    Pregnancy

Don't stress . I didn't get pregnant that quickly after surgery, but I had hyperemesis with my 6 week old. I threw up everything I are for 23 weeks- and the second I quit throwing up pre-term labor started. I was not considered high risk by my OB. I had an 8 week, 20 week, 24 week and 30 week ultrasound. (The last two were to check on minor issues found at my 20 week ultrasound that resolved). Baby grew ahead the entire time. He was 21" and 7lb2oz. He's now 6 weeks old almost 23" and 9lband change.

    Before and After Pics

Here's some pics- I started in Nov 2012- date of surgery I was 248. I got pregnant Sept 2013- 10 months post op. I was 20lbs from goal. 150lbs Those "after" pics were taken right before I found out I was pregnant. Just for comparison sake- this is me the day before I had my son and two weeks after. I'm currently 131. I'm currently in a size 4-6 and small (which are some times too big). I'm 4'11 and most of my weight is boobs and excess belly skin. (The flabby picture was taken 1 week after my son was born).
  3. My feet shrunk from an 8.5-9 to a 7.5-8. They are also all skin and bones now lol. My big boned self was also a 6.5-7 ring pre surgery lol. My husband calls me his pocket wife all the time- or his little miracle (a local radio station started calling girls under 5'3 with big boobs little miracles and it stuck). I'm pretty sure without the girls I would be 20lbs lighter. (I'm nursing my new baby now and currently in a 34H, but I've always had big boobs no matter the weight).
  4. I was at the same place as you . I had my son 5/1- I gained a whopping 1lb while pregnant( lost 15). I got pregnant weighing 149-150, I weigh 131 now
  5. Thank you so much! You will be blissfully happy. It's truly been life changing in every way possible. I'm a much happier person- people around me are happier. I can wear what ever I want within reason. It's been great. I still have that moment of oh I don't know if that size large will fit and then it hangs off of me, but I'm coming to terms with the fact that after spending 26.5 years lying to myself and saying I was big boned- I'm really super petite (heck my ring size is a 3.75 now!!!).
  6. Hi! I'm 28- I did have two kids before surgery, and just had baby number 3 May 1st. I'm 4'11. I was 248 before surgery (although I think I gained after that point, too.). I was a size 20/22. I was 131 this morning when I weighed. I'm currently in a size 6-ish? Sometimes 4 rarely an 8. I wear size small tops and smalls in most dresses/maxi skirts. I will attach a pic of me one week post baby. I haven't taken any more pics since, but I will. My belly is saggy(but that was there fat or now lol). It's easily hidden in clothes and I'm not looking to be a bikini model. I attached a pic of me in a sleeveless dress also. My arms have always been semi toned (I was pretty athletic through high school) and my thighs are decent, too. The very top is a little wrinkly, but it's not overly noticeable even in a bathing suit.
  7. As someone who just had baby post-sleeve. I would definitely wait on any contouring until after pregnancy. My body changed from pre-pregnancy to after. And definitely stretched a lot during pregnancy. I joked with my husband that I had 115lbs of extra skin and still wound up with some stretch marks I didn't have before!
  8. I got pregnant 10 months post-op. I was down 100 and about 15lbs from goal. I really didn't gain much while pregnant (7lbs total). I was 152-ish when I got pregnant (size 10). This morning (2.5 weeks after baby) I was 134.2. I'm perfectly happy with my loss and just need to tone up. I'm 4'11 so my weight puts me somewhere between a size 4-6 depending on brand. I'm wearing size 6 non stretch denim shorts today. I'm also breastfeeding baby, too and that helps with weight loss- but also makes you ravenously hungry.

    Hi risk pregnancy!

I was thinking about you the other day! Glad you're doing well! I had my little guy yesterday just after midnight. He's perfectly healthy and was born at 37w2d. 7lb 2.5oz and 21" long. I gained 10ish lbs after losing 13 (so total of 23lbs gained from my lowest).

