SeriouslyChange got a reaction from LoreLu in Sleevers over 300lbs?
    Highest weight: 330
    Surgery day: 305
    Current weight: 220
I'm short, 5'4, so the weight is obvious on me, not that I could hide it...
Progressing along nicely I think. Not as fast as some, but slow and steady wins the race

SeriouslyChange got a reaction from MrsLucas in What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
My grandmother passed away 2 days before my birthday and I realized that if I looked back on my life when I was 90, I wouldn't want to think, "if only I did something about my weight instead of letting it hold me back." I couldn't fit in movie theater seats. I am always sweating at work. I always feel like people are looking at how fat I am. Most of it is in my head and it took me a few years to work on those demons. Now I am finally ready to work on my life as a whole and improve my future physically and mentally.

SeriouslyChange got a reaction from Chrystee in Did anyone's spouse lose attractiveness when they got close to goal?
Pre-Op, my psych eval had a segment focused on post-op and relationships. I forget the exact figure, but a number of relationships/marriages fall apart post-op.
    Mine did.
I am happier now than I was before, but pre-op, this was a bit of a fear for me as well.

SeriouslyChange got a reaction from Bndtoslv in Over a year out: How much can you eat?
    I'm about 2.5 years out
I can't eat a full serving that includes starchy carbs in one sitting. I can pick at it throughout the day and eat it for breakfast/lunch/dinner.
I've always hated sweets, so it's not a problem for me
I'm still a huge lightweight when it comes to drinking, which is a good/bad thing depending on how you look at it.
I can easily eat 3-7oz of Protein
I can eat 2-3 slices of toast
    2 slices of pizza
1 whole bagel with cream cheese
3/4 of a super burrito no rice
Depending on how I'm eating, I can stretch my sleeve out to whole bagel size or shrink it down to 1.5 hard boiled eggs. It's fairly simple to do.
My highest weight was 330, surgery weight 305 lowest weight 148 current weight 165. My goal weight at 5'4 was 175 so I'm feeling great about myself. I would like to lose a little more but I'm happy as is.

How big are your portions and how fast do you eat them? Are you full on throwing up? Or just sliming?
I'm 6 months and slime almost everyday. I tend to shoot for 2oz of Protein and am only able to hold down 1-1.5oz. I just Serve myself smaller portions and go from there

Tracking calories will never be a bad thing. Some people, like me, freak out over eating too much. I am lax about a lot with the sleeve, my calories are something I don't mess around with.

I treat my calories like cash. Some days I spend my "money" on good foods and have some to spare, some days I go crazy and have drinks but I make sure to stay within "budget"
If only I were this strict with my actual money lol

My dad chewed me out the same way pre op. i went to my dads yesterday and told him, "look at my jeans! They're so big now, soon I'll need a whole new wardrobe and for some reason, heavy people don't donate clothes!" He smiled a smile that showed me he was truly happy that I was happy. He then told me, "hopefully this whole thing you went through will help you have a better life and be happy"
    Parents. Gotta love em

The sleeve is only a tool. You can eat and do whatever you want. A lot of people develop better eating habits post op because it is easier.
The sleeve also isn't a magic bullet for weight loss. Calories in still equal weight gain. So what works for you now, may not always.
I nibble at "forbidden foods" every once in a while, but I don't eat them on a daily basis. Too much is at risk: I love how I feel now and would cry if I gained.
    I'm 11 months and 162 lbs down.

Depending how your relationship with food was before, I would say be careful.
3 bites now could become 1/2 a slice of cake in a month or 2.
    It's a domino effect.
I'm not coming down on you or judging you, I'm just giving you a heads up: don't wait until you actually see something happen to do something. Prevention is key!
Plus, on a nutritional level, sweet and fatty foods aren't good for you. They taste good but have no nutritional value.
