Hello everyone, I just got told today my duodenal switch surgery is April 5th. I finally got my surgery date. It may be a while. But it will be here before I know it. My high Protein low carb diet starts March 22nd. Can't wait to get started. Can't wait to get to know all of you.

Revision? Did you have the sleeve prior?

  2. I too was sleeved but 9yrs ago. I have major Gerd to the point it makes me throw up. I just found out I have a small hiatal hernia. I went for a consult and the surgeon suggested revision to bypass. I lost 100 pounds after being sleeved but have gained about 70 which sucks. How much did you lose and regain? I hope to fix my Gerd but also lose at least 50. I heard it would be a slower processes since I’m still limited when eating.

  3. No surgery I'm only 6 months out I'm 5'7 and half but now I'm thinking more like 5'8 since the weightloss my starting weight 299 now today 104 I hit 100 pounds at 5 months I kept thinking I'm a month a head when I just turned 6 months on the 21st of this month

Funny I was told by the coordinator when I started this journey that I was 5'8...I've never been told that so I'm sure to saying 5'7...I'm 15 weeks out going on 16(4months) on Monday..I've only lost 51 pounds. I don't think I would hit 100 like you on my 5th month..I haven't really put in much work in the gym and I also drink alcohol twice a week. I'm sure that's a factor in my weight loss.

  4. How much and how often are you guys drinking? I'm

9 weeks out and I'm drinking pretty often' date=' but not a lot each time 1-2 drinks. How did drinking affect your weight loss.[/quote']

I drink like 3 days out the week but like 2-4 drinks. It hasn't affected my weight that I'm aware of..I'm 14 weeks out 48 pounds lighter. I'm not sure if I should be losing more. My doctor says I'm right on track

  5. I too haven't stopped drinking. I stopped a few days before surgery and started drinking again 12 days later and I'm perfectly fine. I have a busy social life...my doctor gave me the ok to drink when I went to remove my stitches 9 days later..but yes everyone's body is different

  6. Anyone bold enough to admit that they drink a lot? I asked my coordinator when I could drink and he said wait about 6 months. 9 days after surgery I went to remove my stitches and I asked my doctor when i could drink and he said when ever I want just to drink slowly. Well that was enough for me! I began drinking 12 days later and have not stopped ever since. I probably drink 3 times a week. I'm 3 months out and I've lost 45 pounds. Could it be that I haven't lost more because I drink so much? I honestly believe it is hard for me not to drink. My social life consist of drinks drinks drinks

  7. I've actually been concerned that I haven't lost much weight. Started at 271 n now I'm 226..I don't see much of a difference until yesterday. I shopped at American eagle for the 1st time ever! I got a dress size L and a denim vest size XL..I felt great to shop there since i was never able to before surgery.

  8. Pic of me before surgery for and then a month ago during my wedding festivities...(@around 188)

    HW: 294

    CW: 185

    GW:170

Let me tell you how you are my number one motivator...I've seen the pictures you've posted before and I see myself in you..I'm 5'8 was 271 before surgery..day of surgery 260 and now 11 weeks out I'm 228...my goal weight is 180-170..I feel that this is it for me..I feel like the scale won't go down anymore...I hope to have great results like you..

  9. Everyone is different so try not to measure yourself with other peoples successes or losses. You have done a great job and have lost a LOT of weight. Your body will need time to adjust because soon it will wonder what in the world is going on. Dont be surprised or discouraged because you will begin losing again! Keep up the great work and be patient. It wont be long till you look in the mirror and see a new you!

Thank you for the kind words. I guess I try and compare myself to those who I've read that lost 70 pounds and only 3 months out

  10. I was sleeved on April 29th' date=' and have lost 35 lbs. Id say your about on track. I had a stall and did not loose a lb week 3-6. I picked up again on week 7 and have lost 9 lbs in the past week. Cals under 800 per day, and exercising 4 times a week. I say your doing about average. It is hard to see the people on here loosing a pound a day still, and not compare yourself. My guess is your not having much trouble with foods, not throwing up alot, and having an easy time (except anxiety over not loosing weight).[/quote']

I actually do not in take much calories. I get nauseous so I stop..I would probably say I take it about 400 cal a day. I work out for a week my hen stop because I have no energy. I too had a stall from week 3-6...

  11. I am officially 6 months post op tomorrow and i am down 71 pounds.

    Starting weight: 256

    Current weight: 185

Goal weight: 140-150 (depending on how i look at 150)

I said i wanted to get into a bikini by 6 months.. and honey I did. Didn't say I would wear it... just wanted to get into it! At a terrible stall however. I've not recorded a lost in an entire month. I'm working out every single day (even see my abs starting to form) and the scale just won't move. At first I thought it was Water weight. Now I just have no clue! Anyone have any suggestions on how to jumpstart this weight loss again?!?!? If not' date=' I'm going to have to try the pouch test.[/quote']

Wow u look great! Do you have any before pictures?

  12. Hi all! I had surgery on feb 12. Down 40 lbs. and 4 dress sizes! I am a slow loser and have been theough countless stalls but sooo happy with the results. Keep hanging in there!!

Wow you look great for just losing 40 pounds. What was your starting weight day of surgery? How tall are you? I'm 10 weeks out and have lost 41 but 11 were pre op.. 30 have been after surgery and I'm 5'8..started 271..day of surgery 260..today I'm 230...but I look nothing like you do lol you look great

  13. I was sleeved 4/16 and have lost 43 pounds (that includes a week prior on diet so ten weeks). I haven't lost a thing in 2 weeks though. Boo

I was sleeved 04/08 and hadn't seen the scale move in 2-3 weeks till this week I lost another 3 pounds. I've read may people say they go on a stall. It was stressful not losing anything for 2-3 weeks tho
