I didn't have staples that needed to be removed, so I can't say for certain, but it sounds like it would be a good idea to wait.

I try not to lift as much, but I have to sometimes. My two year old (30 lbs) knows I have an owie, but he still needs to be lifted on occasion. I would say, at minimum, have help for two weeks if you can find any.

Tried my first "bariatric" recipe...outside of making shakes...

My doctor's office had a ChefDave.org recipe out called "Smooth Albacore Tuna Spread." Tried it last night. Pureed 7 oz albacore tuna, 1 tsp hot sauce, 1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice, 1/4 cup light mayo, 1/4 cup light sour cream, 2 Tbsp fresh dill and 1 tsp garlic, minced. This makes SIX two-tablespoon servings. 8 g. protein, 90 cal. The only thing I will do differently next time is omit the garlic. It's a little much for my stomach right now. I was skeptical that 2 Tbsps of tuna would be "satisfying," but it was. -
All of my December sleevers...
Sadlers1999 replied to blkdiamond377's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You and I are almost the same. Sleeved on 12/17. Down from 222 to 215. Getting 60-70 g of protein. Getting 6-7 cups of water. Consistently walking. Today did 3 1/4 miles on elliptical at gym. I would blame this on the diet I was prescribed...full liquids right after discharge...but my doctor says that his patients typically lose 15-20 lbs...presumably with the same instructions.. Guess we have to hang tough. -
Dec. 17 Sleevers - How are you on week out?

If you are a low BMI, I think you should get feedback from low BMI-ers. Not sure if you will lose as fast as a high BMI-er.

I have Hashimoto's so my body temps run cooler to begin with, but since surgery, I wear a thick pair of socks at ALL times.

Dec. 17 Sleevers - How are you on week out?
Sadlers1999 replied to sars's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Was cleared for elliptical yesterday, so a friend watched my kids so I could go back to the gym. Did an hour on the elliptical...Still slow....Only did three miles and 1/4 in an hour, but at least nothing hurt. I am going to have to get faster if I want to get 10,000 steps in a day. Even with the elliptical, I am just over 8,000, but it's unlikely that the movement around the house is going to give me another 2,000 steps by bedtime. -

Well, I am also notably the one who hasn't lost much weight. Coincidence? -

Well, I am only in week 3, but with differences in physician instructions, I am probably one of the few people in this forum who can eat this at week 3. -
anyone had biotin for Hair loss
Sadlers1999 replied to msreaina's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
But, you haven't had surgery, yet. Is it possible that post-surgery, your body will not respond negatively to the biotin? I mean, we need a lot more nutrients post-surgery than pre-surgery, so wouldn't biotin be something like that? -

Re: calories - I am definitely able to consume the target of 600-800 calories. I was never on a clear liquid diet post surgery. That being said, my doctor's other patients are told the same thing and they still lose 15-20 lbs on average. As for walking, I have the stamina to walk for a long time, the problem is that I am on my neighbor's treadmill and I don't want to be going back and forth to her house too much, so I stay on for an hour. The treadmill kind of jostles me and I think that is what upsets my stomach (versus natural walking outside). I have a pedometer and even when I walk on the treadmill, I am still not up to 10,000 steps a day. That is really my first goal...to get to that target. -

Eating too much
Sadlers1999 replied to Butterflysecrets's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just got weighed for the first time officially post surgery. At 2weeks,2 days, I only lost 7 lbs. you were sleeved almost a month before me, so I think our trajectories are similar. Sigh...I am able to eat 600-800 calories a day...no reprucussions.
