    Cool iPad App

I recently found an iPad app called "See Me Get Fit" (not sure if it is also available for iPhone). Basically, you enter your weight then you take a picture so that you can visually track your weight loss. Perhaps best of all, you can password protect the app so that only you can access it. I'm really looking forward to seeing my progress on it and I thought it was cool enough to share.

    Any BBM users?

You might try using the website instead: myfitnesspal.com
  4. Congrats! Thanks for sharing your story and pics--very inspirational.
  5. I'm not sure what you're mixing your protein powder with, but are you including that liquid in your 64 oz? It is my understanding that we should aim for 64 oz of liquid and protein drinks count. It is also my understanding that it is hard to reach the 64 oz in the first few days after surgery, but it gets easier as the swelling in your sleeve goes down.
  6. It is a dream...come true! I wish you a speedy recovery and much success! I look forward to reading about your fantastic progress along the way (and will join in soon--save a spot on the losers' bench for me!).
  7. Don't be discouraged! By my count, this still means that you have lost 33 pounds in 3 weeks--that is amazing! You should not go back on liquids, as that might send your body into starvation mode and make your weight loss slow down even more. If you have not read this info about stalls yet, you absolutely should; it explains a lot: http://www.dsfacts.com/weight-loss-stall-or-plateau.html PS. I am still pre-op, but I have been reading and researching this site pretty obsessively for over a month and sharing some of the advice that I have seen repeatedly from the veterans.

Christmas help- you know you want to!

OP, you have probably already sorted this out, but in case you're still looking, Sephora sells a gift set of 10 perfume miniatures that comes included with a certificate good for a full-size bottle of whichever fragrance from it that she likes best: http://www.sephora.com/collector-s-edition-fragrance-sampler-for-her-P299440?skuId=1369479
  9. You look fantastic! Wishing you continued success!
  10. I'm not sure how far you live from the Y, but have you considered going before work? My Y opens at 5:30am and I have always loved an early morning workout because it gives me energy for the day and also because I'm not already exhausted from my day, so I'm less likely to make excuses to get out of it.

    January 2013 Sleevers?

I'm going on the 16th, surgery on the 17th, so it looks like we'll just miss each other. Best of luck to you!

    200 Pounds Gone!

You look amazing. Thank you for this great inspiration. Your video made me cry and it also gives me so much hope. In truth, I'm still crying a little and I can't find all of the words I want to say to tell you just how much your story impacted me, so I will just say thank you again.
  14. Fantastic! Thanks for sharing.
  15. I do know what you mean, which is why I can only commit to doing the Protein shake for breakfast right now--that, and the holidays. Maybe you could try it just for one meal, like me? Also, I don't know if it matters, but I generally reserve lunch for food funerals and try to have a sensible dinner with the thinking that it's better to be active after eating crap.
  16. Have you considered starting the liquid diet early? If you really feel out of control and worried about losing before surgery, it's certainly an option. Also, try to keep in mind that the surgery doesn't mean that you'll never be able to eat what you like again, just less (although there are certain things that I plan to try to never/hardly ever eat again for my health and you may feel the same). My surgery is one month from today and I have had some food funerals, but I really do limit myself to only doing it once a day, if at all, and I'm also having a protein shake for breakfast to offset any bad eating that I might do later in the day. This seems to be working. I had gained a few pounds from the food funerals before I set the once a day limit and started the protein shake for breakfast, but I actually lost 4 pounds the last time I stepped on the scale. Best of luck to you!
  17. It has been my experience that I do have to relaunch in portrait mode every time I want to use the app, so I actually just visit the website itself through the browser on my iPad rather than dealing with the app for now.

    January 2013 Sleevers?

    One month to go!
  20. Praying for you to have a smooth surgery, a speedy recovery, and much success!
  21. I will be sleeved one month from today!

  22. I'm getting sleeved next month and I'm going back to school/work less than a week afterwards. I'm not too worried about fatigue because I only have to be there an hour most days then I can come home and rest if I need to. I am, however, wondering about being able to wear normal (button/zip up) pants. I have read so much advice about wearing stretchy pants to and from the hospital so as not to bother the incision sites, but I'm not sure how long I should wear stretchy pants. I don't have a clear concept of where the incision sites will be yet, but I am wondering if I will need to invest in some stretchy pants for work because I don't really own anything like that or if I should be fine buttoning or zipping up some pants within 4 days or so after surgery? Thanks.

    presciption drugs post surgery

I'm still pre-op, so I don't know the answer, but I am wondering if it could also be that you have lost so much weight that the dosage is just more potent for your new weight. I also just want to see what others say because I may have a similar situation post-op.
