I tired my hardest to be good during mine, but then again my doctor was very very strict if I didnt loose 10% of my weight before surgery they would not do it.. so I was on my P's and Q;s so to say... plus who wants a fat liver during surgery that could cause serious complications if they accidently injure it..... I say stick to the diet as much as possible its for your benifit and health that they require it .. the month before surgery and after surgery were the hardest but worth every single minute of it.
(Note that I did on occasion put somehting in my mouth chew it up and spit it out but I dont consider that cheating since I didnt swallow it ... lol )
November 6th marks my two month post opt and I am already 58 lbs down.... :tongue2:

Why are you not able to get in all of your Protein? Are you still having one shake a day? I have one shake a day at 31 grams and it more than helps me get in 80 grams of protein. Make sure you are eating high protein foods: chicken, fish, yogurt.

during the first few months your stomach is still healing, there is allot of sweeling and untill you get to soft and solid food you won't feel much restriction. the dencer protien of the item the more restriciton. note I can polish off a whole 5 oz container of yogurt no problem but can only eat 2 oz of chicken and am super full.... I am going on my 8 week mark and my stomach still rumbles with certain food and when I add new items to my diet.

I didnt gain weight but I did have what I call a food funeral, I chose one thing a day and tried to control eating just one serving of it..... all my favorite foods...... but the weird thing is that now being a month and a half out what I miss the most is vegtables/ salad and fruit..... I eat very little of it cause I mostly eat protien....

I think its head hunger not real hunger. I had the same thing really wanted some food after surgery but I really was not hungry. once you get to have full liquids and soft foods its allot better and that feeling goes away. stay strong and hang in there . the first month is the worst

I was sleeved Sept 6th, different foods I can eat more of especially softer type foods. I would make sure that I was getting enough protien in first before eating anything else. A typical day for me is
    RTD shake for Breakfast
chicken noodle Soup for lunch w/o the noodle or chili or refired Beans
maybe a snack of cheese stick / or a prune / or grapes
2 oz of some type of meat for dinner and maybe a tblspoon of vegtables or sweet potatoe
this comes out to about 70 protien under 30 carbs and about 700 calories
also I bought these little 1/2 cup containers, so it really helps with Portion Control, fill the cup and never eat more than that if you can even eat that much. I also eat with a baby spoon and it really really helps .makes it seem like your eating allot more than you are and slows you down.

I just thought I'd share a new find. I used Blue Diamond Non Sweetened Coconut Almond milk with 2 scoops of Protein Powder, and it tasted just like an Almond Joy!! First shake I've been able to finish post-op. During my liquid diet, my favorite was Peanut Butter, banana and chocolate. Now, the just the thought makes me gag. But not this one!!
