    Can't do anymore protein!

Try the Isopure clear protein drinks. I have never tried them and from what I have read here you either love them or hate them. You can get them at Vitamin Shop, they are expensive but you need some protein. Hydration is crucial at first but soon enough you will have to increase your protein.
  2. I was doubly blessed with no gas pains and no nausea

    Can someone tell meeh

What are you eating? How far out from surgery are you? Have you asked your surgeon about this?

    Oh Chest Where Art Thou?

I was a tight 40DDD, had breast reduction in 2008 to a 38C. Lost almost 80 pounds since WLS and now I barely fill my 36B bras. : ( I did things backwards but I never even had a thought of WLS when I did the reduction. If I ever have money for plastics it would be for a tummy tuck and arm lift....I can deal with itty bitties....lol
  5. Well that is unfortunate that you do not have a good insurance coordinator fighting for you. Since this is a new requirement could you possibly file an appeal showing started the process prior to the new requirement? Best of luck You, don't give up.
  6. Have you done all.of the prep without seeing a surgeon? I met with my surgeon before any of the pre-prerequisites. He had an insurance coordinator and her sole job was making sure all insurance requirements were met and dealing with the insurance company for the patient. Can you make an appointment for a consult and bring all of your documentation?

Losing Hope Sleeve Leak 8 mos post op

Does Oregon not have state temporary disability benefits? Food banks? Unemployment benefits, EBT, etc? Local churches that help families in need? Find every possible benefit that you are entitled to and apply for it. Your surgeon's office should be able to help you with applying for disability.
  8. Sounds out of control already....like several others have said already...seek help as soon as you can before you seriously hurt yourself.
  9. I told no one except my husband, kids, parents and sister. This is your life, your body, your decision. At work they only knew I had to take off for medical reasons. One person actually asked me about it and I said hiatal hernia repair. My parents and sister weren't told until one week prior. I am a very private person and I didn't want questions, comments, opinions, etc for weeks prior. I also didn't want people watching me eat post op thinking....hmmm should she be eating that? I also wasn't positive I would lose and maintain the loss and then be judged. I still have not told anyone. When people ask about my weight loss I say lots of gym time and low carb eating(which is true!) I am not sure if any of this helped...but I think it is OK not to tell people if you do not want to. Good luck with your surgery!
  10. I was given Prevacid tha dissolved under my tongue. Maybe yo can try that.

    I am always sick

Constipation is an issue for many. I used Miralax mixed in tea a few times a week until I was able to eat fruits and veggies. I still use it occasionally.

    I am always sick

Call your surgeon.....and please do not skip ahead of your eating plan, your staple line needs to heal. I was "eating" only thinned out cream of wheat, creamed soups and protien drinks at 2.5 weeks.

    Anyone from New Jersey ?

Hmmm, I went to 3 and they were all run by the surgeon, had info on the types of surgery, question and answer time and former patients in attendance to speak and answer questions. Like I said before, keep looking until you are comfortable. I just had a feeling that Dr. Feteiha was for me. When you find the right surgeon you will know. Good luck. Oh, and by the way I can not say enough positive things about my nurses and patient care techs at Overlook, great care.

    Anyone from New Jersey ?

Have you been to an educational seminar? I used Dr. Feteiha at Overlook, really like him and he required attendance at the seminar. It was very informative and I liked his presentation . I actually attended 3 seminars and listened o 3 different surgeons. Definitely go for a second consult...or even a third until you are comfortable with your decision.

    I have this shirt in about 6 colors......not a cap sleeve http://www.walmart.com/ip/White-Stag-Women-s-Short-Sleeve-Scoop-Neck-Tee/41848424
  20. On full liquids you should be drinking protein drinks. Does your surgeon or nutritionist have them on your list?
  21. I only told my immediate family for the reasons you stated. I didn't want questions, I didn't want to be judged or have anyone watch every bite I took. I am sorry your friend had this reaction. Maybe you can get your support from a local WLS support group? Does your surgeon's office have them? Maybe google a support group? Good luck on your journey.
  22. Me too! I just could not choke down plain water for months. I drank apple juice diluted 50/50 with water. It was higher in sugar than I wanted but I got fluids in and it didn't stop my weight loss.

bowel movements are a no go

Try a Stool softener morning and night, Miralax a couple of times a week(it is non habit forming), up your water intake.
  24. Sorry about your mom. Unless you have unforseen complications you really shouldn't be laid up for too long. A week or two and most people are back to work so you should be OK to help your Mom somewhat.
