Here is a link to the best info I've seen about stalls: http://www.dsfacts.com/weight-loss-stall-or-plateau.html

What is your essential cooking tool?

Happy birthday! I really like my immersion blender--easier cleanup than a full blender.

    In need of some support.

I am very sorry for your loss. I lost my father 13 years ago and we were very close. I cannot say that the pain goes away, but it does lessen and become easier to cope over time. Through diet and exercise, I was at my healthiest adult weight at his funeral, but emotional eating afterwards undid all of that. I lost my dad due to his morbid obesity and I have promised myself that I do not want to go down the same path and he wouldn't want it for me either. I sincerely hope that you can find the strength through your pain to continue to make healthy food choices and get back to your exercise regimen, so that you can achieve what you set out to achieve when you were sleeved 9 weeks ago. Best of luck to you.

  11. In order to have the body weight ticker show BMI, edit your ticker then click on 4. Properties. The box at the top, "Show Header Data" must be ticked. After you save this, your BMI should show.
  12. My surgery is 2 days after yours. I went shopping for my pre-op diet yesterday and I bought protein shakes, no sugar added clear juices, and broths mostly. I also bought some things for after surgery like liquid Tylenol, Gas-X strips, Powerade Zero, and Listerine breath strips (for ketosis breath), but I didn't want to stock up on too many food and drinks for after surgery just in case I can't tolerate them once my taste buds change.

    Scared of...

There are other threads with lists of wishes and dreams and I listed those long before I listed my fears. Surgery is just a little over 3 weeks away for me and these are my fears, but none of them are going to stop me from making this very important life change.

    Scared of...

Things I’m worried about (in no particular order): · complications or leaks · becoming insane with mood swings · bad acne (ah, hormones) · not being able to get enough liquids in to the point of dehydration · sliming · sex drive not improving (it is currently low because I feel so awful about myself) · hair loss · not being able to find foods that I enjoy due to changed taste buds

    I Want to Shop!

My surgery is a little over a month away, but I have found myself fighting the urge to shop for new clothes for weeks now. I promised myself that I wouldn't buy any more clothes at my current size (except for a few items for comfort that I think I'll need immediately after surgery), but now I find myself wanting to buy skinny clothes. The problem is, I have no idea what size to even buy, so my common sense tells me to just wait until I have the joy of celebrating new sizes with the treat of shopping. The only problem now is that I made the mistake of looking at a sale on Hautelook and now I really want a few items. For those who are unfamiliar with Hautelook, it is a sample sale site that sells a variety of items (not just clothes) from a variety of brands at a super discount--the catch is that the sales last only for 2 days and that's it--it's not likely that you'll ever find those items again and especially at those prices. So, should I buy these 2-3 items now in anticipation of the new me or should I just try to forget about them and remind myself there will be other cute clothes down the line? If I do buy, should I buy a 12/14, which is the smallest I've ever been in my adult life or an 8/10, which might be a better look for some of these items and is sort of my goal (I'll accept smaller as my ultimate weight loss for sure, but would be happy winding up at an 8/10)?

    My Ongoing Story :)

Glad to hear you are doing well! Wishing you a speedy recovery and much success!
  19. You can do it! I will be starting the liquid diet in less than 2 weeks and I'm a little nervous about it, but keeping my eyes on the prize :-)
  20. Less than 4 weeks now...

  21. My surgery is Jan. 17 and I'm excited and impatient. Four weeks to go and it cannot get here fast enough! Good luck to all of my fellow Jan. sleevers!

    Crazy pre-surgery dreams

I'm having surgery in MX 4 weeks from today. I, too, have been having vivid, crazy dreams, but so far, no one is naked

    No weight goal

I'm still pre-op, but I set my weight goal for a healthy BMI because, to me, it doesn't make sense to do this and still be overweight or obese. I have seen so many people on here accomplish such great weight loss and I am definitely dedicated to doing the necessary work to get there, so I don't think that having a goal weight will make losing any more difficult, just more rewarding.