    Weight During/After Pregnancy

Hi . I'm still pregnant (35 weeks), but I will answer what I can. I lost 13lbs from hyperemesis. Not fun at all, but it is what it is. At that point- my surgeon told me to eat what stayed down. I was 10 months out when I got pregnant and down almost 100. I got to 2lbs from goal with my pregnancy loss . I was 155 on my docs scale (which weighs 6lbs heavier than mine at home) and got down to 142.5 on their scale. I planned to gain 10-15lbs. At 35 weeks I was 152.5 on my docs scale yesterday. My doctor is completely happy with this. It's been hard for me to gain honestly. My restriction is still there big time- especially now that baby is so big (and I'm not- I'm 4'11 with a short torso- so he is taking up every little bit of room he can). My goal is 135 on my home scale and I know I will get there. I'm not too worried about it currently as I'm planning to breastfeed and I will have to keep my calories around 1500-1800 to keep my supply. So- I will not even worry about trying to lose anymore until he is weaned. I will say even at my height and weight- I'm wearing small and XS maternity clothes and even they are baggy sometimes. I haven't gained anywhere except my belly- and I have definitely gained there . Kiddo is measuring perfectly (actually according to my last ultrasound he was showing 3 weeks ahead by measurements) and my fundal height is off by about that much as well . I will keep you updated with what happens once he is here- which could be any day now.
  11. I'm almost 34 weeks. This pregnancy has been hard- but I know my problems have not been related to the sleeve. I had hyperemesis and lost 15ish pounds. I've struggled to gain back. I'm just now back to 1lb under pre-pregnancy weight. I threw up consistently (with meds) at least 8-10 times a day- spent 6 trips getting fluids. I've also had SPD and pre-term labor (both of which I had with my 2nd pregnancy). Only "problem" I can blame on the sleeve is my blood pressure is so great not pregnant that the medicine they put me on to stop contractions (which is an older BP med) has made my blood pressure ridiculously low, so I have to be very careful.

    Quick Question

33 weeks in today and I lost 13lbs in the beginning due to Hyperemesis (severe morning sickness). I have gained back 8 of those lbs. so still 5lbs down. I'm definitely ALL belly. ETA: I'm 4'11- the shirt is a size small, skirt is an XS.

    What do you eat?

If you are still obese you technically do want to maintain your weight rather than gain, if overweight I think they recommend a 10-15lb weight gain. Those recommendations are the same surgery or not. I will say- I have only gained 7lbs at 30weeks. I was at the top end of normal weight so my doc wanted me to gain no more than 25lbs. If I keep gaining a pound per week- I should wind up around 15-17lbs gained. I'm perfectly ok with that. (I did lose 13 from Hyperemesis so my net gain may be 5-10lbs)

    What do you eat?

I have two previous kiddos from before surgery. I was lucky and had easy pregnancies and labors with my two previous. I honestly think it is just "luck of the draw".

    What do you eat?

Honestly- I was so sick for so long (I had/have hyperemesis) that I was told by my surgeon AND OB to eat whatever stayed down. To try to focus on protein first, but eat whatever would stay down. For me- this was a battle as one day ___ would stay down and the next day it wouldn't. Baby is growing right on track and is a little above average (he's measuring about a week ahead). My vitamin levels have been great- my iron did dip a little, but it is barely under normal.

    how much weight gain?

I'm 15 months out and 28 weeks pregnant. I was 10-15lbs from goal when I got pregnant. I was "blessed" with hyperemesis (severe morning sickness) and lost 13lbs from week 5-16. At week 28- I have gained 5 back.

    Can't gain weight

I'm with you! I'm 28 weeks tomorrow. I had horrible morning sickness (I was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum). I lost 13lbs during my first trimester and first part of my second. I was 150 (135 was my goal) when I got pregnant and bottomed out at 137. As of this morning I am at 142. My doctor isn't concerned since I am within normal weight range and not underweight and baby is growing beautifully. I'm definitely all belly though.

    Awesome!! you got this!

    Hi risk pregnancy!

Congrats on baby . I know we had surgery right around the same time. I'm 22 weeks preggo today. So- I got pregnant 10 months post-op. Whoops. Other than having severe morning sickness (hyperemesis gravidarum) which I had never had with my other two midgets- my pregnancy has been status quo. My doc asked me to eat as close to 2000 calories as possible and I'm there most days. I have lost 12lbs thanks to puking most everything I've eaten for 13 weeks, but I've been much better the last month. Ask your doc about the new blood tests rather than an amnio- there are 4-5 on the market that will be able to tell you with 99% accuracy if there are any chromosomal abnormalities (I had to do it after a soft marker was seen at my anatomy scan). The plus to getting it earlier (they can do it as early as 10 weeks) is you find out the sex- if you want of course. Ok- I'm done rambling now . Sorry! Congrats on baby again!!!
  20. I was sleeved the same day 11/13/12. I was down to 145 (size 8ish- I'm 4'11) when I got my BFP in Sept. I too have lost weight since getting preggo (13lbs for me). Baby is growing completely on track and I too haven't gained much weight with my previous two pregnancies. I'm due may 20th and at the 20 week scan baby is perfectly healthy and actually showing almost a week ahead in measurements and my belly sure hasn't stayed little.
  21. Has anyone been able to breast feed post surgery? I was sleeved 10 months ago and just found out this morning that I am pregnant. According to my LMP- I am 4 weeks along. I breastfed my other two exclusively and I would love to be able to do the same with this nugget. Has anyone had success post-op?

Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!

I didn't have it with my other two kiddos, so I guess the odds weren't in my favor to escape it three times.

Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!

Thanks to morning sickness I hit my Doc's goal for me this morning 10lbs to my goal (of 135). I'm sure I won't see it for the next year ish, but I'm so happy with where I am
