    Progress update

<iframe src="http://s1299.photobucket.com/user/LifetimeLoser/story/109773/embed" width="650" height="400" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe> Aloha, Just checking in. I was sleeved January 30, 2013. I started at 311 pounds and currently weigh 171 pounds. I have not reached goal yet. I am still happy with my progress, but I definitely took some detours along the way. Hang in there everyone. I know sometimes when the scale stays the same for more than a week it is frustrating, but eventually it does come off. Stay strong, count calories (or whatever works for you), keep active, and look ahead.

how much can you eat after a year?

well, I can't eat much more than I could a few months post surgery. I recently did a 10 day cleanse/detox and after I was done I could eat way less. I don't know ounces, but I know for me I can still eat about the same. If I eat naughty foods...sliders...it will be a lot more.

    Progress so far

I haven't been on here in awhile. I don't really like the new site, but I wanted to update my progress for my friends. Currently I weigh 171 pounds. That is a 140 pound loss so far. My goal is to be around 135 pounds. I am definitely fit and active. I want to be more fit and more active. I have new found muscle on my body. I do have a lot of extra skin. The smaller I get, the more noticeable it is. I will definitely have to have something done. The main thing that bothers me is my arm skin. At least my stomach I can hide it, but the arms it is like I can't hide it. I can't wear short sleeves and even if I wear long sleeves you can still see it. I'm not complaining...yet. I am ecstatic about my progress and how my body has changed. I recently went on a cleanse to get things moving again. Although I have lost inches, the scale has been at the same number for 3 months now. I gave in to all the hype and did this ever so popular 10 day cleanse and it broke my stall! I lost 12 pounds which feels AMAZING. I am going to do it again in a couple of weeks and see how much more I can lose. Good luck to everyone on your journey. Cheering you on.

    Chew chew chew...?

On occasion I still struggle with this. I pay for our, of course. It's hard to change a lifetime habit in under a year.

    Best Protein Bars

I am also a fan of quest bars. In the beginning, I just got the standard ones from costco. Over time, I didn't care for the coatings on all of them. Most protein bars have that chocolate coating that just got too sweet for me. I found quest bars and they are wonderful. I can keep them in my car in the hot sun and not worry about them being a mess when I want to eat one. Cookie dough is my fav!!!

    Depo shot

I was on depo pre-sleeve and I gained 80 pounds within a year. My appetite was triple what it was pre depo shot! I agree that thing is evil!
  14. 8 months out here and there is NO WAY I could eat a 6 inch sub. I had a filet o fish yesterday and only ate most of the fist piece and almost a half of a bun and I was stuffed...like to the point where it was hurting a little. I try to stay away from bread because it fills me up so fast. Even wraps i try to take most of it off. I can be very strict on my carbs, but I find that even on those days that I think I ate A LOT of carbs I have only managed about 100 grams. It is still very difficult at my stage to eat the protein I need first and then still have room for carbs.

  17. Hello fellow sleevers, I made my first green smoothie today in my vitamix blender. It consisted of kale, ginger, apple, carrot, and almond milk. Well, lets just say my green monster tasted just as nasty as it looked! I really, really, really, really, did I say really??? I really want to like and enjoy green smoothies!!! Anyone have great recipes to share? I don't eat a lot of vegetables because I still barely have room for my Protein. I want to get some greens in there and I know what great benefits green smoothie drinks have raved about. Will my taste buds adapt to the green smoothie taste? Or maybe I am doing something wrong? Help!

    Was I too Open?

I told the world also and anyone who asks. As I've lost more and more weight I have gotten more and more comments so I don't tell everyone right away. If they probe me and want to more about my journey, then I let them in on my secret...which is no secret. I guess I feel as if having surgery is just part of who I am and part of my life. I am not ashamed of having surgery or I wouldn't have gotten it done in the first place. I think those feelings of negativity or even trying to hide something so big in my life is such a burden. I don't need anything else weighing me down...I've got myself to do that! Telling everyone was part of letting go for me. It was freeing I guess. I didn't have this secret to hide. I didn't have to wonder if people were going to find out or figure it out. It was relief for me and freedom to walk my journey the way I wanted to walk it. As for those people with negative or judgemental comments, I try to educate them. If they don't listen, then I don't listen. We have a choice as to whom we let into our heart. I don't have the room or the energy for people who try to bring me down.

    gained 4 lbs?

It happens. It just happened to me this week also. I don't usually fret about it, but I do examine closely what I have been eating. I am very sensitive to sodium. For example, pre-surgery I could gain 15 pounds during a weekend of "partying", but if I ate clean the next couple of days following that weekend I would drop the 15 pounds no problem. So, I understand that my body has the capability of hoarding water weight. It will come off. I would drink a lot of water.

    300's

Started at 311. Sleeved January 30th of this year. Currently 204 pounds. Why exactly do you think you are too big for this surgery?
