I'm 8 months out and only 35# down. Tonight I ate some spaghetti with Italian Sausage and I had to throw it up. This was the first time since surgery. I've been in a stall for 2 months and I'm sooooo discouraged. I contacted the Nut in Tijuana and was told to do weight loss shakes 3x per day one green salad or broth and Water. This was 3 weeks ago and I can't stick to it. I need some motivation...

I've been stuck in a stall for abt a month now. I was sleeved 1/21/13. Starting weight 215. Current weight 181.9. I keep fluctuating between 178 and 182. So frustrated. Gonna try going back to a liquid diet for a few days to jump start the loss again.

Sleeved Jan 21 down 35 lbs. stalled and keep fluctuating between 3-5 lbs. I definitely can tell inches are going down if the scale isn't moving. Have gone from a size 18/20 to 14.

I hated the way it would look under my clothes like this huge hole in my stomach. Now you can't even see it! This is a fat girl victory for me.

Yea Protein is still hard for me. I stopped the shakes but I think I need to go bk to them for a supplement.

I had my surgery on 12/12/12, just had my 3 month check up and I've lost 53 pounds.

My skin has never been smoother. My cholesterol is 140 down from 214. My lipids are 133 down from 190. My liver is no longer throwing enzymes. My blood pressure is normally 115-120/55-65 down from 150-130/100-80. I can have sex in any position and breath. I don't pee my underwear anymore when coughing, sneezing, picking something up, laughing or farting.(lol) my lady parts don't stink anymore. I don't sweat like a stuffed pig in the fire anymore. I can cross my legs. I can fit into my bath tub and soak!i don't have to wait for the handicapped bathroom stall anymore, I fit in the regular one. When i am eating in public no one stares at me....like omg...why is she eating that? All the seat belts fit for everything. I can go on all the amusement park rides! I get checked out by the opposite sex. My self confidence is back. And there are so many more...but I would have to write a book to get them all. The best good side effect would be that I am living life to the fullest again...if there is something I want to do I don't think...can I do that? I know I can! I feel so blessed and lucky!

First thing to remember is not to compare yourself to anyone else. NO ONE has your body, your genetics, your stress, your mindset, your daily life. So you are comparing apples to turnips, if you compare yourself to others here on VST or anywhere else!
Next, by my calculation, you are 9 weeks post-op and you've lost close to 36 lbs! This is 4 lbs/week. When was the last time (before your surgery) you were able to lose 4 lbs/week over a 9 week period (even with a 6 week stall?). Never, I'll bet!
Your body is trying to work through the major assault it has been subjected to. The VSG is a significant trauma to your stomach, and the anaesthesia and post-op recovery is a huge insult to the rest of your body. Give it time to react, adjust and heal!
Stop weighing yourself and concentrate on making sure you track your fluids, your Protein intake and seeing/feeling how your body is reacting to the subtle changes in your diet. You are slowly moving towards a more "normal" eating pattern. Pay close attention to what your body tolerates, what it doesn't like, how you feel when you eat certain foods, how eating at a certain time of day impacts you, how not drinking enough slows you down, etc.
There is so much to pay attention to right now......don't let the stupid scale take all your attention and motivation away. The weight will drop off, if you stay on track..........it's mathematically impossible for it NOT to. But it won't happen on a schedule, it won't be linear, there WILL be stalls that you just can't seem to break. STAY THE COURSE. You will get there.
VST is full of posts just like yours. You are not the first to go through this, you won't be the last and you are NOT alone, even right now! But we're all here to help, to listen, to give advice and to let you know that you will be successful. You just have to believe it, and LIVE it.......it will happen.

I'm in the same boat. I actually gained 1 pound then lost it over 2 days. But still nothing significant in the past 5 days now. I was sleeved 1/21

Wow congrats!!! I'm just at 3 weeks post op and for the past week have lost nothing. The first 2 weeks I lost 17lbs. I don't know what to change up. I'm drinking up to 16oz of Water, 1-2 Protein Shakes a day, Jello, and Soups typically. Why an I having a stall?

I took my Spanx with me to Mexico when I had my surgery in April.. I also packed mostly maxi dresses... I can't tell you enough how glad I was to have my Spanx!! I wear the Higher Power that come up to my bra and go to my mid-thigh.. Plus, they have a split crotch which is just soooooo convenient!! They gave me the support that I needed without the tightness of a true compression garment. Plus, I had a drain and my Spanx held it in place wonderfully!!! I have always been an avid Spanx wearer because the really do smooth out my "kibbles and bits" and truly feel like a 2nd skin!! Love Them!!

strawberry shake (or Iced):
•8oz 1% milk (I use a food scale)
•1 scoop vanilla unjury powder (can be purchased online @ www.Unjury.com)
•5 oz. Frozen Unsweetened Strawberries (I use a food scale)
•4 Splenda
•1 tsp. vanilla Extract
•Add Ice to cup until full (I use a beverage blender, it works best in my opinion)
Blend until ice is smooth, but don't over blend or your drink will be liquid)...if it is liquid add ice cubes afterwards & it's still a delicious iced!!!

If you wanted to you could peel, slice, & freeze a banana in a ziploc freezer bag and and that aswell. 1/2 banana + 1/2 strawberry.< /p>

Replace the strawberry with any fruit you prefer.
(Frozen Cherries, Peaches, Banana, Mango, Blueberries, etc.)
****I do not like raspberry, blackberry or mixed triple berry because the seeds do not blend well.
***For those wondering, I use a Cuisinart Beverage Blender, it was around $70, but w/ 20% coupon @ Bed, Bath, Beyond it's $60)

The weight will come off slowly. You will be bloated for the first couple of days. Don't loose hope. It's going to workout for you.

APPROVED!! Surgery set for February 28, 2013. Im so excited and so nervous all at the same time. I feel like I shld go to bed early every night, so that day can hurry and get here. Lol.
