  1. The only ones I can stomach (no pun intended) are the Premier Protein chocolate shakes. I recommend them so much I should get a kickback from that company. Determined_Me: They have 1 gram per 11oz serving.
  2. My goals are 90 grams of protein, 80 ounces of water and 1100 calories a day. Going to the gym five days a week also helps.
  3. Best letter ever from an insurance company "Your financial responsibility = $0.00"

  4. I live on the 2nd floor and it wasn't a problem at all. You'll be fine.
  5. I finally got the big envelope from my insurance today regarding my surgery bill... Six pages of explanations and instructions on how to read the 7th page with the numbers on it. At the bottom of that page was : "Your financial responsibility: $0.00" I never thought I would would ever be happy to get a letter from my insurance company
  6. Sleeved 1/8, down 59 pounds as of this morning!

    Boobs?

I know, it hardly seems fair
  8. I had a piece of bread dunked in stew and it was ok, but I took really small bites. Haven't had salad yet.
  9. Take dime sized bites and chew the daylights out of each bite. It takes some serious conscious effort to override a lifetime of eating habits.
  10. I started on Bariatric Advantage chewable vitamins the day I got home from the hospital. Is having your abdomen cut open in multiple places desirable? A lot of what we have to go through pre and post op isn't desirable, but they're things we have to suck up and deal with. Having to add vitamin crystals to your protein drinks for a few days will be the least of your worries, so I wouldn't waste time obsessing over it. It'll be over and done with before you know it and then you can complain about how bad the chewables taste
  11. I had a 3 week low-carb diet (less than 20 grams/day) and lost 17 pounds.
  12. I had mine with Dr. McMahon at Swedish in Seattle. I couldn't be happier with the experience and the outcome so far.

    Costco/Trader Joe Shopping list

What's the sodium per serving on those? I love jerky but the sodium in them is a killer so I save it for a rare treat. Lots of great ideas in this thread, thanks everyone!

    Drink or eat before workout?

Carbs before, Protein after is the general rule. Carbs trigger an increase in insulin production which allows glucose to get into your cells for energy. they also replenish glycogen stores for muscle energy while you're working out. Protein helps repair cells and create new ones after the workout is done.

    Boobs?

When the boobie fairy made her rounds she skipped my house so I've never had much in that department and they're certainly not looking better as I lose weight. There will definitely be some surgical intervention in that area once I'm in goal weight territory.
  16. Some people need to be kicked to the curb. This woman and her daughter sound like those kind of people.
  17. Yup. If you have no pain then WHAM, your shoulder starts hurting. Get to the doc ASAP.
  18. Mine hurt for about a week in gradually lessening amounts before it was all gone.
  19. Get up and get moving and eventually it'll work its way out. Not much else you can do for it unfortunately
  20. I told my boss, but only because we're friends. It isn't anyone else's business.

    Any regrets?

My only regret is the classic one; I regret not doing it sooner.
  22. It has nothing to do with the anesthesia. It's from the CO2 they use to inflate the surgical field. Some CO2 gets trapped and left behind after surgery and it irritates the phrenic nerve which starts in the neck and ends in the diaphragm.
