Dogminst reacted to TexasT in Any Dallas Area Sleevers?
Recently moved to Fort Worth from Flower Mound. Had my first WLS in 2006 with revision in 2010, so I'm the opposite of a "newbie" - ha!

Dogminst got a reaction from Stranger 123 in Negative Boyfriend
I think you are very pretty and I think your BF is very insecure. I don't see either of those changing. Probably time to get someone in your life that is supportive!

Dogminst got a reaction from CG75 in Dr. Jay - Your Experience
Hello,
My Name is Don and I was sleeved by Dr. Jay on Nov. 6th. So far everything has gone as planned except a couple stalls. I have lost 53 lbs. so far but I have been stalled for half the time since I have had the sleeve. I am also a Lap Band Revision. I was Banded in 2003 and lost the band in 2005. It took me 5 years to figure out a way to get the sleeve but I got here. Better late than never I say Lets hear your experiences.

I don't remember where I got the original recipe, but I love it. It takes about 2 hrs including baking time.
In deep pot on medium, melt 1 tsp butter and sautee 2 diced onions. Towards the end add 1 container of washed diced mushrooms. I've also added finely diced carrots and celery. I dislike peppers, but if you like them, I'd add them here. Cook until done then remove to bowl. Add 1 1/2 to 2 lbs of ground beef or turkey. Cook until done and if ground beef drain & rinse.
Add veggies back to pot and 1 jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce. If you have some time add a can of tomatoes (I like the italian ones) and let the sauce reduce. If not, ignore the canned tomatoes.
In a 9x13 (minimum) pan (or the Rachel Ray Bubble set, it makes 1 lg & 1 sm dish), add 1/2 your meat sauce. Slice up 3 to 4 zucchini, squash, or eggplant lengthwise. I've tried making the lasagna 2 ways, adding raw and sweating on the pancake skillet first. I prefer sweating them as I don't like as much crunch and the raw adds more moisture to the dish which has to be drained off so one step for another. Anyways...layer your veggie covering all the meat sauce.
Mix up 1 container ricotta cheese with 1 egg and 1 tsp+ italian seasoning. I go heavy on seasoning. Add the whole ricotta mix to the layered veggies and spread it out.
Next add 1/2 a bag of fresh spinach. It cooks down. You could use frozen, I haven't tried it though. Next add the rest of the meat sauce.
Cover with 1/2 container of shredded parm cheese. Add 3/4 to entire pack of shredded mozz cheese and spread out. Top with remaining parm cheese. Sprinkle with italian seasoning.
Preheat oven to 350. Cover lasagna with foil and bake 45 minutes. Remove from oven, scoop out any excess liquid (from the veggies), and bake 15 more minutes. I hit it on broil for a minute or so to brown the cheese.
I don't know the calorie count per serving but 4 oz fills me up for a LLLOONNNGG time and it is delicious and has a lot of Protein goodness (spinach, meat, ricotta, parm, mozz cheese).

Dogminst got a reaction from coltonwade in Nov Sleevers... What's Your Status?
Yep, I am indeed a revision. Of course I lost the band 5 years ago from erosion but I do indeed know the issues with the Lap Band. Glad I finally got the sleeve! Congrats on your revision.

The only Protein Powder I found that I could stomach (pardon the pun) was Cinnamon Roll by Pep-Tide.

Dogminst reacted to LJlow in 5 Days Out And Feeling Really Good!
New member! Had my sleeve on 11/28 and have actually felt really good since the first day. Really feel bad for those who have been having trouble. Hang in there everyone, we knew when we made the choice, some things would be hard. Keep your eyes on the prize....a HEALTHIER YOU :-) one day at a time!

Dogminst got a reaction from BabyHuey in 3 Days Post-Op Vertical Sleeve
Congrats! I am only 25 days out and life is almost back to normal. It gets ALOT better as soon as the pain goes away which for me was probably by day 4. Once you get to the soft food diet (2 days ago for me) life feels like normal again. I am down 42 lbs. so far. Good luck!
