    Puree recipes?

I have read a few people puree Wendy's chili. I made lentil soup and chili, portioned out 1/2 cup servings into zip baggies and froze them....all ready to defrost and puree.
  4. I am still pre op but have a cruise scheduled for November. I was thinking board shorts or a cute pair of boys swim trunks to cover the thighs with a tankini top. Not going to even try to cover the bat wings.
  5. I had my last visit on Tuesday, submitting tomorrow. Fingers crossed for both of us!
  6. Well....it's really happening. Had my final visit with the surgeon today for my required 3 months for the insurance company. Submitting this week.....I am excited, nervous and a little nauseous....lol

    Finally Submitted

well that is very discouraging. I know all health insurance plans are different depending on what your employer chooses. Everything I have read about Aetna says BMI of 40+ or 35 + with co-morbitities. I certainly hope my surgeon and insurance coordinator wouldn't waste their time or mine. Keeping my fingers crossed and happy you are finally approved.

    Finally Submitted

I have Aetna...I am one more visit away from submitting. I have already confirmed that my plan covers WLS and my surgeon's office confirmed this and also confirmed a 3 month period of doctor visits and other requirements(which I have met, including a letter from my primary doctor recommending WLS) My BMI is 41, my suregon and insurance coordinator seem confident that I will be approved. Can I ask why you were denied for 18 months? None of my business really I am just curious/worried about what I may be up against.
  9. The Melting Pot? Have one near me, the dinner was ehhhhh, the dessert...oh my!

    my foods, what's wrong...so frustrated..

Does Curves have any free weights? If so, put a 10 lb weight on the scale to see if it is accurate and if it is you can adjust your home weight up or down to match the Curves scale.

    my foods, what's wrong...so frustrated..

that is incorrect Splenda is the brand name for sucrolose Equal is the brand name for aspertame two different things.....although I don't think either one is healthy in large quantities.

    will I be approved if?

My insurance company will not approve with a BMI under 40 with no co-morbitities and according to my surgeon that is the norm. You are SO close....can you wear heavy clothes when going to the doctor? Maybe gain a pound or two? I know, I know...the thought of purposely gaining weight seems so wrong, but you are a half point away from a BMI of 40. Your initial weight with the surgeon is what is used for insurance submittal. I am in the second month of my three month required medical supervision before submitting for approval. I have a BMI of 41 with no co-morbitities so I just sqeeked by. Good luck

    3 day post-op

didn't your surgeon give you a post op plan?

    reflux is it normal?

are you taking a PPI? I am still pre op but from all my research I see most people take a PPI post op

    5 days post op

I am still pre op but read these boards every day and have learned a lot. Are you on a PPI? I have read that acid can mimic hunger. Just putting it out there.
  16. fantastic article....there was one similar in the NY Times a while back. Nice to know that being hungry all the time is not in my head or a lack of self-control
  17. Hello, Met my surgeon on Tuesday. Been thinking about WLS for over a year but finally pulled the trigger and made the appointment. back in forth in my head for a year.....I can lose the weight on my own, no I can't, yes I can. Truth is, I can't...I have lost hundreds of pounds in my lifetime and gained them ALL back and have been miserable doing it. My insurance requires 3 months with the surgeon before submittal.....so I could be looking at surgery in June......YIKES! Waiting on my coordiantor to call with my appointments for psych, nutritionist and gallbladder ultrasound. It is soooo real now. Michele
