

    Bone broth

AIP is an elimination diet. You eliminate inflammation producing foods for a period of time (usually 2 months) and then you can sometimes add them back in. It's really strict, but I'm in such a horrible flare up, I'm desperate. Foods you can't eat: gluten, dairy, soy, eggs, and nightshades. Google AIP diet for more info.

    Bone broth

I've just started on the anti-inflammatory protocol diet this week and bone broth is a recommended item on the diet. I have 3 autoimmune disorders. I'm having a major flare up and my inflammation levels are extremely high. I'm going out of town this weekend but planning on making it next week.
  19. Don't start taking anything pre-op without checking with your doctor, especially vitamin E as it can cause increased bleeding.

Why do I need so much protein?

Protein and the amino acids they provide are the building blocks for your body. Without it, you will feel tired and your body will start to use internal sources (your muscles) for fuel. Losing your muscles will result in a decrease in your metabolic rate (how many calories you're burning) and you will have to consume fewer calories to burn the same amount of fat you could have been burning with your muscles. Protein is also what helps your hair to grow. No protein equals lots of hair loss.
  22. I had the same thing happen after my plastics. I never vomited as much as during the initial stages of the sleeve as I did when wearing my garments. I had an arm lift, BL/BA, and lower body lift, so had to wear a top and bottom garment. They both pressed on my stomach area. I only lost a few pounds, but mainly because they took 4 pounds of skin. I really tried not to lose weight because I know how important protein is to healing. I switched over to drinking more protein shakes to get it down.

    Sagging Skin ?

I had saggy skin everywhere so I had plastic surgery. I had an arm lift, lower body lift w/ autologous butt flap implant, breast lift and augmentation, and neck lift. I am two months from surgery and overjoyed at the results.
