    Fit Bit Ultra

I think the differences that the fitbit is a pedometer so it measures steps taken and the Polar is a heart monitor... The difference in calories burned according to them is that if you walk the same amount of steps at a higher intensity level so your heart rate raises you actually burn more calories than if you walk them at a lower intensity even though its the same amount... The fitbit will tell you you burned this amount because you walked this amount of steps but won't take into account if you ran those steps and raised your heart rate.. The polar does take it into account because its a heart rate monitor... When you raise your heart rate you burn more calories that must be why they say different things with the same workout...

    popcorn

I wasn't told not to eat popcorn but I'm sure I had to wait till I was around a month out and was eating normal food but I honestly can't remember when I ate popcorn for the first time.. I'm 3 and half months out and I think I've had popcorn twice probably but yeah be careful because it is a slider specially be careful if u plan on eating it while watching a movie or something cause that mindless eating is the worst and u can down a whole bag without thinking while being focused on something else... For me at least and other ppl I've heard it's a slider it doesn't fill you up so u can eat a lot without even noticing...

    Disney & My Sleeve

Went to Disney jan 7.. 3 days before my 2 months from being sleeved and did fine finding healthy food to eat... Of course I'm lucky and everything goes down fine and I have no problem with anything I eat making me sick or staying down and since it was around the holidays I wasn't following a crazy diet just eating healthy... I definitely shared food with my family and I don't really measure I just eat what I can which isn't much... I ate in Japan at Epcot center which was good and healthy, and somewhere in tomorrowland in magic kingdom and though I thought it would be all burgers and stuff they actually have roasted chicken with healthy sides so it was good ( I think that's new but then again I never actually looked for healthy food at Disney world before so they may possibly have had that since forever and I chose not to see it)... Then at Hollywood studios we had lunch at an Italian restaurant and I don't remember what I ate but it was healthy so I don't think you would need to take your own food unless your are following a very strict diet... Anyway I'm sure you can find the menus online and plan what to eat before u go...

    Who did you tell?

Sometimes I wish I hadn't told so many ppl because some things annoy me like people only talking to me about it or saying things like "you've never been so thin before in your life" which isn't true.. I have been thinner I was thinner 2 years ago so it's not like impossible to remember so I kinda feel ppl feel forced to say something when I actually wished they didn't... My friends and family have been really supportive so I'm fine with ppl knowing i wanted to be honest with them but my mom and dad seem to have told everyone they know so I get random ppl I don't really know asking how I'm feel and how much I've lost and stuff when I don't even know their names... Also something that makes me wish ppl didn't know is the fact that in the past as soon as ppl started noticing weight loss and saying things something would change in my mind and I would soon break the diet or whatever and stop losing so ppl saying something just because they know makes me feel like that's gonna happen again... Anyway I wouldn't have done it without my family's support much less without them knowing, that would mean having to lie to them forever and I wouldn't be able to manage that...(no offense to ppl who decided not to tell theirs families but I'm my case I would never be able to pull that off)... My family has been really supportive and understanding and its nothin weird since my aunt had gastric bypass years ago and 2 of my cousins had their sleeves last year too also my dad is a doctor so he's pretty open to this kind of thing...
  5. I took my pillow and mi iPad.. I was at the hospital for 2 days... I did use my iPad i was really bored Since i suffer from insomnia so I had a lot of time to do nothing but focus on the discomfort and my dad snoring hehe... I wasn't in much pain thank god but the put so much liquid through my veins that I went up to pee like every hour so yeah I did use my iPad to pass the time... I also walked A LOT which helped with the gas... I went for walks like every few hours the nurses said they had never seen anyone walk so much while at the hospital but it was the best thing I did... But yeah you never know how u are going to feel so I do recommend u take something to read or anything that makes you feel better...
  6. There's a bunch of studios in lots of states... It's circuit training and it works with your heart rate... I've been doing it for a month and I have to say its a tough workout but I honestly love it and recommend it... I've never said that before about any workout in my life but I honestly love it It can be as tough as you want as everyone can push as far as they feel they want to or can take but you don't have to go at the same pace as the rest.. I think most studios have the first class for free so if there's one close to you try it... They have monitors showing your heart rate so you know on what zone you are and how much more you want to push and the "orange theory" is that if you stay on the orange zone for 12 to 20 mins you go into after burn and keep burning calories for 36 hours.. I always burn around 600 calories per class but I've seen ppl specially guys burn more than 1000 in one hour Oh and tha orange zone is the hard zone but the good thing about being new to this and not extremely fit is that is actually easier to get there since we get tired and our heart rates raise so easily... Has anyone else tried it???
  7. Thanks!!!! Really eye opening to see those pics yesterday! I honestly had no idea I looked like that!! Now I'm starting to look like myself again... I gained like 40 pounds I'm the last year and a half before my surgery and was about where I am now before for about another year... I still need to loose like 40+ more pounds but I really see a big difference from where I was a few months ago to where I am now!
  8. Hey ppl!! I just wanted to share my before and during pics with all of you... I hadn't seen my old pics in a while and wow did I look bad back then... So started this whole process at 233 pounds (my highest ever) and was around 215 by my surgery date... I've been loosing slowly since the second week and the scale hasn't moved a lot in a few weeks which is somewhat discouraging but seeing this I get that I'm still loosing inches even though the scale shows almost no weight loss for a month now... I weigh around 189 and I'm 2 months out... I admit I haven't really dieted lately cause of the holidays but I have been more conscious about what I eat and of course my portions are very small... I struggle with getting all my Protein in and also with learning when to stop eating so almost every meal I get this full, really uncomfortable feeling but well I'm still learning... But oh well... Here are my pics (or at least I hope they got attached) ... The first 3 are from a few months ago when I was at my heaviest (holy horrible pics) then there's one with my friends around a week before surgery and the last are all from last week at home and from my trip to disneyworld last week...
  9. Wow my surgeon left me on water and tea for 5 days the full liquids until the end of week 3... Now im on soft foods but i have eaten things that are not that soft and everything goes down fine.. Kind of worry about the size of my sleeve too!!! But yeah 2 weeks out i was on full liquids

