  1. For me it was surely the hardest part of the process. Your doctor is right, the hunger decreases after about the 4th day. The head hunger is still there, though. I drank a lot of Vitamin Water Zero for the electrolytes and Vitamins. It helped with headaches and fatigue. Also, a hot mug of chicken or beef broth was good when I got tired of the sweet stuff and the hot temperature seemed to be somewhat satisfying.

    Good luck......You can do it.

  2. The EASIEST stuffed peppers ever......saute some onions and mushrooms in a little olive oil until soft. Cut peppers half long ways, remove seeds, rib. Put a piece of provolone cheese in the pepper, add a few slices deli sliced roast beef, top with another slice of provolone cheese. Bake at 350° until heated through and cheese is melted. Low carb deliciousness!

I tried to edit but couldn't from my kindle but wanted to add They are "Philly Cheese Steak" stuffed peppers

  4. Are you taking a PPI? I was on Carafate and Prevacid for one month post op. These may help you.

If you healing stomach does not like your meal plan, do not progress. Give your stomach some more time to heal. You can stay on the liquids longer. It seems very early to be eating eggs, tuna and chicken. My plan called for creamed Soups, thinned cream of wheat and thinned mashed potatoes along with Water, broth, Protein drinks at the beginning.

You can also try different temperatures and different kinds of water.....tap Water, spring water, purified drinking water. Sounds silly but the sleeve is picky sometimes. There are still some brands of water that are difficult for me to drink. At the beginning I couldn't tolerate plain water. I mixed Apple juice with water 50/50. Yes, it had sugar and carbs but it kept dehydration away. Also, sugar free ice pops were my friend. Some people loved the crushed ice from Sonic.

Each day it will get a little better, you will drink more. If you have any doubt or questions call your surgeons office.

  5. You probably have a yeast infection from the moisture. Use lotrimin or

other anti-fungal cream. You can get these at Wal-Mart or a pharmacy. Keep the area clean and dry. You can use powder or cornstarch. You can also buy powder for jock itch like Tinactin.

That being said....if you think you might want that skin removed someday, see your doctor and document the problem and take pictures. If it is an ongoing problem, your insurance may pay for skin removal.

  6. Ask yourself how many times you have tried to lose weight with the latest new diet. Ask yourself how successful you have been. Ask yourself how many times you have lost significant weight and kept it off. Not bashing, just being honest....because I asked myself those same questions. You have the answers.

I tried it all....low fat, low carb, weight watchers, Atkins, slim fast. Lose some weight, always hungry, gain it back with more. The sleeve has made it possible for me to lose 75 pounds and maintain it. I never, ever thought I would be able to that in my lifetime battle with my weight.

Good luck in whatever you decide.

  7. Did you surgeon give you any prescriptions for acid reflux and nausea? I was very fortunate to not have nausea once I was home but in the hospital I was given Zofran for nausea. I was also given Prevacid for one month post op.

Call yor surgeon's office, tell the answering service you need a call from the surgeon or on call doctor. You can probably get a prescription called into your pharmacy today.

  8. When you say you are taking antacids do you mean Tums, Rolaids, etc? If that is all you are taking and not getting relief then you need Nexium, Prilosec or something similar.

Why suffer when something can help you....call your doctor for a prescritpion or get the over the counter at Walmart or drug store. You need to protect your esophogus from the excess acid too!

  9. Pretty much all meat is out including deli I continue to try something old and something new meat wise each week I used to love eating meat. I smell it now and gag.

I'm okay better with the egg sub and cheese. I use cheese made from skim or 1% milk. The PB and crackers are on days where I can't eat the egg after I've made it and sat down and can't eat it. I use a high Protein low sugar PB and very few crackers I intend to replace the crackers with apples as soon as I can keep them down. The Bacon is what I want to replace turkey bacon isn't much better for you then center cut pig bacon so I don't see it as a valid option. I DO NOT want to eat Peanuts and Goldfish for lunch. I am cutting out the Goldfish completely but wanted to be honest about what I am eating.

I will try making Soup, I'm thinking a ham(extreme lean) and bean chowder/stew would be chalk full of Protein and if I cut the ham small enough I might be able to eat it. I'm hoping that if I can eat bacon I can eat ham. It's really the texture that gets to me... bacon can be made extra crispy and Ham can not... I'll try it anyways maybe if I beat it to death and slow cook it for 800 hours it will be soft. :crosses fingers:

I hope the soup works out for you. Good luck! How far out are you? Does your surgeon or nutritionist have any suggestions? Maybe adding some unflavored Protein powder to your soup?

  10. Ok...sorry ,some tough love......your lunch is definitely all wrong.....besides not enough Protein, too many carbs. And I would skip the crackers at Breakfast. How about celery with Peanut Butter for Breakfast if you can digest it ok or greek yogurt? eggs and bacon are good. If you are worried about fat, try some turkey bacon. I start my day with a Protein Drink rather than end the day with it so I have 30 grams in me right away.

For lunch how about tuna salad? Egg salad? chicken salad, deli ham or turkey with some cheese and a pickle. Deli ham and turkey are usually moist and easy to digest. Chili, lentil Soup, black bean Soup. There are tons of alternatives that are better than peanuts and goldfish.
