I am so a dog person too. I grew up with labs and a retriever so I know how playful and loving labs are. I had a roommate that had (over the course of my living there) 3 cats. One was named Bandit. He sounds like your cat Hunter, he loved nothing more than to scratch people. Though he never got me...thank God!
Bandit (not sure if Hunter is this way) didn't want to be held. He was more independent. The only time he ever tried to cuddle was the day I moved out. I guess he knew we wouldn't see each other again for a while.

OMG! I'm going to have to warn my hubby. We have 2 cats and the girl loves to use the scratch box. She also loves to jump up into bed and cuddle between the 2 of us. Now I'm going to sleep with one eye open!
Great story, and you're so lucky to have had the chance to have bear. Like I said, we have 2 cats (I was not a cat person when I got married, but the hubby was) and I want to get a dog. We're just afraid our girl cat (Lucy....yep, she's a redhead....flamepoint hymilaian) might try to eat them. She wasn't all that accepting of our little boy (Tigger) when we brought him home, so he had to sleep in a carrier until he was big enough to fight back.
    Hope your hubby heals quickly.

Thanks for sharing Juny, I'm going for a consult with the heart doctor (they wouldn't just schedule the treadmill stress test) and said I might get to do it the same day if they had availability. Glad it's nothing to crazy!

If your lunch time workouts were exceeding your allowed lunch period is there any way you could start work 15 minutes earlier & stay 15 minutes later to make up for it? I hate to see you give up your swimming.

To date, you've lost 39.2 lbs. I congratulate you on the excellent numbers depicted in your post. Basically, you've lost almost 40 lbs in two months - WOW! That's awesome!
Try to celebrate each day, because we are not promised the next! Your journey is just that...your journey. Your competitiveness is wonderful, but the worst opponent can be oneself.
I'm only a nine days post-op and your weight loss to date is super encouraging to me!
I hope it continues to encourage you too!
WLS is an personal choice. Your friends and family make choices that they do not share with you, and they shouldn't - because those are their choices. You are entitled to the same.
Keep doing what is best for you and the rest will soon follow.

You love water polo. You're good at it. From what I've read of your writing, it's always seemed like a very good thing in your life.
Sometimes adversity happens all at once, and that's the time for faith. It's also the time for looking inside yourself and asking, "Well, what do I think, believe, know?" Then trust yourself. Boundaries are great, necessary things. Good fences make good neighbors, right? You can do this thing, and your life won't always have so many naysayers; it's just a run, and will wear out. Good luck to you. I am confident you are 100% where you are supposed to be.

You have done a very good job and don't worry about other people's comments. I had a friend who lost over 100 lbs with RnY. She recieved such negative comments (masked in "compliments") during her journey. She ended up deciding not to tell most people that she even had surgery. It was hard for her to deal with the negativity of people who she felt should have been happy/proud of her.
She eventually surpassed goal and now many of those same people are looking to her for support through their journey. She is a kind person so she offers support, but boy, they put her through it. In the long run you know what you're doing for yourself is important so stay your course and try your best to shake off the foolishness of those who treat you bad.

As someone who has battled my weight issues ALL my life, has other medical complications (I have PCOS), and has had serious interpersonal relationship problems because of insecurity, weight issues, etc. I can say this surgery saved my life. My only regret was not getting it sooner. A lot of the people who I see being negative the first few months post surgery are people who have not dealt with their relationship battles wtih food. THey weren't ready to say good bye- I however am totally okay with only getting one bite of something and being done. I have no more self loathing about over eating and ordering everything off a menu and still being hungry. It's all gone now. My head and self esteem are in a much better place. I also had a workout plan in place, I swim 5 days a week. I'm not dealing with any stalls because I've had a plan of action from get go. I don't weigh myself with my fingers crossed that the scale might go down- my scale ALWAYS goes down if only a little it's almost always moving because I workout 5 days a week. I paid out of pocket for this surgery, I sacrified a lot being a single mom paying $9000 out of pocket. I owe this to me and my child to give it everything I got now. So while there are some not so pleasant moments post surgery- I'm thankful everyday that I got it, and everyday I'm a happier and healthier person for it. I know once I get into my goal weight areas, I will have a lot more personal growing to do, to get comfortable in my body and learning how to maintain. But to know this permanent and not some fad diet, I'm so happy to hit the restart button in my life.
