  1. I am getting sleeved on April 17. Yes' date=' I am scared too. I read posts on here and get brave, then I read others and question if I really want to do this.

I hope everything goes well with you and I hope we can get over the anxiety and realize that we will be ok. We have to put our lives in God's hands.

Keep in touch and we can compare notes.[/quote']

Hello, I am going 1 day after you!!! We will be fine!!! GOD HAS US!! ????

  2. Freaking out over here. Less than two weeks to go from band to sleeve and having a hard time silencing my fears about the sleeve not working for me and nervousness about surgery itself. I want and need this surgery. It's time to finish what I started over 5 years ago when I got the band. I'm just....afraid I guess. I don't want to fail again and I want my surgery to be as smooth as it has been for so many of you. Surgery scares me. Please tell me that I'm not alone with these feelings. So many people are so gun-ho about the surgery and I'm only gun-ho about the weight loss lol...the surgery? Not so much. I changed my surgery date twice. I am not changing it again. It's time.

What is keeping me somewhat grounded is the positive outcome for sooo many' date=' the low complication rate, my facility is a Center for Excellence and my surgeon is rated one of the top surgeons in the country. My rational mind knows that my worry about surgery is blown out of proportion. I mean, I'm big but I'm not unhealthy. My surgery outcome should be fine. I just need to calm down, but I'm having a hard time doing that.

    Please help. Thanks.[/quote']

I feel the same!!! WE HAVE THE SAME DATES!!!!! I could have typed your post. Deep breaths. WOO SAAA!!!! WE will be fine!!

  3. hi guys been a while. got sleeved on 01-29-13. lost a total of 70 pounds thus far' date=' looking to lose a lot more. however i have stopped for a little bit. the "plateau" phase maybe? haven't lost in almost 7-10 days. oh well. I'll keep working on it.

anyways, regarding coffee. I haven't had coffee since September.

But now....I have a 1 year old baby and my wife is also 4 months pregnant.

Needless to say, I am on no sleep. My daughter is teething and I'm up all night. I can't function the next day. I know it can dehydrate me so what I'm doing today....(my first coffee since Sept)

i got a small ice coffee - 1/2 regular 1/2 Decaf with skim milk. and i plan on drinking an extra 20oz of Water at least.

Speaking of which, i always take my multi gummies and my Vitamin B but sometimes I forget to take my calcium+D. i def feel it too. i feel tired and weak and sometimes lazy. I think it's because i hate the chewable tablets. i need to buy more of those little chocolate chew bites.

Yesterday on easter i did watch what i ate. I did notice i got some stomach pain on the left side yesterday. I'm thinking it was because my new jeans were tight and not because I overate.

still trying to stay clear of bread Pasta and rice, even cereal.

hope you all had a good easter. thanks for reading. and I appreciate all and any input/advice. thank you[/quote']

You should be okay,my doctor said to wait 6 weeks!!! Get some COFFEE!!! ;). GOD BLESS!!! ;)

  4. I was getting super sick from the whey Proteins - violently and explosively. I switched to Jay Robb egg white Protein powder. It has 25g Protein and zero off smell and sits fine. You can get it at Whole Foods. I recommend trying the sample pack they sell to see if you like it. It's the only protein I can stomach. I' date=' too, thought Premier was tolerable pre-surgery, but made me sick post and grossed me out with that foul whey smell. Amazon also sells the Jay Robb if you don't have a Whole Foods nearby.[/quote']

I will try it thanks!!!! ;)

  5. I'm not a emotional eater but I freaking love food..I keep telling my self I can do this but I'm really not sure if I can. Watching my family' date=' bf, friends eat fries,Chinese food...pasta..and me not being able to eat it will be torture. I have to keep reminding my self my stomach will be small so that will make it easier to not eat the carbs cause I won't have much room but still. How did you get through not being able to eat fatty foods?[/quote']

I think all of us in some form are addicted to food, whether it is sweet or salty! The doctors are going to fix our stomachs but most people that have been sleeved (I haven't yet 4-18-13) say that the Head Hunger is the hardest!!! Your stomach will feel full but your mind will want MORE FOOD!!!! Good Luck!!! You can do it!!!

  6. Oh man' date=' there has been a change in me. For the first time since I have been old enough to drive and have my own money I am not obsessed with running to buy clearanced easter candy. This week I was able to eat pretty intuitively (not obsessing over limits) and still lose three pounds.

This is more than I could have ever wished for.[/quote']

You are getting better and better!! Good for you!!!! ;)

  7. March 13th in Tijuana Mexico. I have been blessed with an extremely easy recovery thus far.. Just hoping to get past the DVT and leak "danger" window and then I will breathe easy. My sleeve has had almost no inflammation' date=' I didn't take any pain medicine since leaving the hospital and wasn't even given any narcotic pain medicine when I was there (I asked them not to give me any since narcotics make me feel yucky.. I'd rather have pain than take narcotics). I've been able to drink freely since the day after my surgery (drank 80 ounces of Fluid the very next day after surgery with no problems at all) No nausea after day two.. I did have some stomach spasms that lasted the first several days. For the first two days, they'd stop me in my tracks, but reduced in intensity over the next week until they went away completely. The diet is progressing amazingly. I enjoyed a scrambled egg for Breakfast this morning with 1/4 cup of curried lentils pureed with spinach and carrots and I added a few splashes of hot sauce. VERY yummy! Getting 70 grams of Protein a day.. about half from food and the other half from shakes and I'm able to get all my Water. Getting all my Vitamins in pill form so no need for yucky chewables. I'm back to work at my boyfriend's store and not even tempted by all the chips and pastries we sell there, I'm working full days on my feet, but not doing any lifting or extensive bending/streching yet. Incisions healing very well. I couldn't be more thrilled with my VSG experience so far![/quote']

it's so Encouraging when someone has a awesome, great, Smooth recovery!!! I hope to have the same. You are Blessed!!! Good Luck and continued excellent recovery!!!????