    11 weeks out

Ugh im 4 weeks out and getting tired of ppl asking me how do you feel or how much have you lost before saying hi... I told a few ppl but my dad made sure everyone found out... My dr told me he would prefer if only a few ppl knew because they are gonna keep asking me that forever!! He told me he had been really sick years ago ans ppl still ask him how he's feeling even though years have gone by.. My dad's bday was 2 weeks ago and about 30 ppl i barely know and some ive never met before greeted me by asking questions like how much i've lost... Im regretting ppl knowing... Also ppl who kniw tend to feel like they have to say something so i have friends go up to me and say ohhhh you look so much better... Ive been living out of the country for a year ppl last time you saw me i weighed less than i do now!!!
  11. Wow u ate that 2 weeks out??? I was on full liquids for 3 full weeks...
  12. After surgery you are awaken as soon as its over.. The bring you out of the anesthesia to know everything is ok... Some ppl dont remember it, some go back to sleep and wake up hours later but you are brought out of anesthesia and woken up as soon as they are done... I remember still being in the or when i woke up and i felt so cold that i didnt go back to sleep again.. Ppl react different so some ppl start talking right away, others want to sleep, others want to throw up.. There's no telling how you will react till u are out of it... I just kept asking when the shaking would stop and remember being really unconfortable... Ppl are left in recovery for like 2 hours after surgery.. I wasnt, my dad is a dr and he was there and for some reason they just brought me up to my room like half an hour after surgery...

    Drinking alcohol after VSG

I'm 4 weeks out today and last monday i was talking to my surgeon and asked him and said that i actually could have a drink if i wanted to but the rememeber that alcohol is just empty calories so to be carefull and to also remember that i might get drunk faster now but he said that i actually can do it... Im not a big drinker but thursday i went to visit a friend and she was drinking wine so i had a bit and it was fine but i drank less than 2 ounces.. Yerterday at a party this guy insisted on getting me a drink so i got a vodka and orange juice and had like 2 sips and left it there, i just got it so that he would stop bugging me about not drinking...anyway i had like 2 sips and didnt really want anymore and got really sleepy after that..
