    sweets0211 got a reaction from M@E in Increased water+protein= 11pound this week!
I am 4 years out from my surgery in Dec 2012. On Dec 29th, 2016 I got on the scale and noticed my weight was slowly climbing. I was back up to 172.6 pounds. My average weight is 155 pounds. I increased my Protein to 120 grams( I have yet to meet this daily goal, but I'm close) and I'm drinking at least 100oz of Water. I weighed myself this morning and I'm down to 161.2 pounds in just 5 days!!! I am back to weighing my meats and not drinking juices. I feel so much better going back to the basics. I'm going to start seriously exercising/weight lifting in the morning again (haven't done this in over a year). My goal is to break my plateau of 155 pounds and get down to my initial goal weight of 140 pounds. Good luck and God Bless to everyone. WE CAN DO THIS!

Over a period of two weeks I upped my Protein to 100g and increased the Water, I lost 6 lbs in about 10 days and I had stalled for over a month. I found a Protein Drink at The Vitamin Shoppe by ABB called Pure Pro50 and Lean Body (40). I force myself to get one of those down a day and the rest is from food. Additionally, I have been taking this herb called Moringa mixed with apple juice that is FULL OF NUTRITION you can find it on Amazon. My nails are beginning to grow and get harder and my Hair loss is not falling out as much and most importantly I am not dragging (*ss) as much as I was - I had no energy.

Ok so I just finished my second day of following your recommendations (120 oz H2o & 100+ gms protein) and I am down 3 lbs! I have also all but cut out carbs. I am going to keep with this trend, I think there's something to it. Thank you so much!

It is depressing to gain from your lowest weight, but try to remember how far you've come and looking at your stats, you're still below your original goal weight. It's all relative I guess. I mean, I weigh 145 as of this morning, and 150 was my goal, so as long as I stay under that I'm happy! I pushed up close to it this last spring, but I fought to lose that 5!
I'm only 2 years, 4 months out, so not quite 3. I do notice year 3 is hardest as far as regain, so you're not alone. You also have enough insight to know you don't want to continue to gain. Just go back to what worked before....lots of Protein, lots of veggies, lots of Water and low/no calorie fluids. I cook up boneless skinless chicken breast the way I like it prepared, and keep it in the fridge when I feel like I want to snack. It helps me feel full and satisfied, even if I just pop a couple of bites in my mouth. Also, look into intermittent fasting, or 5:2 (you can google it). That's what helped me get the regain off.
I'm currently detoxing off of white bread and sugar after Christmas. It's a bitch, especially the bread. But I know once I get over that 2 or 3 day hump, it's clear sailing again without the cravings. You can do it!

I perfer to get my Protein from food because I feel hungry every couple hours. I am totally bummed my hunger hasn't gone away like many others that have had this surgery. I do have a shake almost every morning when im working and dont have time to make Breakfast. If I have a lower protien day I add another shake before bed. I intake 90 to 120 grams of protein daily.

I have had a rough time making the numbers I wanted after surgery. During the all liquids phase I did excellent with my weightloss but it slowed drasticly after I started foods again. I had trouble making it to 64 ounces of Water and meeting the protien recomendations. a little overa week ago I was desperate when I gained 4 lbs in my fourth month so I decided to consume 120+ ounces of water and go over my daily recomended Protein requirments. I lost 11lbs this week!!! I was really affraid I wouldn't lose any more weight but my hope is renewed =) Just wanted to share and encourage anyone who isn't drinking enough water or getting enough protein!

We are all here to share our opinions and you know what they say abut opinions. Bottom line is do what works for YOU and YOUR life. You shouldn't feel pressured to give anyone and explanation about your life. There is a negative stigma with WLS and I'm sure none of us woke up and said let me get my stomach chopped up. We thought long and hard about it and who wants the negativity. You will find more negative comments that supportive ones out there because everyone is not educated about WLS. At the end of the day do what makes you happy and comfortable.

I'm new to the forum thing n support system app, but I love the different opinions n ideas, u are all so passionate. I did my surgery five mths ago and I told my coworkers I had ulcer stomach surgery. People are too judgemental in my country about things like WLS. I told 2 coworker/friends n everytime something happens, it's the surgery. My weight loss is due to starvation, that's my story because our portion size huge so my new tiny portion appears to others as starvation. Wrong maybe! But I'm just trying to survive. WLS has been such an emotional journey for me I don't need the added

I also hate when people imply that we are somehow ashamed or embarrassed about surgery because we don't shout it out to the world or tell everyone who ask. I wonder how many people have considered the fact that they themselves might not be open to sharing other parts of their lives. For example: the number of people they've slept with, how much money they make, how much they spend shopping, how much debt, financial/marital issues, etc. You may be open about your surgery but do you feel comfortable sharing other aspects of your life that may be intrusive to your privacy? I am not ashamed of my surgery and it's been one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life but it's not my job to divulge every aspect of my life. I do not owe anyone an explanation and I highly doubt that anyone in life could ever claim to be "truthful" 100% of the time. If you want to tell everyone who ask, then do so but stop trying to shame others into doing things the way YOU would.

What makes you think that people who keep their private lives private are embarrassed or ashamed? Did the thought ever occur to you for one second that sometimes people just don't need to share every last detail of their life with the whole world? Be it ANY medical or other personal aspect of their lives. it's as simple as privacy
I would suggest before you start labeling and name calling you think about your words.
    How irresponsible can you be?

^^^ Majority of my friends are a healthy weight. I'm the fattest in the group and I don't feel like I owe it to them to be open and honest, heck they don't need the surgery. Other people that have noticed my weight loss are also at a healthy weight. It's not a lie to say that you are watching what you eat because most of us are. I'm in Colorado which is known as the healthiest state. There aren't too many heavy people around here. If an obese person asked me what I did I would tell them that I had surgery but the timing has to be right. I do have a friend who probably weighs about 350 pounds but I haven't mentioned to her that I've had surgery, heck I've only known her since March. She doesn't talk about weight or dieting and I don't want her to feel as if I'm judging her. Who knows, she may turn out to be one of those people dead set against surgery and here I just wasted my breath. Like I said earlier people aren't entitled to know everything that goes on in your/my life. If you want to be an open book, then so be it but that doesn't work for everyone. My business is mine and this reminds me of why I got rid of Facebook months ago because it was way too open and I didn't want everyone to know everything about me or what I'm doing. These people that come in and out of my life aren't entitled to know everything about me. They don't pay my bills or have any sort of bearing on my life, so it's up to me whether or not I share with them anything personal about myself. I never understood why people make such a huge deal about people wanting to keep it private. To each their own.

I created a cover at work..bringing my Protein shakes during pre op to work and refusing to indulge in take out. Working out daily which i was semi vocal about. All things that are true. I wore the same clothes from before and yesterday i wore something more fitting and was complimented on how i looked. At the same time those same people whispered and acted weird about my healthier choices. This process is hard as it is but I couldnt bear people watching my every bite and using my surgery as an adjective to describe me!
A healthy lifestyle is my cover and it is working beautifully!

There was one person who specifically asked what I was doing. I told them, restraint and exercise. Both true. I also had a hernia repair so if they push that is what I will say. I was also on our WW at Work program. So some have asked if I was still doing WW.
I have been in the face of ridicule long enough. I'm not going to add to it with people who really don't mean me well.
I say do what is best for you.
