  1. Poodle Dog is the restaurant/bar in Fife.

I think there is a sleeve support group that meets there the second or third tuesday of ever month

Hi there... yes I normally go to that meeting... I had to work on the 14th but hope to be there next month. It is on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Great group of ladies! We could use some fellas though if any of you dudes want to add a little diversity to the group... :)

  2. Just wanted to say Hi, I am also on the Peninsula. I have been working hard since July/August of 2012 to get approval through my insurance company. I am on day 2 of my pre-surgery liquid diet and have eight more to go, it's been a little rough today but I'm trying to stick to it. I have surgery on the 30th. I 'm really excited but scared at the same time. I hope to make some new friends and find good support

Hey! Its great to meet a neighbor :)

I know your going to do awesome! Its so exciting when your this close and totally nerve racking! Because time just dose not move fast enough. Let me know if you ever need to just chat..

  3. Don't be scared ...for me it was uncomfortable first two days....(I have had worse hangovers lol) I was at the Edmonds Surgical center. I saw Dr Landerholm 6 days post op. He said I was doing so good he didn't need to see me at one monh or 2 months....unless I have problem I go back for 3 month..I truely believe this is because I got up every 15 min or so and walked around .....my sister and I think Dr. L is so good looking ...something about his smile and eyes...just lights you up. Lol

I agree Dr. L is very handsome!!! I think its just partly contributed to his looks, he is so supper kind and very genuine. He really seems to have a good heart and want the very best for his patience. Again I wish I could have stayed with him as my dr. but oh well. I am glad you guys were able to :)

  4. Hi! This is my first post because I just discovered this website. I'm scheduled for surgery 4/16 with Dr. Landerholm at Evergreen Hospital. I am SCARED TO DEATH and can't seem to function too well, but hopefully as the week goes on, I'll get better.

I live in Mountlake Terrace and would love to get together with anyone who is interested. I'll be going to the monthly group sessions in Edmonds.

I'm so NERVOUS! Any encouraging words would be appreciated.

I almost had surgery with Dr. Laderholm. I absolutely loved him! I just could not afford it with self pay. I have been in contact with a number of the office staff there that I have made friends with and I got the Tacoma support group. You are in GREAT hands and will love the service and experience there. Everyone gets scared and every one has fears about surgery. You will do just fine. Just keep in mind how wonderful it is going to feel every day you loose another pound. And how fantastic it is going to be when you are even half way to your goal! You can do this! Also, like I said before, I am probably going to be moving to Seattle in the next couple months. I would love to start building a new group of friends on that side of the Water. Let me know if you ever want to hang out :)

  5. I am in Tacoma area and I am researching Tijuana. I had appointments with Puget Sound Bariatric but ended up not being able to selfpay.

I had the same experience... You are welcome to read my blog about my time in TJ. I had a great experience at a good price. :) I hope some of my info can help others. :) Good luck to you! Le me know how things go...

  6. Hi everyone! I am from Puyallup and I was sleeved 3-18-13 in Mexicali by Dr. Aceves! I would love to get some local support and maybe try out a support group! I am 3 weeks post op and down 28lbs!

I am over on the peninsula, but if you ever want to hang out and chat we could meet up some where in the middle :) I am all about having new friends and a bigger support system. I am 4 weeks out myself (sleeved on March 11th)

Hope your doing great! Let me know if you want to hang out sometime. :)

  7. Hi there -- I'm in Kirkland and was sleeved on 3/7/13 by Dr Landerholm at Puget Sound Surgical Center.

Curious to know if there are any Microsofties on here. If there are' date=' and you’d like to get together for a lunch walk, I’d love to do that. I won’t tell anyone if you won’t…other than my medical staff, only one person in the whole world knows I did this, my sister

    .

I haven’t been to any support groups yet, but thinking about going to the next one in Edmunds. Has anyone been? Are they worth going to?[/quote']

I was sleeved on 3.11.13! I was going to go to dr. L but was not able to. But I still am going to try the groups :) I am going to be trying the tacoma one next week. Really excited to meet some people and share some stories and cloths... I have a whole closet to give away this week...lol

  8. Hi Aaron,

Serendipity had some really good advice!

A few things I learned going into surgery was to be supper well hydrated! I also wanted to be as clean as I could (as in toxins). Since our goal is to shrink our livers pre op and our livers goal is to filter toxins I started drinking a detox tea I found on line. Not only did it get in the liquids I needed but it also helped detox me too... The tea I drank was made with dandelion tea (or any detox hot tea) 1/2 cup cranberry juice (no sugar added) 1 lemon sliced, 2 oz of ginger sliced and a few packs of splenda (just for taste) I liked drinking it better than plain Water...

The other thing I would suggest is to pack a little extension cord for your surgery day (hospital stay) I could never find an outlet to plug my phone/tablet into close to my bed... I had allot of people both here on VST and FB who wanted to know how I was doing. This might help you out a bit :)

Good luck with everything! Your going to do great!

Keep us updated, we would all like to know how it goes for you :)

    Amber

  9. I have been doing really good with yogurt, and cottage cheese. I tried some softly scrambled eggs and that was good. I just had to eat really slow. I also made some cream of wheat (kinda soupy) and that was good too. I found that every time I want to add something new to my diet I just have to eat it really slow so that I can feel if my tummy is going to like it or not. I can normally tell in a bite or two how I am going to take it. Good luck everyone :) Keep up those liquids :)

  13. Well, I have some comfy yoga pants and some loose shirts to ware. I also grabbed my bathrobe. I have a very comfy sundress to ware on the plane down and back. Slip on shews... a must have so i hear. A book to read (don't know how much I will feel like reading but its there in case) I got the gasx strips like everyone said. Dry shampoo! Because even though a shower will sound great I am not going to want to try to do my hair...lol I am sure I will think of one or two little things to add tonight... Can't believe I leave on Sunday! Woot Woot!

  14. I was sleeved yesterday. My gas pain is over the top right now! I am in significant pain as well. I'm hoping this all goes away soon. Surgery went well so that is a plus. We were told my husband and I could stay in the same room together and that isn't happening. I am sharing a room with another lady and her husband. My husband slept in the entry area last night. I'm on the count down to 2PM today. I really want some ice chips.< /p>

Im sorry your in pain rite now, Hang in there :) Good luck today with feeling better and getting in your liquids, i hope tonight is more easy for you..
